    2010.04.22 01:00 - Forgiveness Makes You Happy

Calvino Rabeni: There's a replica traditional country pub here

Calvino Rabeni: RUn by a brit, to feel at home

Zen Arado: yes - you get Irish type pubs everywhere too

Calvino Rabeni: I wanted to go there for liver-and-onions or bangers-and-mash-and-peas

Zen Arado: like the 5 bells

Calvino Rabeni: True, this one very careful, the whole building a tudor exact replica

Zen Arado: what would I do if I only had one year left I wondered?

Calvino Rabeni: There is a temple where the head monk was meditating when he died, and did not change. He is now in a glass case in the parking lot, still in robes and in the lotus position

Calvino Rabeni: The name of the place is something like "Dead Monk Shrine"

Calvino Rabeni: So i would like to die like that while sitting

Calvino Rabeni: I went to a weekend workshop on the theme of "dying well" last fall

Zen Arado: ah what did you take away from it?

Calvino Rabeni: Most of the people's concerns were for their surviving family's wellbeing

Zen Arado: yes - only natural

Calvino Rabeni: That doesn't apply to me, but one takeaway was the idea of coming up with some other kind of legacy rather than deciding that the idea is inapplicable

Calvino Rabeni: Also, throwing a big party or wake, was something people wanted to do, and it became one of my ideas

Zen Arado: what other kind of legacy?

Zen Arado: yes - that sounds good

Calvino Rabeni: Probably doesn't matter exactly what - except to be values-consistent

Calvino Rabeni: Maybe, endow a small scholarship fund at a college

Calvino Rabeni: To assist one student per year, or whatever is feasible

2010.04.22 07:00 - Dreams on Earth Day morning

Yakuzza Lethecus: do you see teachers as teachers storm or still as guides or how do you think about ,,teachers" ?

Storm Nordwind: Yak... when we walk a 'spiritual' path, perhaps it's a little like following a path on a hillside. I guess we often stumble because our view of the path is unclear due to karma. A teacher is simply one with a clearer view of the path, and the direction and the overall vision

Calvino Rabeni: I plan to do some "temple drivebys" on the way out

Calvino Rabeni: There's one, Yaku, made with 1.5 million beer bottles

    http://greenupgrader.com/4262/one-million-beer-bottles-later-and-its-a-buddhist-temple/

    2010.04.22 13:00 - tv series help dropping?

    are distracting?

Yakuzza Lethecus: i don't consider the use good but at least i watch it in english and i think it helps hmm should i really say it, i think even dropping

Yakuzza Lethecus: i even get stuck in some thoughts and watching those helps dissociating but sure it's nothing that solves issues only helps out of a temporal stuckness

    2010.04.22 19:00 - Really just like mould

Bleu Oleander: Hallucinating all the time .... interesting concept

Paradise Tennant: read a good quote lately "life is like a hallucination of all five senses :)"

    2010.04.23 01:00 - Niente

    2010.04.23 07:00 - Yaky-hour and voice in SL

Bleu Oleander: do you think people don't want to use voice as voice would reveal their identity?

    Lucinda Lavender: good question...

Yakuzza Lethecus: Some, but they are free not to join us.

    Bleu Oleander: of course

Yakuzza Lethecus: It is an issue for many ppl in second life not to use voice.

Bleu Oleander: i've encountered many who don't wish to reveal their identities

Bleu Oleander: so don't use voice

Calvino Rabeni: How could you tell whether someone else were about to speak, in order to coordinate?

Zen Arado: how do we do that in RL?

    Zen Arado: body language?

Calvino Rabeni: An important communication method - you look at faces

Yakuzza Lethecus: Body lanugage is a part of it, also the tone of voice

Lucinda Lavender: we used a virtual stone that we verbally say we are opassing to the next person in the circle

Bleu Oleander: at our salons we ask that they type "?" in text and a moderater calls on them

Calvino Rabeni: and they look like "ready to say something"

Zen Arado: yes you could have a symbol that means 'I want to say something'

2010.04.23 13:00 - first sharing of the SF retreat experiences

Pema Pera: One of the explorations we did was suggested by Genesis: while walking around in the city viewing the city life landscape as a kind of "nature" in its own right

    Wol Euler nods

genesis Zhangsun: with "playing as being": what is it that people are doing behind the screens, their thoughts, intentions, in engaging with other participants, what we feel are the core principles, the "code" (loose and informal) about ways of behaving, holding space for discussions

Eos Amaterasu: we discussed things like starting at the end with each person, each situation

    Gender and freedom...

Wol Euler: why should anyone care, when looking at me, whether I am male or female?

    arabella Ella: true

arabella Ella: we are persons first and foremost

Wol Euler: unless they feel that, were I female, they would have some rights over my body or my mind

Wol Euler: perhaps it points to something essential: that we are attracted to persons, not to flesh.

Wol Euler: and SL reveals this.

Zen Arado: we should be free to be how we want

    Wol Euler nods.

Wol Euler: we can practice that here.

