Eden Haiku: Ah yes, it smells like...looking for the word... My mind is blank.

Adams Rubble: Is there no way to keep the sound on in the new Firestorm?
    Adams Rubble: microphone on?
Eliza Madrigal: I'm still using a hybrid and never use voice, so unsure :(
Riddle Sideways: haven't tried the newest
Adams Rubble: that seems an odd step backwards
    Riddle Sideways: and voice
Eden Haiku: Didn't try microphone on the new Firestorm....
Riddle Sideways: haven't been to Xir's chat in a month or more
Adams Rubble: no mandalas to transverse upstairs :)

    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Eden Haiku: smiles
Adams Rubble: it is a beautiful day here in rl with a little touch of Spring in the air

Eden Haiku: Oh my God! Just reading your email Adams, and realizing what you just said. It was at 3pm and I was home :(((Missed it just cause I can't count
    Eliza Madrigal smiles @ Riddle
Adams Rubble: thinking much about the Oriville Dam and the people below
Riddle Sideways: yes, felt that way too. could have been there. had electricty and connections
Eden Haiku: My mind is playing tricks on me these days, I wonder what is going on in my brain.Left one seems to be disabled :(

Eden Haiku: Was looking for Eliza's mail about the new WoLe reading assignment. Didn't find it yet,,,,
Eliza Madrigal: perhaps more going on than left can keep organized notes of
Adams Rubble: It is good Dubrovna got the time right

Adams Rubble: when is this big storm hitting?
Eden Haiku: oh wow, Riddle, that’s quite a situation over there!
Riddle Sideways: Dubrovna has a better mind that most the rest of us
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Adams Rubble: speak for yourself. hehe
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, I'll share that Eden, no worries. It is basically Winnicott's 4 dialectics...
    Riddle Sideways: oh yeah, was
    Eden Haiku: Applauds Dubrona! **********Applause!!**********
    Eden Haiku: **********Applause!!**********

    Read until Reverie happens

Eden Haiku: You mean Winnie's dialectics? hehe
    Eliza Madrigal: haha
Eliza Madrigal: Pooh's Dialectics would be an interesting book :)
Eliza Madrigal: The section of reading this week is a little longer than others, however makes sense within the scope of the topic of four Winnicottian dialectics. We'll see how it goes in discussion, and will extend by a week if beneficial. :) Beginning: [Loc 404] or excerpt: Ogden (1992b) also addresses Klein’s concept of projective identification and its interpenetrating nature as the interpersonal component of the dialectic of integration and reintegration of the subject, but his attention turns mainly to Bion’s modification of Klein’s concept in terms of the container-contained concept. To: [Loc 455] Reverie
Eliza Madrigal:I didn't realize I forgot to update the main outline page - thanks for that
Riddle Sideways:so, read until Reverie happens
Eliza Madrigal: good rule of thumb!
Eden Haiku: Have been sorting the different files of manuscripts of my novel in about 6 banker boxes for the last 10 days or so. It seems to be affecting my mind. I guess it's the process of "letting go" of the book.  A friend of mine says its the "post-partum" syndrome.
Eden Haiku: smiles at Ridde's realistic comment :)

    Jainism

Adams Rubble: hard to let go of big projects
    Eliza Madrigal: mhm...
Eden Haiku: Do you experience something like that, now that the exhibit is on Adams?
Adams Rubble:Dubrovna is wandering about in a daze
Eliza Madrigal: I realized after the exhibit... well, during, that I need to learn more about Jainism. I know only the surface level about ahimsa... what everyone knows I guess. The exhibit doesn't go into that but the few images were captivating. Although not trying to give Adams more projects...hehe
Eden Haiku: Oh, Jainism is so interesting yes :)
Adams Rubble: the people at the local Jain temple were so friendly and helpful. A man gave a personal two hour tour
    Eliza Madrigal: a nearby treasure
Eden Haiku: remembers seeing some Jains with masks on so they wouldn't, breathe insects on Malabar Hill in Mumbai. Stern Ahimsa :)
Adams Rubble:they found us lingering outside the door and invited us in
Adams Rubble: yes, they do not want to harm any living beeings
    Eden Haiku: How sweet!
    Eliza Madrigal: nice
Adams Rubble: will not eat green vegetables
    Eden Haiku: No?
    Eliza Madrigal: oh?
Adams Rubble: I don't know why they make that distinction
    Eliza Madrigal: too alive?
    Eden Haiku: maybe yes...
Eden Haiku: Read a funny article in the paper this morning
    Eden Haiku: About paleo lifestyle
Eden Haiku: Heard about the diet
Eden Haiku: Lifetyle is not taking a shower more than once a week
    Eliza Madrigal: @@
Eden Haiku: No soap, no shampoo, no washing of clothes
Eden Haiku: My companion suggested we try that for a year
    Adams Rubble: :)
    Eden Haiku: I laughed :)
Riddle Sideways: good for drought areas
Adams Rubble: Some people used to think baths were unhealthy
Eliza Madrigal: Can't imagine in Miami
    Eden Haiku: very ecological indeed
Eliza Madrigal: :) ecological if not planning to have book signings and socialize with others maybe
Eden Haiku: But I agree that cosmetics like soaps and shampoos aren’t really safe. I use the organic kinds. Mostly...
Eliza Madrigal: so many things to make 'better' choices about
Eden Haiku: Thank you for the readings parameters Eliza :)
Eliza Madrigal: have read that some cosmetic companies are returning to animal testing, that had been scaling back
Eden Haiku: Won't be able to attend this afternoon but will do my best to be there on Thursday.  If I don't think it's Friday....
    Eliza Madrigal grins
Eliza Madrigal: I'm planning to host today but am a little scattered so hopefully no one has high expectations :))
Eden Haiku: Back to animal testing, back to ahimsa. Sorry I changed the suject of jainism...
    Riddle Sideways: nope, no expectations

