    Eden Haiku: LOL
Riddle Sideways: volunteered setting up stuff at Jazz Festival last week
Eden Haiku: Sharing the burden makes it lighter :)
Riddle Sideways: a lot of sitting around waiting
Eden Haiku: And bugs came up?
Riddle Sideways: then golf carting to the other end
    Riddle Sideways: do one thing
Riddle Sideways: then wait some more
Riddle Sideways: daughter came down for a night
Riddle Sideways: and we got to the Sand Castle contest
Eden Haiku: oh! Sand Castle, fun!
Riddle Sideways: great works of temporial Art
Riddle Sideways: theme was "lines in the Sand"
Eden Haiku: Temporial Art: between Memorial and Temporary :)
    Riddle Sideways: yes
Eden Haiku: Like Nazca glyphs maybe?
Eden Haiku: Landing sites for flying saucers :)
Riddle Sideways:there was a Lion in the Sand. a sand lion with kelp hair and mane
Eden Haiku: Oh! So sad we can't share real photos on the wiki...I'm sure you have snapshots of that sand beast...
Eden Haiku: Whenever I try to share a RL photo it ends up upside down on the wiki
Riddle Sideways:yes. and of the dogs that walked right through the Art
    Riddle Sideways: ㋡
    Eden Haiku: Bad dogs!
Riddle Sideways: and pics of a tourist walking in front of the camera

    Elizaaaaaa!!!!!

    Riddle Sideways: Elizaaaaaa!!!!!
Eliza Madrigal: :::waves with both hands:::
    Riddle Sideways: hi
    Riddle Sideways: you return
Eden Haiku: Good morning Eliza! So nice to see you!
Eliza Madrigal: I do seem to
    Riddle Sideways: /listens for stories
Eliza Madrigal: Nice to see you both :)
Eden Haiku: We were talking about a Sand Castle exhibit Riddle went to
Eliza Madrigal: have followed some book release and deer adventures, just catching up on other logs and conversations now
Eden Haiku: I don't dare make you a notecard as my system memory is too full and can’t handle much.
    Eliza Madrigal: Oh, love those....
    Eliza Madrigal: please go on
Eden Haiku: Tell us about your evacuation stories Eliza, please :)
Eliza Madrigal: just lots and lots of driving
Eden Haiku: I was so worried and now so glad you are safe and at home!
    Riddle Sideways: please
Eliza Madrigal: my daughter (younger) did lose part of her roof though... well, the roof where she lives with bf
Eliza Madrigal: but everyone is safe, main thing. It was difficult to have us all scattered about, dealing with storm distinctly in own ways
Eliza Madrigal: Miami was largely spared, thankgoodness

    Mantras

    Riddle Sideways: hi Leaping Adams
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Adams :)
Eliza Madrigal: the only mindful thing I can say about the adventure today is that mantras were a big support
Eden Haiku: Where did you evacuate to? Hello Adams!!!
Adams Rubble: Hello Riddle, Eden and Eliza :)
Eliza Madrigal: Georgia, with son and dog, to sister's house. There are some cultural political observations I could make, but maybe in time :)
Eden Haiku: Mantras, that's wonderful Eliza, It kept you centered.
Eliza Madrigal: (not one confederate flag sighting nor trump sticker while there @@)
    Eden Haiku: Phew!
Eliza Madrigal: yes they did Eden :)
    Riddle Sideways: ㋡
    Adams Rubble: :)
Eliza Madrigal: I mention that only because it was strange/not the norm, so seems notable
    Eliza Madrigal: (re flags etc)
Riddle Sideways: Georgia and Miami are not exactly the same?
    Eliza Madrigal grins
Eden Haiku: Maybe the media make it worse than what it is really?
Eliza Madrigal: Family there was very good to us, no conflicts etc.I was quite distressed at times, worrying about the girls
Eliza Madrigal: and my grandfather who treated the storm as no big thing - ugh
Eden Haiku: I’m sure you were :)
Eliza Madrigal: so, there is my story nutshell :) thanks for asking/caring

