ART OF BEING FIVE - Reflection on the First Five Years

Hi PaB Artists!

THEME:  This year is Play as Being's fifth anniversary!   Party celebrations plans are in the works and information will be sent out soon.

In keeping with the theme of the 5th Anniversary, our next Art of Being project's theme will be "Art of Being Five - Reflection on the First Five Years."

I thought it would be fun to go back to our first project which took place in May 2010, and take our lead from there, using our new theme along with the first set of instructions.  We've learned so many new skills in building since we first started.  Initially, our first project started with limitations on number of prims, size, colors, and no textures, no sound, few particles, simply shape and color.  It will be great to see what we create this time.  

We used the “prim” as a metaphor for being; 

using shades of colors for the many colors of being; 

using transparency for revealing being; 

dropping textures as a metaphor for “PaB dropping” 

THE RULES - No exceptions.

One sculpture submitted per person (person = RL person).  Space permitting, a second entry can be submitted.

Play as Being Guardians and members of Friends of Play as Being group may participate.  Members of the Friends of Play as Being group will need to work with a Guardian to build and/or install their art pieces.

Installation:  

Installations may begin Monday, March 18, 2013.   

Must be installed by midnight SLT,  Saturday, March 23, 2013, no late submissions.

Install your piece on the bases Storm will provide in the Dome and Include a notecard in your piece.

Let Storm know which piece is yours and he will place your name next to it.

Size:  art pieces must fit within the dimensions: 4m x 4m x 6m high (originally it was under 10 sqm, but we didn't have the Dome then)

Number of Prims:  No more than 50 prims or total prim equivalence if mesh is included. 

Colors/Textures:  Any colors in varying degrees of transparency - NO Textures, only colored primes.

No Sounds 

Scripts:  You may use simple scripts and particles. (keep within the 4m x 4m x 6m space)

No physical objects.

No temporary rezzed objects.

SPECIAL SESSION:  SUNDAY, MARCH 24TH, NOON SLT IN THE DOME
