    Accepting Death

Adams Dubrovna: If you saw the blog this morning you will know I am reading a life of the Buddha by Thich Nhat Hanh
Riddle Sideways: yep read that. started saying 2 books
Riddle Sideways: then got really interresting toward the end
Riddle Sideways: that cross over from reflections to Buddha, to reflections of Christian G-d
Adams Dubrovna: I could have said the Judeo-Christian God
Adams Dubrovna: accepting death and everything else that comes our way despite our best efforts
Adams Dubrovna: trying to see how we fit in
Adams Dubrovna: seeing the bigger picture
Riddle Sideways: the bigger picture of how you described Buddha
Riddle Sideways: and the bigger picture of described J-C G-d
Riddle Sideways: how the same and different and meeting places
Adams Dubrovna: how we have to drop attachments
Adams Dubrovna: that distort our view of reality
    --BELL--
Riddle Sideways: and the difference of Western and Eastern explanations (maybe)
Adams Dubrovna: I like to see the similarities rather than the differences
Adams Dubrovna: at the core we are observing the same things
Adams Dubrovna: but like you say, different explanations
Riddle Sideways: hmmm, could read you saying that they were the same places/things
Adams Dubrovna: we all try to understand death
Riddle Sideways: yet, these are the end lessons of very long stories to get the reader there
Adams Dubrovna: we might realize there is no life without death
Adams Dubrovna: we might differ on the explanation of where life comes from
Adams Dubrovna: Joyce Kilmer said only God could make a tree
Adams Dubrovna: we certainly can't :)
Riddle Sideways: we read about no life without death over and over, yet still have to discover it ourselves
    Adams Dubrovna nods
Adams Dubrovna: we can look and consider how our life is like a flower or a tree
Riddle Sideways: yep. Read a lot of those passages too
    Adams Dubrovna: :)
Riddle Sideways: Consider the blades of grass
Riddle Sideways: and G-d made a vine to grow up over the stall for shade
Riddle Sideways: and it was good

Attachment to Desire or Living with Less

Adams Dubrovna: is the following about dropping our attachments to desire?
    Adams Dubrovna:

25 Therefore I say unto you, Be not anxious for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than the food, and the body than the raiment? 26 Behold the birds of the heaven, that they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; and your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are not ye of much more value than they? 27 And which of you by being anxious can add one cubit unto the measure of his life? 28 And why are ye anxious concerning raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: 29 yet I say unto you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 But if God doth so clothe the grass of the field, which to-day is, and to-morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? 31 Be not therefore anxious, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 For after all these things do
Adams Dubrovna: the Gentiles seek; for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33 But seek ye first his kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 34 Be not therefore anxious for the morrow: for the morrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

    Adams Dubrovna: Matthew 6:25-34
    --BELL--
Riddle Sideways: can read that and hear it is true and still is a hard lesson to learn
Riddle Sideways: and Yet, it is an easy lesson that you already Know
    Adams Dubrovna: yes
Adams Dubrovna: we like to go to the supermarket once a week
Riddle Sideways: maybe it is off in the Monkey Mind that can't be told to Stop Thinking of your next meal
Adams Dubrovna: foods beyond anything contemplated by the people who wrote these things
Adams Dubrovna: packaged in four coats of plastics
Adams Dubrovna: most of which can not be recycled
    Adams Dubrovna: hmmm
Adams Dubrovna: where AM I going
Riddle Sideways: all those words about your Day of Fasting. amd all just bring up "Feed Me"
Adams Dubrovna: we learn that from cats
Riddle Sideways: Personally, it goes back to learning it while biking up a long hill years and years ago
Riddle Sideways: mid afternoon and worried about supper that night
    Riddle Sideways: have no food
Riddle Sideways: sill pumping the bike up yet another long hill
Riddle Sideways: look over at the scenery
Riddle Sideways: stop thinking of a maybe future and SEE the persnet
    Adams Dubrovna: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WFsLorZpt6M
Riddle Sideways: See the wild strawbeerries
Riddle Sideways: stop the bike and pick some of the straberries and thank Being for their presents and appearance
    Adams Dubrovna: :)
    Adams Dubrovna: appreciation
    Riddle Sideways: yes!
Riddle Sideways: think of my story often
Riddle Sideways: yet, it was personal. How could that be set in words that others would '[GET'
Adams Dubrovna: so many people are always hungry
    Adams Dubrovna: we forget them
Riddle Sideways: To the people who are staving say "Behold the birds of the heaven, that they sow not, neither do they reap..."
Riddle Sideways: whoops that don't do it
Adams Dubrovna: best just to give them some food :)
Riddle Sideways: the words are good, but fail
    --BELL--
    Adams Dubrovna nods
Adams Dubrovna: during the p[ause I remembered that you were feeding the hungry on Thursdays. Are you still doing that?
Riddle Sideways: good to have Words to eat that bring thoughts to digest
    Riddle Sideways: Yes, go today
