Read a strange and turbulent session this morning and came away with a kind of question... a kind of contrast.
When it comes to contemplative matters, there is an intellectual bent that can be taken which drains the life/joy away.
We can become clinical, looking at things like what it means to be 'detached' or not to have preferences. Observing our lives/thoughts/selves/layers becomes cold when our tools are so rigid and technical.
Hm... Isn't the idea to UN-Freeze, rather than just coming up with new or 'correct' ways of freezing?
Detachment isn't unattachment. Maybe we need new words.
Maybe detachment is simply being able to see what the fire needs in order to keep burning... being able to find what is necessary to add, or to take away... being confident.
