    Riddle Sideways: good morning Adams
Adams Rubble: good morning Riddle :)
Riddle Sideways: nice outfit and hat. what does it celebrate or mean?
Adams Rubble: getting ready for jaunt this afternoon
    Riddle Sideways: ok
    Adams Rubble: :)

Adams Rubble: I did get a chance to look at latest chapter of Alexandria this week
Riddle Sideways: is ok, no test
    Adams Rubble: that's good

Adams Rubble: thinking lots about pilgrimages this week
Adams Rubble: trying to pull it all together

Riddle Sideways: that was a pretty good class. This Monday was the last class and not sure it will send the recording
    Adams Rubble: awww
Riddle Sideways: Christianity does not come out so fair in this week's lessons
Adams Rubble: It is a nice thing about the cpursera courses that so much is made available for downloading-at least in the classes I took
Riddle Sideways: Plus there were undertones (never stated) of parallels to modern times

Adams Rubble: people have so often ignored the fact that religion is a personal experience with God/Being
Adams Rubble: when it is used for the goals of the leaders of the State, things go badly
Adams Rubble: when dogma is more important than compassion, things go badly
Riddle Sideways: yep, that is mostly the problems that happened to Alexandria, Rome, Christianity
Adams Rubble: things got centered in Constantinople
    Adams Rubble: whoops, and Rome
Riddle Sideways: no room for Classics, intelligent debate nor science
Adams Rubble: It gets difficult when we look through the modern lens and take sides
       --BELL--
Adams Rubble: sometimes difficult to be dispassionate when reading and writing history
Adams Rubble: studying architecture, I keep switchihng sides :)

Riddle Sideways: /so many thoughts not written just now
    Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: was waiting so see what you would say
Riddle Sideways: all sounding like soapbox material
Riddle Sideways: the 3rd century Rome had so many leadership changes, some lasting only a week
    Adams Rubble: yes
Riddle Sideways: and each rewrote the histories
Adams Rubble: the history of the emperors we know is through Suetonius who hated them all :)

Adams Rubble: the one question I keep asking is that if they were so distracted with their quarrels, how did they manage to govern an empire
Riddle Sideways: mostly didn't, just inertia
Adams Rubble: that is possible for a time but this happened over hundreds of years
Adams Rubble: not an ideal form of government of course
Adams Rubble: Trump was a real lesson of incompetance of course but he greatly weakened his country in just 4 years
Riddle Sideways: a Society is mostly defined as a Community and that can't stand when there is soooo deep a devide
       --BELL--

    Adams Rubble: wb
    Riddle Sideways: crashed
    Riddle Sideways: overheated
Adams Rubble: I am sorry but glad you didn;t leave because I said something wrong
    Riddle Sideways: nope.
Riddle Sideways: maybe was typing something that it needed to sensure
Riddle Sideways: computer only likes good thoughts
Adams Rubble: so does my tummy
Riddle Sideways: needs it's Happy place
Riddle Sideways: sorry, laptop was restarting to strange places
Adams Rubble: sorry your laptop is not happy

Riddle Sideways: there was a ruler in Alexandria that whipped the mobs up to do the dirty work
Riddle Sideways: and the books that had survived the big library fire
Riddle Sideways: were later burned too
Riddle Sideways: hard to tell the mob that that is the last scientific book
Adams Rubble: the mob would be delighted
Riddle Sideways: there was more than blind faith
Riddle Sideways: the thought that any human could perhaps figure out how the cosmos worked
Riddle Sideways: was the sin of Pride
       --BELL--
Riddle Sideways: but, that was way back in history
Riddle Sideways: and so much of what went on is not seen in the modern lens
Riddle Sideways: good thing that we repeat history
    Riddle Sideways: mistakes

Adams Rubble: I am going to have to go. I have an appointment to make my own mistakes :)
Riddle Sideways: thank you for your time today
Adams Rubble: I hope you have a good day and another one tomorrow
