Adams, Eden and Riddle reconnecting
Swooners
Eden Haiku: Good morning Riddle!
Riddle Sideways: oh Hello! did not see you come in
Eden Haiku: giggles at Riddle's ‘ex-machina god’ tag
Riddle Sideways: You are back
Eden Haiku: I used "last location", that's why you didn’t see me. I just appeared!
Eden Haiku: How are you this morning?
Riddle Sideways: poof! so much for watching the sidewalk
Eden Haiku: giggles
Riddle Sideways: mmm, still sleepy. body does not agree with the clocks
Riddle Sideways:Wants to hear all about Cuba
Eden Haiku: I practised sitting at the fountain in this new dress yesterday night, that's why I am not sitting next to you. Animations aren't the same :)
Eden Haiku:Cuba was WONDERFUL
Eden Haiku: The beach is the very best: Varadero.
Eden Haiku: Was there first in 1974 and it is still a long, mild beach. Oh, thanks Riddle, you have no wardrobe issue sitting :) [Riddle had moved seats so he now was sitting next to me]
Riddle Sideways: Hello Adams
Adams Rubble: Eden is back!!!
Adams Rubble: Hello Eden and Riddle :)
Eden Haiku: Thought how lucky you are living in a mild weather :) god morning elegant Adams!
Eden Haiku: *good (ex-machina god is at my left :)
Adams Rubble: god morning to you too :)
Eden Haiku: Oh! the tag changed...
Eden Haiku: Riddle was asking me about Cuba :)
Eden Haiku: People are so warm there. They look into your eyes, the smile, they swoon, they joke, they have a sparkle in their eye!
Riddle Sideways:swooners
Eden Haiku: I mainly met Cubans working at the hotel so it's part of their job to be welcoming: musicians, garderners, pool guys, beach attendants, security guards, chambermaids :)
Eden Haiku: My companion speaks fluent Spanish and I could manage too so it helps a lot. The connection is easier.
Riddle Sideways: did you get out into the country and villages?
Eden Haiku: We took a toy train to the little town but we didn't stop there: it was mainly shops for tourists. I prefer the beaches :)
Eden Haiku: So no, I didn't interact with people outside of our hotel "bubble"
--BELL--
Revolution, marketplace vs shops, snowstorm and 99 days project
Eden Haiku: That would be another trip. But I'm reading a book by a journalist who did just that, Travel into the "real" Cuba :)
Eden Haiku: At the hotel, we wanted to watch the Oscars last Sunday I think it was, on March 4th.
Eden Haiku: We couldn't find a channel on our satellite tv in our room so we asked someone in the lobby.
Eden Haiku: He was the pool guy but was also switching the channels on the huge lobby TV.
Eden Haiku: He told us to come on that day and that he would try to find a channel with the Oscars.
Eden Haiku: So he switched and switched for us: a China channel, another chinese channel, a channel from Venezuela, a channel about Che Guevera. CNN.
Eden Haiku: I made a remark: no American stars there...
Riddle Sideways: nope
Eden Haiku: He joked: "Cuba television esta "revolucion, revolucion, revolucion" and we all laughed :)
Adams Rubble: :)
Eden Haiku: What have been up too yourselves?
Riddle Sideways: nothing exciting. just waiting for your return
Adams Rubble: :)
Eden Haiku: hehe :)
Adams Rubble: and here she is.....
Riddle Sideways: Adams brought great topics
Eden Haiku: So easy to shop on marketplace directly on secondlife.com, I can't thank you enough for that tip Adams :)
Adams Rubble: :)
Eden Haiku: Great topics?
Riddle Sideways: have you always shopped in the shops?
Riddle Sideways: and not the market place
Eden Haiku: Yep, I used to TP there, walk into walls, fall into ponds, never find dresses...
Riddle Sideways: hahahaha
Adams Rubble: :)
Eden Haiku: It took me some 9 years to find out about marketplace...
