Adams Rubble: Good morning Riddle :)
Riddle Sideways: Good Morning Adams ㋡
Riddle Sideways: So, much to talk this morning, shall we fast through weather, moods, sickness, vacines, etc. ?
Riddle Sideways: report from here = fine
Adams Rubble: 25% of people in NJ have been vaccinated
Adams Rubble: about 25% of the people in my county have been vaccinated
Riddle Sideways: getting calls from people, 'got vaccinated'
Adams Rubble: pretty fine here
Adams Rubble: yes FB loaded with people who got vaccinated
Adams Rubble: oh well
Adams Rubble: good for them
Riddle Sideways: over two nights watched a very good documentary "The Black Church" = Henry Louis Gates. on PBS
Riddle Sideways: History, meanings, turnings, political, spirituals, directions
Riddle Sideways: you might really like it
Riddle Sideways: of course depressing and showing Racism in many places
Adams Rubble: so much racism
Adams Rubble: I think Trump said when running that there would be so much racism that we would get tired of it
Riddle Sideways: wow, he was correct
Adams Rubble: oh, maybe that was whining
Riddle Sideways: in a speech sound bite couple days ago, heard "I think I will run and win a third time"
Adams Rubble: or whine a 34,528th time
Adams Rubble: Biden's dogs got sent back to Delaware because one of them bit a staffer
Riddle Sideways: oh dear. had not heard
Adams Rubble: I think that was why Steve Bannon got sent out of the trump white house
Riddle Sideways: hahaha right
Adams Rubble wonders where all my scarcasm is coming from this morning
Riddle Sideways: why wonder
Adams Rubble: watching my mind this week, i have been a different person every day
Riddle Sideways: reading the blog of a different yet the same person all week
Riddle Sideways: an explorer
Adams Rubble: some fireworks this week
Riddle Sideways: a slowed down vision of very small parts
Riddle Sideways: a trying to 'see' the whole through the parts
Riddle Sideways: AND know the parts from the whole view
Riddle Sideways: not sure this hour will be enough
Riddle Sideways: the oft mentioned practice of suspending most of the 'channels' to focus only on one
Riddle Sideways: during meditation
Adams Rubble: the first part of this exploration has been looking at the channels of perception
--BELL--
Riddle Sideways: as if that would be the representative of the other channels
Adams Rubble: learning to watch them and close down some of the channels to concentrate on one at a time
Adams Rubble: just six channels but the mind is the big one
Adams Rubble: shhh
Riddle Sideways: ah yes, those 'Doors of Perception'
Riddle Sideways: nice phrase. Let's name the band that
Riddle Sideways: ㋡
Riddle Sideways: then years ago read a book on how the brain worked
Riddle Sideways: it had 5+ levels inside
Riddle Sideways: and a lot of filtering or autoprocessing going on so that not all channels got to upper levels
Riddle Sideways: the eyeball, flits about the frame of view very fast.
Riddle Sideways: and may not get all those scenes to the upper mind
Riddle Sideways: seems so simple that closing the eyes would calm the mind way down
Adams Rubble: I close my minds when i want to visualize something
Adams Rubble: for whatever that is worth
Riddle Sideways: great expression
Riddle Sideways: anyway, the 6 channels seem to contain so many other sub-shannels
Adams Rubble: your book is taking a different approach than the Abhidharma explanation
Riddle Sideways: yes, it was a physiological approach
Riddle Sideways: funny, how many different approachs
Adams Rubble: tough to try to think about more than one approach at a time :)
Riddle Sideways: a vast amount of a person's life taken up with the prep, education, research, thoughts, meditation, discernments
Riddle Sideways: then putting into words
Riddle Sideways: then publishing the book
Adams Rubble: or not
Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: right
Riddle Sideways: looking at the book shelves of those books in the Great Library
Adams Rubble: The six channels and the ability to concentrate on one during meditation seems to be born out in exploratrion
--BELL--
Riddle Sideways: that exploring that feels right
Adams Rubble: we can watch the arising and disolution of positive and negative feelings in our mind and we can learn to control them with constant vigilance
Adams Rubble: that statement is a bit problemmatic on its own
Adams Rubble: sorry
Riddle Sideways: no, has so much to think through
Adams Rubble: I remember Stim being so careful with words
Adams Rubble: if we say positive and negative energy we are on firmer ground
Adams Rubble: when negative energy arises in a moment and catchs hold it can stay with us all day
Riddle Sideways: at least it 'feels' that way
Riddle Sideways: energy instead of feelings
Adams Rubble: that has happened to me; at least until something powerful breaks it up or we do a nine second stop and press the 'clear" button :)
Riddle Sideways: simple example, an earworm
Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: that little ditty won't go away until a Powerful song comes in
Riddle Sideways: (will not say the title of that most powerful ditty)
Adams Rubble: the song that sank 1000 ships
Riddle Sideways: that earworm channel is sooooo hard to close
Riddle Sideways: yet, good can come from it. e.g. when trying to learn a new song, repeating it endlessly
Adams Rubble: the earworm is a stuck needle in the CPU :)
Adams Rubble: there are a couple of references to confound the young
--BELL--
Riddle Sideways: have studied the CPU for so many years
Riddle Sideways: and the Operating Systems
Riddle Sideways: employed to write better Real Time OS
Riddle Sideways: the time slices that each process gets
Riddle Sideways: or doesn't
Adams Rubble: the OS in our mind was written thousands of years ago
Riddle Sideways: the uninterruptable interrupts
Riddle Sideways: and the Idle process(es)
Riddle Sideways: and the sub-processors handling some of the inputs
Riddle Sideways: the expanded use of the GPU ㋡ to handle all the graphics
Riddle Sideways: the separate math processors
Riddle Sideways: and all those channels
Riddle Sideways: the short term memories
Riddle Sideways: ready to be switched back in for some more time
Riddle Sideways: and the time clocks. never stopping
Adams Rubble: meanwhile the CPU is also operating all those systems in the rest of the body
Riddle Sideways: mostly. e.g. the network NIC card handles the first few levels for the CPU so that it does not have to get that mundance
Riddle Sideways: those Crontab processes parked and only awaking to say "it has been some random seconds near 15 minutes"
Riddle Sideways: ring da beel
Riddle Sideways: the parallels between a body-mind and this darn blam computter is very tempting
Adams Rubble: Appreciate the Presence of Appearances in our Brain as Presentation of Being
Riddle Sideways: APABPB
--BELL--
Adams Rubble: I forgot to mention that I must leave at the hour
Riddle Sideways: the Appreciation for the (discrete hardware gates)(individual nerve cell) that only sends it's signal when (the pad touchs onto Mars)(the toe stubs into a door jam)
Adams Rubble: it is tempting to wax poetically or recite one of the Psalms
Adams Rubble: I do hope you have a very good day
Riddle Sideways: or recall and relate that amusing antidote that grampa use to tell
Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: have a very good day Planned
Riddle Sideways: hope you get yours
Riddle Sideways: by All
Adams Rubble: when gramps had finished building the school
Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: bye for now :)
Riddle Sideways: :_
Adams Rubble: maybe on Thursday we could meet at the old pavilion
Adams Rubble: or go there from here
Riddle Sideways: ok
Riddle Sideways: maybe
Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: bye for now
