It was fun to read what happened while I was at the retreat.

Crows in California are much larger than in the East Coast of the US.  Blue jays here are about half the size of the crows, and chase them away from their nests, calling loudly.

The California crows are the size of our hawks, and the blue jays the size of our crows.  The game is the same.

    2009.08.27 13:00 - Inner children and voice(s)

      • Gaya Ethaniel: I was talking to a friend about a child within us recently [think a lot of us have that]. What do you think?
    • Wol Euler: the little (heh) voice within us...
    • Gaya Ethaniel: You hear it also?
    • Wol Euler: oh yes :)
    • Pila Mulligan: do you remembr Eric Berne's Transactional Analysis
    • Wol Euler: I think it does exist (insofar as thoughts and imaginings and memories and feelings "exist")
    • Wol Euler: mmhmm, I do :)
    • Gaya Ethaniel: What is it?
    • Wol Euler: I think I do. P-A-C?
    • Pila Mulligan: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transactional_analysis.
    • Pila Mulligan: he theorized that human interaction involves three levels of relationships
    • Pila Mulligan: 1. parent 2. adult 3. child
    • Pila Mulligan: and we act out those roles according to the situation
    • Wol Euler: the idea that interaction (not jus conversation) can be understood as connecting among three kinds of roles
    • Gaya Ethaniel: It is possible not to take on a role like that though or is it more or less impossible normally?
    • Wol Euler: gaya, the theory was that the connections were unconscious.
    • Pila Mulligan: wrong brain side
    • Wol Euler: it doesn't have to happen :)
    • 2009.08.27 07:00 - I Try to be Persistent
    • Eliza Madrigal: my life is full of 'mundane' tasks
Eliza Madrigal: and if I can enjoy them, wow... my life is full of joy :)
      Yakuzza Lethecus: right :)
Eliza Madrigal: which doesn't mean there aren't things I'd love to see happen
Yakuzza Lethecus: i elaborate on that, i think happyness is more an decision then something that comes to us by our environment
Yakuzza Lethecus: but that doesn´t work always :)
      Eliza Madrigal: appreciation :)
      Yakuzza Lethecus: right :)
Eliza Madrigal: Even most of our problems are often the results of priveleges

    • SophiaSharon Larnia: death is usually something to be fought against, despite the suffering this causes, because of the way we view it
    • Mickorod Renard: yes
    • Pila Mulligan: we actually have quite a variety of views of death in the world, some incompatible with each other, but certainly all diverse
    • SophiaSharon Larnia: yes true
    • Pila Mulligan: i like the idea of allowing someone to die if they wish to; that seems immoral to many
    • SophiaSharon Larnia: not to me
    • Mickorod Renard: I think its natural to avoid death if posible,,but so many things are so exciting when they are on the edge of risk of death
    • Pila Mulligan: yes the thrill aspect mick
    • Bertram Jacobus: "but" : MY personnaly work won't be finished until life and death will have the same value for me. until now, i find life more difficult or that is at least my idea ...
    • Pila Mulligan: I think the physical demands of life are, as you mentioned earlier Bert, the difficulty
    • Bertram Jacobus: and pila : i agree very much with your statement
    • Eliza Madrigal: :)
    • SophiaSharon Larnia: the idea of death is easier, who is to is to say it actually is easier, once you have 'moved on'
    • Eliza Madrigal: yes... I find that 'death' in general is hard to think about... but the many 'small' deaths... the daily letting go... seems important to pay attention to somehow

Mickorod Renard: I could have done that years ago,,but I have become a chatterbox lately
arabella Ella: it must be so difficult
Zen Arado: talking would make your mind work too much
      arabella Ella: i dunno
Mickorod Renard: how do you mean Zen?