Eden Haiku: Slow SL learner :)
Adams Rubble: nah, you learned much just to get this far :)
Riddle Sideways: just discovered going to stores
Riddle Sideways: went zipping through stores with San Friday
Adams Rubble: men's clothing has been slow to develop and women's clothing is just getting more and more bizarre
Riddle Sideways: must be where the tag came from
Riddle Sideways: right. almost no men's cloths
Eden Haiku: I see you held the sessions Adams, thank you! Haven't read yet. Just got here on Wednesday and still adjusting.
Adams Rubble: I hope you haven't been getting all the nor'easters
Adams Rubble: today our third one in 11 days
Riddle Sideways: those are mostly coastal?
Eden Haiku: Wow!
Eden Haiku: We will be getting snow tomorrow and Wednesday. From the East Coast...
Riddle Sideways: sister in Buffalo did not get any of them
Eden Haiku: I see the 99 days projectof 30 days is starting Thursday. Are you going to contribute?
--BELL--
Ground breaking
Riddle Sideways: oh, right. it is coming soon
Riddle Sideways: Hope Eden does contribute. love to read the haikus
Eden Haiku: Not sure if it will be haikus :)
Riddle Sideways: is a good way to change habits in 30 days
Riddle Sideways: looks around to find any habits wanted to be changed
Eden Haiku: Maybe about breaking some new ground every day for 30 days :)
Adams Rubble: as long as one is not breaking ground mindlessly to dig ruts
Eden Haiku: Yesterday, I worked all morning on some work for an invitation I got for a poetry reading next Summer then I helped my friend with his own bio, sending photos and so on. He did get a response. I didn't.
Adams Rubble: yikes
Eden Haiku: I wondered how it was that he worked about 10 minutes and I for hours and I was the one with no feedback.
Riddle Sideways: hmmmm
Eden Haiku: Got so paranoid even though the guy inviting us is a friend.
Riddle Sideways: you got an invite to be in the poetry reading here next month
Eden Haiku: Then I broke some new ground: I decided to email him: did he get my email? Even though I was afraid he might think I was hysterical or insecure for asking...
Riddle Sideways: and?
Eden Haiku: He responded minutes later: he thought he had given me his response, said was sorry, with 60 poets emailing him he got confused...
Eden Haiku: So I felt better...
Eden Haiku: Was glad I asked.
Riddle Sideways: ah good ground breaking
Adams Rubble: :)
Eden Haiku: For poetry reading here, I'm not sure. It depends when it is and how it’s done.
Riddle Sideways: Calvino and Aph are putting it together
Riddle Sideways: up at the theater
Eden Haiku: I see.
Riddle Sideways: maybe they forgot to send you the email
Riddle Sideways: ㋡
Eden Haiku: Didn't read my mail yet...
--BELL--
Tempus fugit: springing forward, inner clocks and the Internet of Things
Riddle Sideways: Googled Varadero, so very beautiful
Eden Haiku: Will be very busy. My 91 yo mother-in-law is moving into a residence and we are going to help her settle in her new home. And I have to organize our next trip to Paris for the Poetry Festival over there.
Riddle Sideways: does not have to be an original nor big deal
Eden Haiku: Yes, Varadero is such a beautiful beach, I made great photos. Too bad they get upside down in logs. Is there a way they have photos posted correctly?
Riddle Sideways:but, save the date for the party
Eden Haiku: Sure. partying is always fun. Is it on April 1st?
Riddle Sideways: can't find that right off
Eden Haiku: No problem Riddle. Will get to read my mail :)
Riddle Sideways:found... April 14
Eden Haiku: Ah! Thanks!
Eden Haiku: Making a note on phone calendar :)
Riddle Sideways: april 1 is the shadow boxes installed in gallery
Eden Haiku: Ah!
Eden Haiku: And you are working on a new exhibit Adams aren't you?
