2010.05.11 1400 - Working Group Minutes

The working group met by Skype, and was attended by Eliza Madrigal, Storm Nordwind, Bleu Oleander, Calvino Rabeni, and SophiaSharon Larnia. Eos Amaterasu was away. Minutes by SophiaSharon.

1) Emails checked at the end of the meeting.

2) Calvino is working on the new server for the website for Kira/PaB; the old one is expiring soon. The date we will begin to use the new server is still a question, but may begin in the next 2-3 weeks. Fael has copied the wiki to the new web address. In the future, the old links will not be usable, but will be redirected to the new web site. The PaB website will continued to be paid for under Kira funds. It would be best to have several guardians knowledgeable of the wiki, rather than just one or two, to increase usability. The date of 'going live' with the new wiki will be determined to prepare the group at large of posting glitches or other problems. Calvino will compose a message with Fael to the working group, and then to the Guardian group. Although there is not one day of the week that is safest/best for this implementation, Storm is more available Monday-Thursday. This change over needs to be noted in-world, and the old notecards updated with the new address. A Guardian session may be held for this announcement, as well as by email. Guardians will have a say in the design of web site pages, and suggestions can be made during Guardian sessions or by email.

3) The new web site design may be an angle of an Art of Being project. Bleu brought up another possible project, that of photographing objects in SL and RL, and may be included in SL field trips. This will help guardians, if they like, with camera control/technical aspects, building skills, and generally learning from each other. Pictures can be uploaded into SL, or emailed to a generous Guardian (maybe the new website or other platform?)

It would be helpful if someone learns the new viewer. ^^

4) The donation page structure has been flipped. Piet and Maxine have been the main contributors. Donations now to be asked in-world, and fund-raising efforts to focus on tier and wiki server costs. Eos is setting up a recurrent donation system on paypal. Included on the Guardian session about the new wiki will be reminders/ideas for donations.

5) Several possibilities for new Guardians were discussed.
