Approach

The theme for today is APPROACH

The first days of the year are often seen as symbolic of new beginnings.
The new year approaches.
Or, one approaches the new year.

This time has a distinctive feel.
One senses the days starting to get longer.
Now it feels like things are in motion
and ready for ones approach.

The encounter will be unique, new, unexpected.
The encounter will be follow natural patterns that repeat endlessly
but with variations.
The encounter carries the seeds of one's past situation and actions,
one's unique history.

One thing I naturally bring to this or any encounter is myself.
Are there patterns to how I approach things?

We are always approaching something, in some way
even when the situation is definite
and defines our expectations
even when waiting, or retreating.

But at this symbolic time APPROACH itself is easier to see
because the outer world lies dormant and receptive
ready for new things to grow
oneself among them.

The encounter is defined by what the world offers
defined by what I offer the world
and by the character of my APPROACH.
