Riddle Sideways: Morning Leaping Adams
Riddle Sideways: ㋡
Adams Rubble: Good morning Riddle :)
Riddle Sideways: sure is Dark this morning
Riddle Sideways: it seems like an hour earlier
Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: grumble grumble
Adams Rubble: no one expects the inquisition, whoops, time change
Adams Rubble: or I should say no one wants it
Adams Rubble: What should we explore today?
Much time in private IM that you might not care to hear :)
Riddle Sideways: a bit of private recap of personal exploration reports first
Adams Rubble listens
Adams Rubble: As you know I have been reading about the Abhidharma
--BELL--
Riddle Sideways: ok, back to public
Riddle Sideways: ㋡
Riddle Sideways: in time for the beel
Riddle Sideways: your latest blog entry confused this poor reader
Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: think, it was correcting a previous section
Riddle Sideways: then could not find the section it belonged to
Adams Rubble: I deleted the paragraph from the previous day and added it to the next
Adams Rubble: I had misunderstood Goodwin when he talked about faulty memory being due to forgotten memories that needed to be dealt with
Adams Rubble: I was thinking of this as all memory
Adams Rubble: but I realized he was talking about repression of traumatic events in a life
Adams Rubble: does that make more sense?
Riddle Sideways: think it does
Adams Rubble: sorry, it is easy to leave things out when one is explaining something
Riddle Sideways: was struck with an image of the reader looking hopelessly around for a deleted paragraph ㋡
Adams Rubble: mea culpa
Riddle Sideways: go down by the Olde Martin place that burned down 20 years ago, make a left
Adams Rubble giggles
Riddle Sideways: it is Fun following the multiple explorations
Riddle Sideways: and sometimes thinking there are related or maybe not
--BELL--
Adams Rubble: The first part of the book talked about 6 dharmas. Later the book is taking on the rest one by one. Some of them are making me think about my experience so I stop and make a little note
Riddle Sideways: good for us readers
Adams Rubble: there are 75 dharmas all together
Adams Rubble: I would be just repeating Steven Goodman if I talked about all 75
Adams Rubble: (for readers, the book is called "the Buddhist Psychology of Awakening)
Riddle Sideways: /waves to readers
Adams Rubble notices Riddle is very polite and welcoming
Adams Rubble: a very respectful noticing
Riddle Sideways: also thinking about studying a book (or lecture) and making notes
Riddle Sideways: then somebody else just reads the notes
Riddle Sideways: looking over at Riddle's shorthand notes on a computer notebook
Riddle Sideways: has a URL and some scribblings of 'maybe that part is incomplete"
Riddle Sideways: who will know what that meant years from now
Adams Rubble: My blog was begin as a log of my PaB explorations; was not meant to be public
Riddle Sideways: right
Adams Rubble: It does help me when I go back over the notes from time to time
Adams Rubble: i am humbled and pleased that some people read the blog
Riddle Sideways: however, somehow it slipped out into limited readership ㋡
Riddle Sideways: there are golden nuggets of PaB along the readings
Adams Rubble: I sometimes think it must be like reading a telephone book but those are rare these days
Riddle Sideways: mixed with Buddhism and Christianity crossing paths
Riddle Sideways: in the early days, many readings had to be done with your abbreviations guide open also
Adams Rubble: so much to learn
Adams Rubble: I haven't told anyone so far but I have begin and index. Only a few entries
Adams Rubble: you are the first to know
Riddle Sideways: wow
--BELL--
Riddle Sideways: tried to use your alphabet of abbreviations-shorthands
Riddle Sideways: many of them are personal meanings and were hard for another to use
Adams Rubble: the abbreviations were used to indicate what kind of stop it was
Riddle Sideways: tried hard to come up with own list
Adams Rubble: whether it was a PaB exercise or just a meditation of some kind
Riddle Sideways: it kept getting modified
Adams Rubble: it helped save time when I was trying to stop every 15 minutes so I did not spend the whole 15 miniutes blogging and then ahve to stop from blogging :)
Riddle Sideways: deep spiralling ㋡
Adams Rubble: now the entries are pauses much less often
Riddle Sideways: like both
Adams Rubble: the hoards of leaf blowing people have returned
Riddle Sideways: ah
Adams Rubble: big din outside the house
Adams Rubble: at least three of them
Adams Rubble: stirring up all the molds and insect eggs
Riddle Sideways: have seen/heard those hoards
Riddle Sideways: a local town just banned gas powered leaf blowers
Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: if you are outside the exhaust smell is very evident
Riddle Sideways: out here in the country there are not so many of those
Adams Rubble: my window is rattling from the noise
Adams Rubble: vibrating
Riddle Sideways: do have a battery powered leaf blower that barely makes noise
Adams Rubble nods
Riddle Sideways: also barely moves leaves
Riddle Sideways: and the batteries die quicker and quicker
Adams Rubble: I have an elctric leaf vacuum which grinds them up for compost pile
Adams Rubble: but the butterfly people say the elaves should not be disturbed this time of year
Riddle Sideways: have one of those too. for the more industrial piles
Riddle Sideways: read that typo as "elves"
Adams Rubble: hehe. I had to find the tupo
Adams Rubble: type
Adams Rubble: typ[o
Adams Rubble: typo
Riddle Sideways: giggles
Adams Rubble: whew
Riddle Sideways: [editor will leaf those in]
Adams Rubble: [reader can leaf through them]
Riddle Sideways: we also have lots of Public Service Announcements telling us to take down bird feeders this month
Adams Rubble: ohhh?
Riddle Sideways: there is a disease in some small birds
Riddle Sideways: going around
Adams Rubble: ohhh
Riddle Sideways: and spread by community gatherings at bird feeders
Adams Rubble: oh my
Riddle Sideways: who knew they need social distancing
Adams Rubble: I haven't heard anything so maybe it is not an issue here
Riddle Sideways: just an issue here
Adams Rubble: very sad
--BELL--
Riddle Sideways: they are saying we can put them back up next month
Riddle Sideways: if the birds are good this month
Adams Rubble: I think many birds would starve here if we took feeders down this time of year
Riddle Sideways: yes, it is needed in your area
Riddle Sideways: when snow covers their food
Adams Rubble: fortunately most of the snow has gone here
Adams Rubble: hoping for no more but keeping all the snow stiuff handy
Riddle Sideways: was freezing here last night
Riddle Sideways: brought in the less hardy plants
Riddle Sideways: living room looks like a arborairium
Adams Rubble: weather has gotten bad
Riddle Sideways: avoid vortex shifts