    A disturbing article (about 4chan)

Eliza Madrigal:I read a fascinating but disturbing article this morning, about 4chan...
    Eden Haiku: Listening
Eliza Madrigal: and it is answering some questions about my son as well, so, feeling some worries about wanting to trust to good instincts/critical thinking etc
Eliza Madrigal: it is a long article, but worthwhile to connect dots
Eden Haiku: "4 chan is a simple image-based board"
Riddle Sideways: maybe the next link Eden
    Eliza Madrigal: https://medium.com/@DaleBeran/4chan-the-skeleton-key-to-the-rise-of-trump-624e7cb798cb#.cr0a4c129
Eden Haiku: Thank you Eliza :)
Riddle Sideways: good, needed more reading material
    Eliza Madrigal: yw :)
Eliza Madrigal: lol Riddle... but totally worthwhile in this case
    Adams Rubble: :)
Eliza Madrigal: I guess many things are
Eliza Madrigal: :) but I'm still trying to figure out the world I thought I was understanding okay before

    Riddle Sideways: :)
Eden Haiku: I understand very well the "something like that" feeling....
    Eliza Madrigal smiles
    Riddle Sideways: alternate realities
    Riddle Sideways: augmented realities
    Eden Haiku: fake news
    Eden Haiku: Skeleton keys
Riddle Sideways: "Everything you know, is
Eliza Madrigal: "my news is as good as your news"
    Riddle Sideways: Wrong"

    --BELL--

Eliza Madrigal: extra refreshing pause :)
Riddle Sideways: Both conflicting facts are correct
Eden Haiku: Reading the beginning of article during the pause. Scary indeed,,,
Riddle Sideways: maybe not something for Eden to read
Eden Haiku:"how did a website about anime become the avant garde of the far right?"
Eliza Madrigal: yes don't want to disturb... yet for me it connected so many dots
Eden Haiku: Is you son using the anime website?
    Riddle Sideways: ok now intrigued
Eliza Madrigal: more about our times I think, than trump himself
Adams Rubble is still reading on the dark side
Eliza Madrigal: what is that, Adams?
Eden Haiku: The only way I keep my mental health these days is by walking 2 to 3 hours a day in the snow, emptying my mind, breathing and contemplating blue skies,
Eliza Madrigal: Snow! That's what I need. :))
Eden Haiku: Come pay a visit up here Eliza :)
Eliza Madrigal: snow and renunciation are closely linked... the symbol of retreat
Eliza Madrigal: actually I showed my son an ice hotel in Montreal... he said he's up for it, hah
    Eden Haiku: hehe
Eliza Madrigal: or maybe it was in Quebec city
Eden Haiku: There is one in Montreal too I think.
Eden Haiku: Though, I rather enjoy sleeping in a warm room with the window open :)
    Eliza Madrigal grins
Eden Haiku: With two down duvets on the bed :)
    Eliza Madrigal: sighs, nice
Riddle Sideways:and 2 cats on legs and head
Adams Rubble: This article is not making sense to me
Eden Haiku: But you get tired of walking on icy sidewalks :( A downside to everything...
Eliza Madrigal: very difficult to sleep with dog sometimes, on a twin that is not quite long enough... but excellent foot warmer
    Adams Rubble: ice very dangerous
Eden Haiku: I miss having a cat so much....
    Eliza Madrigal: :(
Eden Haiku: And meeting many people walking dogs on my walks, I started wanting one :).
Eliza Madrigal: :) I want more now... an army of dachshunds....
    Riddle Sideways: don't give in
    Eliza Madrigal laughs
Eden Haiku: So I have both: cat's envy and dog's envy....
Eden Haiku: And army of dachshunds hehe
Eliza Madrigal: would be harder to sleep then....
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Eden Haiku: Too warm
Eliza Madrigal: the article is super long and doesn't close all the ends, but I've seen the edges of a lot he talks about there, and the way online discourse changed, seemingly so fast, with trolls arriving and targeting in such concentrated numbers to shut things down
Eliza Madrigal:honestly I don't want to feel like I need to be as informed as lately I do :)
Eden Haiku: We need to learn new ways to handle all the information coming to us...
Eden Haiku: All this is very disturbing
Eliza Madrigal: yes... was interesting to hear Maxine say she was already working on another book... about this
Eliza Madrigal:everyone finding some balance of being alert yet not hooked in to lost perspective
Riddle Sideways: more and more comedians are going on about this
Eden Haiku: Haven't have a chance to read the session yet. That' s interesting to learn she will be writing about that,

