Riddle Sideways: Thank you, Listener Master
--BELL--
Riddle Sideways: Leaping Adams approachs
Riddle Sideways: Howdee, Adams
Adams Rubble: Good morning Riddle :)
Riddle Sideways: Saw ya diz time
Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: I would like to comment on a topic we started two weeks ago
Adams Rubble: if I may :)
Riddle Sideways: one quick thing for the log
Adams Rubble: Okidoke
Adams Rubble waits
Riddle Sideways: wanted to include anything about Marielle Franco
Adams Rubble: whi is she?
Riddle Sideways: of Rio, that was killed a few days ago
Adams Rubble: oh, I do not know about it
Riddle Sideways: https://www.npr.org/2018/03/16/59419...ve-by-shooting
Adams Rubble: more bad news :(
Riddle Sideways: was thinking that the Patriarchy did it
Riddle Sideways: and your interest in the subject
Adams Rubble: My reading is all over the place right now :(
Riddle Sideways: oh yes, we only talk of bad news
Riddle Sideways: trying to get world news or local news
Riddle Sideways: only
Adams Rubble: I am reading a book called White Rage by Carol Anderson
Riddle Sideways: light read?
Riddle Sideways: bet not
Adams Rubble: I have been struck about how the things that are happening with the Trump administration are just a continuation
Adams Rubble: no, heavy read
Riddle Sideways: yes! a continuation
Riddle Sideways: and a not so hidden continuation
Adams Rubble: anyway, I have something I would say about John 4:7
Riddle Sideways: an in yer face
Riddle Sideways: oh good
Adams Rubble: A few weeks ago I threw this at you
Adams Rubble: The translation I was using says "7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God"
Adams Rubble: I have had trouble finding this in other Bibles and could not figure out why
Riddle Sideways: yes, and research seems to show it much more Christian than Judaism
Riddle Sideways: Oh?
Riddle Sideways: some/many don't have that?
Adams Rubble: It is often translated as Spirit instead of Love
Adams Rubble: The way it is used here is connected to John 1 in which God is Light
Adams Rubble: or Logos, the Word
Adams Rubble: This part is Greek in origin
Adams Rubble: but spirit is not to be understood the way we use it nowadays
Adams Rubble: I want to quote from The Interpretors Bible
Adams Rubble: The main thought here is that the highest part of man's nature should be attuned to God, who is spirit, and that his worship must be based upon the reality of the God whom he approaches in devotion.
Adams Rubble: However :)
Adams Rubble: I just noticed the King James Version is: Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
Adams Rubble: ohhh is OF God
Adams Rubble: anyway I have been chasing an illusive idea :)
Adams Rubble: I got it all wrong
Riddle Sideways: comparing...
Riddle Sideways: and the next part too?
Riddle Sideways: and whoever loves has been born of vs. and every one that loveth is born of
Adams Rubble: The Douay-Rheims is the translation that was used by American Catholics for many years. Here is a longer quote:
Riddle Sideways: ok, that is same
Adams Rubble: 7 Dearly beloved, let us love one another, for charity is of God. And every one that loveth, is born of God, and knoweth God. 8 He that loveth not, knoweth not God: for God is charity. 9 By this hath the charity of God appeared towards us, because God hath sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we may live by him. 10 In this is charity: not as though we had loved God, but because he hath first loved us, and sent his Son to be a propitiation for our sins. 11 My dearest, if God hath so loved us; we also ought to love one another. 12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abideth in us, and his charity is perfected in us.
Adams Rubble: It is quite beautiful I think
Adams Rubble: Love is still the important point I think
--BELL--
Adams Rubble: Do you remember Geo?
Riddle Sideways: yes
Adams Rubble: the franciscan brother who used to come to PaB
Adams Rubble: He said that sin is the moving away from God's Love
Riddle Sideways: never knew Geo was Franciscan
Adams Rubble: anyway that was my introduction to this topis--way back then
Riddle Sideways: ok, following
Adams Rubble is out of ammo
Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: ok... so sin is a not love
Riddle Sideways: sin=transgression
Adams Rubble: in Geo's statement God's Love
Riddle Sideways: against Love
Adams Rubble: but when we love we would move closer to God or in PaB terms, Being
Adams Rubble: When we Love we are Playing as Being :))))\
Riddle Sideways: :)) nice
Adams Rubble stands up and bows
Adams Rubble giggles
Riddle Sideways: made one point
Riddle Sideways: now... digging deeper on the quotes
Riddle Sideways: the Love=Charity
Adams Rubble listens
Riddle Sideways: in the second quote
Riddle Sideways: it jumps to Charity
Riddle Sideways: for G-d is Charity
Adams Rubble: Charity is sometimes exchanged for Love in NT translations
Adams Rubble: I am not sure if there is a subtle difference in NT terms
Riddle Sideways: in modern english they are usually not the same
Adams Rubble: exactly
Adams Rubble: charity involves works or money
Adams Rubble: caritas
Riddle Sideways: love can, but usually doesn't
Adams Rubble: love is more spiritual
Adams Rubble: love is the ultimate spiritual
Riddle Sideways: so, at King James' rewrite time maybe they were the same
Adams Rubble: I don;t know enough to go there
Adams Rubble: caritas is Latin so goes way back
Adams Rubble: well not as way back as Hebrew :)
Riddle Sideways: and John doesn't go back that far
Adams Rubble: partially way back
Adams Rubble: John represents Hellenized Jewish thought
--BELL--
Riddle Sideways: that part where each victor rewrites history
Riddle Sideways: and maybe perhaps rewrites something in their favor
Adams Rubble: I don;t think quite that
Adams Rubble: The Romans were the victors
Riddle Sideways: maybe just that some words don't translate well?