Adams Rubble: D has no new exhibits planned--busy in RL
Eden Haiku: Unfortunately, I will miss the party. I will be at the Quebec Book Fair 13-14-15 of April.
Riddle Sideways: :(
Eden Haiku: Ah, D is busy in RL...
Riddle Sideways: RL happens
Eden Haiku: But I'm attending the dream session this week at 1pm. :) [was wrong but Riddle corrected me: dream session is at noon SLT]
Adams Rubble: exciting project in RL
Riddle Sideways: 12
Riddle Sideways: or maybe it moved to 1
Riddle Sideways: for you
Eden Haiku: 12 noon, right,. Sorry. I had RL MY time correct 3 pm for me :)
Riddle Sideways: mad at time zones and DST
Eden Haiku: No, I checked we have same time change. You also sprang time forward this week end didn't you?
Adams Rubble: I am told we saved some time :)
Riddle Sideways: yes. however didn't sprang very easily this morning
Riddle Sideways: getting easier to change all the clocks in the house
Riddle Sideways: most set themselves now
Eden Haiku: Yes, it's confusing for a few days...
Adams Rubble: some change themselves now :)
Riddle Sideways: too dark. too early today
Eden Haiku: Yes, electronic devices are very autonomous but watches aren't yet :)
Riddle Sideways: Fitbit watch changed itself
Eden Haiku: yesterday, I left home at 3 for my 10K steps walk and at 4 o'clock, when I looked at my watch, I felt time was very s.l.o.w.
Riddle Sideways: and got confused on sleep registering
Eden Haiku: Then I realized it was 5 o’clock on my phone. I had been walking for 2 hours already, no wonder time seemed so slow...
Riddle Sideways: all in your perception
Eden Haiku: Didn’t find the perfect FItBit watch yet. I want one with a pink bracelet :)
Riddle Sideways: ㋡ the bands are switchable
--BELL--
Eden Haiku: Yes, but expensive to switch.
Adams Rubble: back
Riddle Sideways: welcome
Eden Haiku: Ah, the secret lover is in the house :)
Riddle Sideways: (can't say w.b.)
Eden Haiku: giggles
Eden Haiku: Not so funny, sorry Adams :(
Adams Rubble: It's OK Eden :)
Eden Haiku: Will refrain next time :)
Riddle Sideways: calendar says the plumber is coming today
Riddle Sideways: electronic calendar
Eden Haiku: Problem with the pipes?
Riddle Sideways: calendar on the wall still is in Feburary
Adams Rubble: :)
Eden Haiku: Very practical!
Adams Rubble: tempus fugit
Riddle Sideways: a big galoot broke the kitchen faucet
Eden Haiku: yerk!
Riddle Sideways: it had a life time gaurentee
Eden Haiku: aargh...
Riddle Sideways: but, it was dead
Riddle Sideways: well, it got replaced for free
Riddle Sideways: just wait 4 weeks
Eden Haiku: Ah, good, but 4 weeks in the kitchen...
Riddle Sideways: water still went on and off ok. just not pointed where ya wanted
Eden Haiku: Did you notice appliances have a tendency to synchronize when they start to break down?
Riddle Sideways: ha! yes
Eden Haiku: My reading lamp by the bed burnt and I couldn't freplace it with a regular bulb. Didn’t find any in nearby shops. Had to buy a LED bulb. Which is not so good for your eyes because of the blue rays it emits.,
Riddle Sideways: with IoT the appliances should be able to email the repair people themselves
Eden Haiku: Appliances should learn to repair themselves!
Eden Haiku: When we want AI we want AI all the way :)
Riddle Sideways: Alexa will be happy to order the parts for the refrigorator
Eden Haiku: Yes!
Riddle Sideways: well folks... RL is starting to happen
Adams Rubble: Okidoke
Riddle Sideways: thanks for the chat
Eden Haiku: Rl happens :) Have a nice day!
Adams Rubble: I hope you both have very good days :)