    --BELL--

    Each day is a gift

Eliza Madrigal: definitely need smart comedians :)
Eliza Madrigal: miss J Stewart every day
Eden Haiku: Yes, we don't want to be sleepy about the issues, yes we need to protect our sanity.
    Riddle Sideways: yesw
    Eliza Madrigal: right, Eden!
Adams Rubble: much of it is emptiness :)
Eden Haiku: Exactly Adams. We are being manipulated into the chaos.
Eliza Madrigal: I think for me it means giving up FB, which isn't so easy since there are people there I see nowhere else ...
    Riddle Sideways: yes
Riddle Sideways: and much is repetition. And noise to cover other stuff
    Eliza Madrigal: true
Eden Haiku: I don't have problems like that on Twitter, I'm careful though and I block any alt-right propaganda.
Riddle Sideways: the FCC stuff got hidden
Adams Rubble:we need to remember to wake each morning and remember that each day is a gift
Adams Rubble: although much of this stuff is very very serious we need to not get obsessed with it all
    Riddle Sideways: thank you
Eden Haiku: yes, back to real things Adams. Back to what is important, And gratefulness.
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Adams Rubble just remembers not to get on her soapbox
    Eliza Madrigal: 'real things'
    Adams Rubble: whoops
Riddle Sideways: careful soapbox is slippery
    Eden Haiku: :)
    Adams Rubble picks herself up
Eden Haiku: I feel we are many searching for new ways to handle these times.
Eliza Madrigal laughs... I got so mad at people for posting 'be positive, not political' memes ... haha, I know they are supposed to do just the opposite... and yes, I do think it is right... to come at it all from a 'today is a gift' reality
Eden Haiku: So soapboxing us is fine Adams. Anything goes.
Eliza Madrigal: I appreciate thoughtful soapboxing, coming from perspective, reminding of proportion
Eden Haiku: We need to be reminded to take a deep breath sometimes.
Adams Rubble: the young people need help
Eden Haiku: Our nervous systems are fusing with anxiety
Riddle Sideways:was found agreeing with Michael Moore over "Comedy might be the only answer to these times"
Riddle Sideways: not just Laughter is best medicine
Eliza Madrigal: may be place to find flashes of deeper truth, Riddle?
Riddle Sideways: but, some agrueing can't stand up to humour
Eden Haiku: Friends traveling in Sri Lanka right now are WhatsApping videos of elephants, beautiful frangipane flowers. It makes me breathe.
Adams Rubble: comedy helps. Jon Oliver eviscerated Putin last night
Eliza Madrigal: oooh, like your snowy photos do
    Eden Haiku: :)
Eliza Madrigal: humor is also better on FB, some people are very clever
    Eliza Madrigal: twitter I mean
Eden Haiku: Putin has been there for ages...
Eliza Madrigal: Thanks you all... somehow being here feels both sane and aware
Riddle Sideways:smilling at a pair of mallards on the pond
Eden Haiku: Thank you Eliza! have a nice cool day!
Eliza Madrigal: am going to walk the george again ... ^.^
    Eliza Madrigal: ♥ ♥ ♥
Adams Rubble: bye Eliza. Have a great day
    Riddle Sideways: hi George
Eden Haiku: Say hi to the mallards Riddle :)

Riddle Sideways: just did, for you
