The group met at 1400 with the exception of Mark who was still traveling back home from the Malta retreat.
0) No major decisions made by email since last meeting.
1) Fundraising and donations listing. Mark's absence precluded a full discussion, but Piet and Maxine agreed to pay their contribution during the first week or so of the quarter. Also as to whether to lower the expectations of funds to be raised it was agreed that the guardian meeting group should discuss this item and that an email be sent to them about THursday prior to the Sunday guardian meeting, mentioning this as a topic for that meeting. Piet to send that email.
2) New Guardians
Bleu Oleander to be invited to become a guardian.
3) PaB Wiki Overhaul: there will be further discussion with the wiki overhaul committee this week.
4) Kira Team Connection: Maxine mentioned that tomorrow's Kirateam meeting will include discussion of the Kira Japan developments. Piet mentioned that further decisions in this area would be forthcoming.
5) Village Pub: clearly the pub is a great success, offering a warm cozy spot to fill the needs for relaxed conversation. It was felt that email could be used to schedule events in the pub. And Saki said she might see if the Sustainability meetings might be held there.
6)Full Sweep through guardian names: Stephanie mentioned that she and Lia are in process re this large project. Storm mentioned that there were several lists which needed to be combed through:
the wiki, the PaB email group, those on SL, and the PaB listener. Storm offered to help with the SL listings This may be an ongoing project for a few weeks.
7) PaB handbook deferred
8) Further discussion about retreats
Storm raised the question of the California retreat in April, and Piet mentioned the notion of an urban retreat, taking place perhaps in the hotel in which a block of rooms has been booked, as well as possibly in parks, cafes and other public places. The dates of the retreat on the webpage still are in place.
This led to discussion which Piet and Mark had in Malta in which ther ewas general agreement that future retreats will be 5 days long, beginning on a Monday and ending on the Friday, allowing people to come and go on the weekends before and after. In addition, he mentioned that beginning in 2011 that the Nova Scotia retreat will be two weeks long, with the possiblity of coming and going on the middle Sunday. There was general agreement with this as a working model for RL retreats.
Piet mentioned traveling during the next two WG meeting times. There being so immediate or impending business we agreed to next meet in three weeks, February 23, 2pm SL.
Respectfully,
Maxine
