Valentine for PaB


Such as it is...
Happy accident
or funny valentine,
Take your pick.

A heart-shaped invitation,
Unfolded the space
Between your screens
your dreams,
and mine.

And we all fell,
All in --
Though not an in,
one climbs out of.

Someone is laughing,
Someone is singing,

Songs of Enoughness
from ten directions
travel the angles of time.

...

When I was a child
Gazing through the slivered
Window at the Moon which
fawned over the gardenias…

I asked for a friend.
I’d been told that one or two
Was plenty, not to press
my luck …

But perhaps that is a myth,
Even when Meme tells it.

There are
ways I never asked for,
and couldn’t have foreseen.

More than some portion
of Enough and,
Surely Beyond Ideas
of fair share.

Seriously, Lightly, we
choose over and over

Again, who hasn't thrown
their pieces down, or
given themselves
Up

What were we really
deciding?

Two matches two
matches three, then
Roll

Knock you off
kilter, then you capture
me

Hide and Seek
Catch and Go
King chase Queen

and
Stop.

frustrated
symmetry

the Rippling
Smile lines
of
Time,

showing
its face...

Thwarted
intentions...

I think, I will,

build a sand castle.
But instead

I am just
disappearing
traces

last year's
night blooming
jasmine

Microscopic
organisms
intricate lives

but if not
careful
we
just see
stones.
