The Guardian for this meeting was Bruce Mowbray. The comments are by Bruce Mowbray.

    stevenaia Michinaga: greetings Bruce

    Bruce Mowbray: Greetings!

Bruce Mowbray: Enjoying this fine spring day?

stevenaia Michinaga: yes, doing some house cleaning, finding old photos :)

stevenaia Michinaga: of friends both living and dead

    Bruce Mowbray: I understand.

Bruce Mowbray: Most of the folks in my photos are, of course, dead.

Bruce Mowbray: Have folks been paying their annual... uh "fee"?

stevenaia Michinaga: was just looking, 4 have so far

Bruce Mowbray: That happens when one hits 75.

Bruce Mowbray: Well, that will be a GM item, I hope.

stevenaia Michinaga: 75, these were all in their 50-60's

    Bruce Mowbray nods.

Bruce Mowbray: I'm very glad that I've taken lots of photos all along the way.

Bruce Mowbray: They serve my memory well.

Bruce Mowbray: Especially with memories from travels.

Bruce Mowbray: I'd otherwise forget the visuals and just remember the feelings.

stevenaia Michinaga: yes, these were "real" photos that fall to the bottom of the box and can be found randomly in the future, something that doesn't happen with digital pixs

    Bruce Mowbray nods.

Bruce Mowbray: I've given almost all of my "real photos" to my sister and/or her kids.

Bruce Mowbray: (now in their late 20's and early 30's.

stevenaia Michinaga: we scan them and pass them on

stevenaia Michinaga: nice to be able to share so easily

Bruce Mowbray: Yes, I scanned all of my photos too, before giving them to sister and nephew, niece.

Bruce Mowbray: Will you be able to see the solar eclipse from where you live?

    Bruce Mowbray: August 21st.

stevenaia Michinaga: My mother is moving out of her house soon, boxes and boxes of her and her parent's photos to go through

    Bruce Mowbray: Oh dear.

stevenaia Michinaga: no it will be south of us

    Bruce Mowbray: ahhh.

stevenaia Michinaga: I know someone in SC who will be right on the path

Bruce Mowbray: My typist has reserved a motel room in Kentucky -- just a few miles from longest duration...

    --BELL--

    stevenaia Michinaga: nice

Bruce Mowbray: He has also bought protective eyewear.

Bruce Mowbray: So, all ready to go.

stevenaia Michinaga: were they wondering why everyone was booking for that day?

Bruce Mowbray: Well, through Expedia I was able to find a room about 30 miles away from the totality path.

Bruce Mowbray: All other motels were totally booked already.

Bruce Mowbray: Still over four months away.

Bruce Mowbray: I didn't speak to any people -- just did the reservations digitally through Expedia.

stevenaia Michinaga: I just find it amazing that the "ancients" were able to predict such things

Bruce Mowbray: So, don't know if anyone was wondering...

Bruce Mowbray: Yes, it is truly amazing.

Bruce Mowbray: Even if the eclipses came at regular intervals, they would not occur at the same place on the earth's surface.

Bruce Mowbray: I'm also amazed that WE can make such predictions.

Bruce Mowbray: Plus, the exact point of longest duration and greatest coverage of the sun.

Bruce Mowbray: (which I will be only a few miles away from).

Bruce Mowbray: Eliza is calling us to the GM.

stevenaia Michinaga: was reading about an island off the English Jersey coast that was "occupied" over 200,000 years ago, nice that they left their trash and liths for us to find

stevenaia Michinaga: yes, see you there

    Bruce Mowbray: Wow.

    Bruce Mowbray: kk.