    Sand Lion

Adams Rubble: glad everyone is safe
Eden Haiku: Thanks for sharing Eliza ;)
Eliza Madrigal: @eden, I don't think they make it worse, just don't show spectrums perhaps, or what may be changing, fast
    Eden Haiku: Yes, maybe.
    Eliza Madrigal shrugs
Eliza Madrigal:now tell me everything I missed, and stories of sandcastles
    Eliza Madrigal: lol
    Eliza Madrigal: (thanks Adams) :)
Eden Haiku: The sand lion Riddle saw seemed quite majestic
    Riddle Sideways: ㋡
Riddle Sideways: lots of pyramids. they are favorite thing for sand castle shape
Eliza Madrigal: I was thinking that "sand lion" conjures egyptian images
Eliza Madrigal: or Tibetan snow lions, but sand ^.^
Riddle Sideways: and the Aztec pyramid (can't speel)
    Eliza Madrigal: nice
Riddle Sideways: was most nice to just walk and sit by the ocean
Riddle Sideways: live right by it, but don't get there much
    Eden Haiku: Nice :)
Eliza Madrigal: you seem to be so nicely situated Riddle, amidst forests and ocean?
Riddle Sideways: oh well... somebody has to live in paradise
    Eliza Madrigal smiles... suppose so
Riddle Sideways: then went to Jazz festival for a few hours. there was a panel talk of women in jazz
    Eliza Madrigal: oooh
Riddle Sideways: and what they face in a boys club

    --BELL--

    Eliza Madrigal: pobrecito
Eden Haiku: She didn't show up yesterday. The other two did. I'm a bit worried :)
    Eliza Madrigal: aw
Eden Haiku: Would someone take a picture of our group this morning and send it to me via mail? It seems my computer can't handle one more snapshot :(
    Bleu Oleander: kk
Eden Haiku: Many people living in the country told us she can survive though. Hope she will,
Eliza Madrigal: at least it isn't winter...time to recover more perhaps
Eden Haiku: Thank you Bleu:) Your outfit is so striking I want it on the log :)
    Bleu Oleander: ty :)
Eden Haiku: Yes, and animals do know how to eat healing plants
    Eliza Madrigal: oh dear, brb
    Riddle Sideways: ? looks around
Eliza Madrigal: sorry, that was too mysterious...
Eliza Madrigal: just someone at the door, or rather, through the door talking to the dog, who got very excited and wanted to greet them
Eden Haiku: Was George anxious during the upcoming storm?
Eliza Madrigal: people came to see where he was while we were away for hurricane
Eliza Madrigal:He did very well on the road, but horrible at the hotels
Eden Haiku: Didn’t mean to whisper :(
Eden Haiku: How many days to get to Georgia ?
Eliza Madrigal:the drive was double the time due to the storm traffic
    Eden Haiku: Ah yes...
Eliza Madrigal: so what should have been 10 hours total was a great deal more, and long gas lines, et
Eliza Madrigal: not so easy on the body... am in recovery mode now
Riddle Sideways: the wind was at your back tho
Eliza Madrigal: we were able to leave a little earlier than some others, and coming home wasn't so bad, so all in all very fortunate
Eden Haiku: Yes, this is very taxing for the body and a lot of stress too
Eliza Madrigal nods... both son and I quite ill for the last few days, better today
Eden Haiku: Yes, at least you are safe and your home is intact :)
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Bleu Oleander: aw, sorry to hear ...

    Remarkable things along the way

Eliza Madrigal: so many remarkable things along the way though...
Eden Haiku: Oh please, do tell!
Eliza Madrigal: one wishes to write it all out but then zip, time passes
Eliza Madrigal: well, one interesting thing was this man from Jordan that I met in line for water for 7 hrs...
Eden Haiku: 7 hours waiting line!!!!
    Bleu Oleander: wow
Eliza Madrigal: who spoke many languages and described his family life, the sand storms in Petra, etc
Bleu Oleander: I have friends in Petra now
Eliza Madrigal: I'd love to go there one day
    Bleu Oleander: photos are amazing
Eliza Madrigal: didn't realize there was a sand storm season
    Bleu Oleander: yes me too
Eden Haiku: At least you had a nice connection with another human waiting in line for 7 hours.Yes, a friend for life!
Eliza Madrigal:truly, everyone in line was delightful
Eliza Madrigal: at some point, I couldn't stand much longer so my daughter came to take my place
Eliza Madrigal: and she laughed and laughed at all the friends I'd made
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Bleu Oleander: :)
    Eden Haiku: Funny Eliza :)
Riddle Sideways: yes, love meeting people in lines
    Eden Haiku: Friendly Eliza :)