Adams Rubble: a word like Spirit has changed
Riddle Sideways: a word like Being has changed
Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: or been defined here
Riddle Sideways: is now in common use
Adams Rubble: it never got defined here :)
Riddle Sideways: good point
Adams Rubble: Piet otiginally thought we could do it in three years
Adams Rubble: now we are mixing Judeo-Christian-Islamioc thought with Buddhism and Daosim and Hinduism
Adams Rubble: words like Love and Spirit are used in all places
Adams Rubble: ohh and now Shamanism
Riddle Sideways: and dualisms other side of coins
Adams Rubble: I think Piet noted atat all are talking around the ideas that can't be expressed in words
Adams Rubble: atat=that
Adams Rubble: yes, all trying to put dualism aside in our search for the love and spiritual
Riddle Sideways: some amount of, if expressed then might miss parts or would be one sided
Adams Rubble: yes!
Riddle Sideways: and we were not to be sided
Adams Rubble: or be misinterpreted
Adams Rubble: in PaB we have been talking this to death for a decade :)
Adams Rubble: and we could go another decade :)
Riddle Sideways: ok let us
Riddle Sideways: ㋡
Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: I think we just did a complete session in 40 minutes
Riddle Sideways: by avoiding things
Riddle Sideways: the decision not to write it down in concrete, stone tablets
Adams Rubble: hehe
Riddle Sideways: took up the pen
Riddle Sideways: then set it down
Riddle Sideways: one of our egos could take up the pen and write The Meaning
Riddle Sideways: and be done
Adams Rubble: down ego
Riddle Sideways: well, except the arguements
Riddle Sideways: write it down and nail it on a church door
Adams Rubble: good ole' Marty Luther
Riddle Sideways: write it down with the absolute Rule the not a letter shalt every be changed
Riddle Sideways: *that
--BELL--
Riddle Sideways: :))
Riddle Sideways: needed changes, already
Riddle Sideways: then explorers went to new continuents and found civilizations with differing words for the (almost) same ideas
Riddle Sideways: and wiped them out
Riddle Sideways: whoops, mean incorporated them
Riddle Sideways: so, now the Godess is back in
Riddle Sideways: "Being' got defined
Riddle Sideways: and a tower of Babble
Riddle Sideways: translated it
Adams Rubble: or just play as loving people
Riddle Sideways: lovely
Riddle Sideways: always thought the "AS" part was almost more important
Riddle Sideways: no on straight
Adams Rubble: the elusiveness
Riddle Sideways: that is the word
Adams Rubble: In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God
Riddle Sideways: OOOOOOhhhhhhhhmmmmmmm
Adams Rubble: :)))
Riddle Sideways: yep, got this topic as far as could in under the hour
Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: ... are you wearing the field of wild flowers again?
Adams Rubble: yes :)
Riddle Sideways: so that dancing will produce virigo
Riddle Sideways: +t
Riddle Sideways: Ah yes
Adams Rubble gives a shout out to Moon
Riddle Sideways: :)) waves
Riddle Sideways: Moon and Geo in one session
Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: and Piet
Adams Rubble: I hope this can sustain us for a week :)
Riddle Sideways: and Being
--BELL--
Riddle Sideways: hmmm, what does that mean?
Adams Rubble: to remember to play as loveing
Adams Rubble: loving
Riddle Sideways: Adams Rubble: we meander through the PaB playing fields
Riddle Sideways: ok, my friend, we settled all that
Riddle Sideways: or not
Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: thank you so much Riddle :)\
Riddle Sideways: should say "to be continued" here
Riddle Sideways: thank you so much
Adams Rubble: have a very nice day and week :)
Riddle Sideways: and you go have fun
Adams Rubble goes forth to play at Love
Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: good
Adams Rubble: onwards....
Adams Rubble: bye
Riddle Sideways: onwards...
