2010.09.26 - Meeting Minutes

Present were Bleu, Cal, Eliza, SophiaSharon, and Storm/ Eos was traveling/ Eliza took minutes

1) Art as Being

It was first agreed that Octover 3rd was a good date for the Art as Being special session. It was moved from 2PM SLT to 12PM SLT to make it more convenient for European time zones. It will preceed the Sunday afternoon session. Bleu will first check with Adams to make sure of not conflicting with Art History Workshop, then will email the group. (done and set at the time of this minutes writing)

The Village Square area has been expanded by Storm to include a second tier, and guardians are participating with pushes and prods but seem to be really enjoying it. Storm and Bleu have been available to help in-world, when asked. Members of the community have expressed appreciation.

2) The next Working Group

Much of the rest of the meeting involved discussion regarding the process of forming the next Working Group. Each group has so far decided on a different way, with the first group forming by taking volunteers which narrowed down due to time requirements. The group at that point met every week.

The second group formed more according to specialization after writing out the roles and jobs that had evolved within the first set. There were areas which required more attention, and guardians who were naturally performing some of those roles already within the community, so inquiries were made. Meetings moved to every other week.

The third group will be formed by a narrowing process which combines the two first processes. Storm will send (has sent as of this writing) an email to the whole guardian email group, asking for volunteers. This will be a wide net. By the next meeting the WG will know who has come forward, who may step out (and can always come back in for another round later) and decisions will be made regarding what sorts of roles/jobs/talents/specializations may work well together.

All members expressed that in WG or out they would continue with special jobs within the community, regardless of WG titles.

3) Added due to time to spare: Wiki Changes

Discussion of recent wiki changes and general thoughts on the placement of tabs/findability/understandability. There was discussion of what pages to bring forward more prominently , labels that didn't seem to fit, and of not being able to find the theme sessions page. Basically, side tabs on the wiki have been brought to simplest form, and feedback is appreciated. Thanks to Calvino for what took a tremendous amount of work.