Zen Arado: without society frowning on it

arabella Ella: that is part of the beauty of SL

arabella Ella: the freedom it allows us

    2010.04.23 19:00 - Boy bands and Evolution

    2010.04.24 01:00 - A conversation about the weather

Scathach Rhiadra: and 'how to play as being' sounds intriguing too

Yakuzza Lethecus: yes, still that constantly concerns me

Yakuzza Lethecus: how i behave here, how habitual i react

Yakuzza Lethecus: how static am i supposed to be, what changes during the exposure to the ppl here

Yakuzza Lethecus: what can i "talk" about what i couldn't a year back

    Yakuzza Lethecus: Tiny elements.

    Scathach Rhiadra: but universal concerns

    2010.04.24 07:00 - Playful

sophia Placebo: you see poepel talking frendly , joking teasing and laughing togather and you smile widly , kinda contagiouse and you fel kind of rest , kind of relaxation at such scene

sophia Placebo: unlike the tense talk we had arlier where it put you at uneaseness that yo felt the need to express it though undirectly

Bertram Jacobus: do you mean that there are two forms of talks sophia ? good ones and bad ones ?

sophia Placebo: let me see if i can show you something

sophia Placebo: this was a result of my talk with sophia sharon

sophia Placebo: ah there it is

Bertram Jacobus: what about that ? ;-)

sophia Placebo: white dome , dark dome interlacing

sophia Placebo: there is colorfull object at the ineraction

sophia Placebo: to cross see the colofull object , you dont use black nor white telescop but a coorfull one

sophia Placebo: life is colorfull , white and dark , good and bad are our thinking layer , or our interst layer

sophia Placebo: it wasnt of my interset to talk about details of my daily life s that converstation was layerd with black , you find it intersting to bring some more deeper conversation out of existing one so the conversation was layered with white

sophia Placebo: am i making sense ?

    Bertram Jacobus is thinkin ...

sophia Placebo: actually that conversation was that colorful object down there

sophia Placebo: niether good nor bad

Bertram Jacobus: i have impression of that what you write sophia - but with something i seem not to agree , but am not sure, with what ;-)

sophia Placebo: they do exist , they are our thoughts , our plans , our judgment , our outcomes , except it is dark for me and white for you or vice versa or dont exist some times or black for both of us or white for both of us

Calvino Rabeni: Calvino Rabeni wonders what it is all about

Wol Euler: Had a lovely lunch, sushi at a conveyor belt place; walked in sunshine; bought a book.

Calvino Rabeni: I went to a temple at the top of a spire with 1272 steps most 8 to 14 inches, more like a ladder

    Wol Euler: wow

Calvino Rabeni: almost went to Paradise before reachng the top

    Wol Euler: :)

Calvino Rabeni: There is a huge number of caves and spires

Wol Euler: are you still in Thailand, Cal?

Calvino Rabeni: Many inhabited by monks (or monkeys)

Calvino Rabeni: I saw the giant KuanYin also - one of the dieties I personally relate to - although for reasons unbeknownst to me

Calvino Rabeni: There are signs - Please Beware The Monkey Stealing Things

Calvino Rabeni: I got quite lost for a while today

    Wol Euler: mmm?

Calvino Rabeni: This only happens every now and then

Calvino Rabeni: so I like it as an unusual not-knowing

Calvino Rabeni: My mental map was completely wrong, for a while today

Wol Euler: it's odd when that happens, isn't it.

Calvino Rabeni: since I was brought in by cab and I guessed everything wrong

Calvino Rabeni: Then I drove my motorcycle around for about an hour, before a correct mental map was formed

Calvino Rabeni: after that no problem

    2010.04.24 13:00 - Art, or something.

Agatha Macbeth: 'Thinking outside the box'

Archmage Atlantis: Why is it always a box?

SophiaSharon Larnia: Ive never thought of that one

    Agatha Macbeth: Why indeed?

Darren Islar: you never rezzed anything

    stevenaia Michinaga: :)

    SophiaSharon Larnia: boxed in, cornored

Darren Islar: if you don't choose and rezz a prim, you get a box

Agatha Macbeth: Ah, the box is 'default' then?

    Darren Islar: yes

2010.04.24 19:00 - Gaya would have really liked this, and if only Wol could see that"

Pema Pera: it was a very intense retreat

Pema Pera: partly because there were so few people

Pema Pera: it was between 4 and 5, with Genesis present for most but not all the time

Bleu Oleander: too bad Wol and Gaya couldn't come

Pema Pera: and also Stim being there for most but not all the time

Bleu Oleander: it was nice to see Gen the other day

Pema Pera: yes, we all missed Wol and Gaya, and talked about them every day!

    Bleu Oleander: ha!

Pema Pera: like "Gaya would have really liked this"

Pema Pera: and "wow, if only Wol could see that"

Bleu Oleander: what are your interests in sl?

Dao Yheng: Honestly, it's not something I would have chosen for myself

TH Ordinary: what do you mean?

Dao Yheng: actually, in the very early days of the internet, I worked on a couple virtual chat rooms, and found them lacking

Dao Yheng: but I've always studied with my meditation teacher remotely, and have found some of the contacts formed in SL very meaningful in providing a sense of sangha

Dao Yheng: that was actually a surprise to me!
