Riddle Sideways: New report out; that Global Warming is worse then previously reported
Adams Rubble: Gary Brooker of Procal harum died
Riddle Sideways: oh!
Riddle Sideways: had not heard
Riddle Sideways: so liked Procol Harum
Adams Rubble: yes, me too
Adams Rubble: actually it was at least 6 days ago
Adams Rubble: Life is like a beanstalk, sin't it?
Adams Rubble: isn't it
Riddle Sideways: hmm, the friend that emails announcements of deaths must not have liked Procol Harum
Riddle Sideways: Life is like a box of chocolates
Riddle Sideways: isn't it
Riddle Sideways: Robin Trower was personal fav
Adams Rubble: Happy March
Riddle Sideways: yes, another month begins today
Riddle Sideways: to-do task: turn the calendar page
Adams Rubble: 3 calendars turned, 3 to go
Adams Rubble: calendars everywhere
Riddle Sideways: done! tried to put it off,
Riddle Sideways: oh right. there is one more upstairs
Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: I have one in the basement this year. so many calendars so few walls
Riddle Sideways: only 2 here. Use to have 5
Adams Rubble: 2022 is 1/6 over already
Adams Rubble: I put up a new month on the wiki this morning
--BELL--
Adams Rubble: I guess that is Robin Trower playing in "In Held Twas I"
Adams Rubble: listening to that
Adams Rubble: now the piano and bass together
Adams Rubble: I always loved Gospel piano
Riddle Sideways: ah. just listened to Grand Hotel
Riddle Sideways: recalling the Storm really liked them
Adams Rubble: The first Procol Harum record is one of the few I bought
Adams Rubble: could not afford albums then
--BELL--
Riddle Sideways: Yes, an album had to be special back then. to afford it and carry it around all those moves
Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: I moved on an average of every year and a half then
Riddle Sideways: probably moved every year
Riddle Sideways: so only 1 orange crate of albums was allowed
Adams Rubble: a real music lover :)
Adams Rubble: I had much less
Adams Rubble: lots of art books
Riddle Sideways: not so many books back then. Would read one and give it away
Adams Rubble: but had cassette tapes
Adams Rubble: and a player with a four inch speaker. hehe
Riddle Sideways: yes, later started cassette taping everything
Riddle Sideways: the original Walk Man had a 2 inch speaker
Riddle Sideways: or at least one of the first models
Adams Rubble: funny to think about the things we considered treasures at various times in life
Riddle Sideways: fact checking says No. the first Walkmans only had earphones
Adams Rubble: some of them still around in some forgotten box somewhere in the house
Riddle Sideways: Started listening to "A Prairie Home Compainion" and found my parent's radios could not pick it up
Riddle Sideways: so, would taped it onto a 120 minute cassette and mail it to them
Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: couple years ago, sister shipped a couple big boxes of tapes to me
Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: It was a quiet morning at Lake Wobegan
Riddle Sideways: Having grown up in Lake Wobegan, I hated the small town and moved away as soon as possible
Riddle Sideways: then years later, started listening to the radio show and stories
Riddle Sideways: and started appreciating
Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: now seem glad to have been raised there
Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: subscribe to the olde hometown Newspaper. Now a monthly
Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: and read all the obits
--BELL--
Adams Rubble: I subscribe to the digital edition of my old home town newspaper
Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: too many obits in mine
Riddle Sideways: yep
Adams Rubble: Deep roots
Adams Rubble: how long did you ancestors live in the area?
Adams Rubble: asking beause my ancestral roots are mostly elsewhere
Riddle Sideways: Dad's side, not that long. Grandfather and brothers came there
Riddle Sideways: Mom's side were maybe 5 generations in a neighboring village, then moved to our town
Riddle Sideways: Funny that was never told a straight story of where that side came from
Adams Rubble: On my father's side, three generations came to my city so I am either fifth generation Philadelphian or third generation Phildelphian, not sure which :)
Adams Rubble: family oral history is interesting - so many clues there for research
Adams Rubble: some things hidden away
Riddle Sideways: recall that you have done much research and documenting
Adams Rubble: yes, have done some :)
Adams Rubble: when a family stays put in an area for some time, it is easier :)
Riddle Sideways: realizing that I don't know that much and have past even less on to the kids
Adams Rubble: none of our children are very interested
Adams Rubble: "And feed them on your dreams The one they pick's the one you'll know by"
Adams Rubble: ohh, that is a bad transcription :)
Riddle Sideways: about to write the next line, but it is sad
--BELL--
Adams Rubble: best not to ask why
Riddle Sideways: better to go back to: "We skipped the light fandango, Turned cartwheels 'cross the floor"
Adams Rubble: or just that we love them unconditionally and often share along the lines of the dreams we passed on to them
Adams Rubble: Thank you for hosting today :)
Riddle Sideways: was nice
Riddle Sideways: must go turn the calendar pages
Adams Rubble: :)))
Adams Rubble: take good care dear friend
Adams Rubble: enjoy the warming
Adams Rubble: hope you get some rain
Riddle Sideways: thanks. Need rain
Adams Rubble nods. NW getting lots
Riddle Sideways: heard that about Portland
Adams Rubble: and Seattle
Adams Rubble: well take good care