    Memories of hurricane Andrew

Eliza Madrigal: no one else in line had lived in Miami during hurricane Andrew
    Bleu Oleander: amazing
Eliza Madrigal: and few had even seen photos of the potentials
Eliza Madrigal: or considered (for some) months without power, what that's like
Eliza Madrigal: streets filled with national guard, etc
Eden Haiku: Better be prepared than sorry...
    Eliza Madrigal nods
Riddle Sideways: hard to get that across to people
    Bleu Oleander: yep
Eliza Madrigal: but also difficult, expensive to prepare
Eden Haiku: How long did it take you to get back to normal after hurricane Andrew?
Eliza Madrigal: we felt so fortunate, but knew when we drove away that everything might have been blown away
Eden Haiku: Yes, a terrible thought!
Eliza Madrigal: In some ways, Miami was changed forever... the tree cover of my childhood was largely gone, and during Andrew I had a 3 week old baby...
Eliza Madrigal: so it is a bit of a blur really... stopped being able to breastfeed from the stress, displaced for a few weeks, but got power earlier than most others
Eden Haiku: Such a young life to protect...Terrifying...
    Eliza Madrigal nods
Eliza Madrigal: a little earlier and I would have weathered the storm at hospital
Eliza Madrigal: like others from my birthing classes
    Eliza Madrigal: later rather
    Eden Haiku: Oh!
Eliza Madrigal: she was a few weeks early :) I think she knew
    Bleu Oleander: :)
    Eden Haiku: smiles
Eliza Madrigal: Oh! and the hurricane followed us to GA this time...
    Eden Haiku: It did?
Eliza Madrigal: the house next door to my sister was crushed by a huge tree...
Riddle Sideways: yes, it went north too
Eliza Madrigal: and we lost power there
Eliza Madrigal: was a tropical storm by that time
    Bleu Oleander: wow that's scary
Eliza Madrigal: more so than in Miami, frightening, because those houses aren't built to such high codes
Eden Haiku: And hurricanes are getting more forceful now...
    Eliza Madrigal: hot waters!!
Eden Haiku: Climate change and general numbness about the reality of it...
Eliza Madrigal: no code can stand up to a cat 5....
Eliza Madrigal nods... and fires all over...
Adams Rubble: lots of storms so far this year
Eliza Madrigal: those people on the islands :(
Bleu Oleander: just about to be hit again!
    Bleu Oleander: Maria
    Eliza Madrigal: and possibly Haiti...
Riddle Sideways: what happened to the storms named K and L ?

    Little wounded deer is back

Eden Haiku: The little wounded deer is back with her mom and sister!!!
    Riddle Sideways: yayyyyy
Eliza Madrigal: really too much... it is a micro picture of what climate refugees mean
    Bleu Oleander: great :)
Adams Rubble: Lee is going to peeter it it seems
Eliza Madrigal: Oh Yay! :)) That's a good sign
    Eliza Madrigal: for everything :D
Adams Rubble: Kaytya did damage in mexico
    Riddle Sideways: thanks
Eliza Madrigal: I haven't seen much about that yet Adams
Adams Rubble: Jose is passing by here tomorrow. The clouds are here today
Adams Rubble: it is going to do another turn south after is passes mass
    Eliza Madrigal: hmmm...
Eden Haiku: My companion is feeding them bits of apples and carrots...
    Eliza Madrigal smiles
    Bleu Oleander: nice :)
Eden Haiku: Feeling like in a Disney movie when they show up :)
Eliza Madrigal:that makes me unreasonably happy this morning, haha
Riddle Sideways: sometimes, it would be nice if we could share some RL photos
    Riddle Sideways: "Unreasonably Happy"
    Riddle Sideways: nice
    Eliza Madrigal: ^.^
Eden Haiku: Yes! It used to be possible. Howcome photos always get upside down?
Eliza Madrigal: I must go pick up my son from college :) he can drive now but half the lights are out so I feel better this way. Would love to see/share photos too <3
