The Guardian for this meeting was Bruce Mowbray. The comments are by Bruce Mowbray.

    Bruce Mowbray: Hi, Cat.
    Catrinamonblue Resident: Hi Bruce :)
Bruce Mowbray: I'm watching live news coverage of the fire in Oakland.
    Bruce Mowbray: http://abc7news.com/news/at-least-9-dead-25-missing-in-oakland-fire----watch-live/1637912/
Catrinamonblue Resident: oh, I didn't know... I don't watch the news much....
Bruce Mowbray: I used to live in Oakland.
Bruce Mowbray: Well, they are now saying that up to 40 people may have died in the fire.
    Catrinamonblue Resident: oh no..... :'(
    Bruce Mowbray: Yes.
Bruce Mowbray: They still cannot enter the building...
Bruce Mowbray: so not sure how many have died - except 9 for sure.
Bruce Mowbray: So near the holidays, too.
    Catrinamonblue Resident: oh dear.....
    Bruce Mowbray nods.
Bruce Mowbray: We are SOOO connected now.
Catrinamonblue Resident: that’s really hard to hear... so very sad....
Bruce Mowbray: Earlier I was watching the Facebook page...
Catrinamonblue Resident: yes too connected I sometimes feel
Bruce Mowbray: where people were checking in to say they were AK.
    Bruce Mowbray: OK.
Catrinamonblue Resident: at least social media allows for quick communication
Bruce Mowbray: When the big earthquakes hit Nepal,
Catrinamonblue Resident: although that can be bad as well as good
Bruce Mowbray: I used social media to see if some people I knew there were all right.
    Bruce Mowbray: (in Katmandu.)
Catrinamonblue Resident: I hope they are....
Bruce Mowbray: Well, that was three or four years ago.
Bruce Mowbray: Everyone I knew was OK.
Catrinamonblue Resident: oh that's good :)
    Bruce Mowbray: :)
Bruce Mowbray: So, how are you doing today, Cat?
Catrinamonblue Resident: I just watched a documentary about the creator of calvin and hobes
    --BELL--
Bruce Mowbray: Really! Please say more.
    Catrinamonblue Resident: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2222206/
    Bruce Mowbray: Dear Mr. Watterson.
Bruce Mowbray: Looks good. I will download it.
Catrinamonblue Resident: yes :) it was very interesting to see :) it's on Netflix if you have that :)
Bruce Mowbray: I'm not on Netflix but I am a very agile pirate. Arrrr!
Catrinamonblue Resident: I am very in love with Netflix lately, i have been finding so many different movies and documentaries that I would not normally hear about
Bruce Mowbray nods, I've heard that from others.
Bruce Mowbray: I generally download whatever movies i like...
Bruce Mowbray: and then I can watch them whenever i feel like it.
Bruce Mowbray: I have way more than 200 movies saved now.
Bruce Mowbray: Dear Mr. Watterson is available but there are not many seeders, so it would take a L-O-N-G time to bring it down.
Catrinamonblue Resident: Netflix offers the flexibility of watching whenever too :)
Bruce Mowbray: How much does that cost?
Catrinamonblue Resident: Yann downloads a lot of stuff too, he has a drive just for movies :)
    Bruce Mowbray: Me too :)
Catrinamonblue Resident: Netflix for me in Canada is 0.99 per month
    Bruce Mowbray: Heya, Riddle.
    Catrinamonblue Resident: opps 9.99
    Catrinamonblue Resident: hi Riddle :)
    Riddle Sideways: hi All
Bruce Mowbray: kk, about $10 USD.
    Bruce Mowbray: not bad.
Catrinamonblue Resident: Yann just told me has over 750 movies on hiss drive :)
    Bruce Mowbray: OMG!
    Bruce Mowbray: Yikes!
Riddle Sideways: hmmm, not sure what Netflix costs here
Catrinamonblue Resident: that doesn't include tv series which he has too :)
Riddle Sideways: oooo lots of movies
Bruce Mowbray: Probably similar to Canada, I'd think.
Riddle Sideways: any good ones? :)
Bruce Mowbray: I would HOPE so -- out of 750!
Catrinamonblue Resident: Ridle I just watched Dr. Mr. Watterson on netflix :) I was telling Bruce :)
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, I check that movie out on Pirate Bay, but there are very few who have it.
Catrinamonblue Resident: oh yes he has good onessssss:) I haven't really gone through it all yet
Catrinamonblue Resident: sticky ssss key :)
    Bruce Mowbray: :))
Catrinamonblue Resident: mmm my keyboard seems to be not behaving the movie title was Dear Mr. Watterson
    Catrinamonblue Resident: grrrrrrrr
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, about Calvin and Hobbes.
Riddle Sideways: just researched = YES Bill Watterson the Calvin and Hobbs artist
    Bruce Mowbray nods.
Riddle Sideways: writes that down on the to watch list
Catrinamonblue Resident: It was an interesting movie as Mr. Watterson was not in it.. he is a very private individual. I think the movie was very well done and respected his wishes
    Bruce Mowbray nods.
Riddle Sideways: Mr. Watterson quit toooooo early
Riddle Sideways: is it a documentary or comic?
Catrinamonblue Resident: maybe.. but from what he has said he did everything he wanted to do with Calvin and Hobbes
    Catrinamonblue Resident: more documentary
Bruce Mowbray: I've downloaded the torrent and am trying to download the movie, but there is only one seeder, and he apparently is not online.
Catrinamonblue Resident: I didn't meet Calvin and Hobbes until my kids were little. I think we picked up a book in a second hand book store :) I have loved them ever since
Riddle Sideways: Berkeley Breathed quit doing Bloom County too early also
Riddle Sideways: had Calvin and Hobbs books before kids, think so
Catrinamonblue Resident: In the movie they interviewed a number of other comic artists and I think that Berkeley was one of them
    --BELL--
Riddle Sideways: Scott Adams of Dilbert is not shy
    Catrinamonblue Resident: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2222206/
    Bruce Mowbray: :)
    Riddle Sideways: thank you, Bruce
Catrinamonblue Resident: link to the movie IMDB page
Riddle Sideways: all those bright spots on the Sunday Comics pages
Bruce Mowbray thinks he'd have been luck subscribing to Netflix.
Bruce Mowbray: afk for a sec.... brb.
Catrinamonblue Resident: I spend sleepless nights looking through netflix for things to watch :)
Riddle Sideways: yesterday the very nice UPS delivered a TV for the exercise (guest bedroom) room
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Riddle Sideways: putting it up today to watch and distract from pain
Bruce Mowbray: Pain during workouts, Riddle?
    Catrinamonblue Resident: oh dear :(
Riddle Sideways: yes, seem to break up in water droplets during workouts
Riddle Sideways: water just comes out of skin
Riddle Sideways: the house does get warmer then
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Bruce Mowbray: Saves on heating bill?
Riddle Sideways: cold here today, turned on the heat. All 3 cats each are on the heat ducts
Bruce Mowbray: Speaking of heating, Cat and I will soon be experiencing the first major polar vortex of the season.
Bruce Mowbray: Supposed to be below zero by Wednesday.
Bruce Mowbray: My typist will fire up the wood burning stove for the first time this winter.
Riddle Sideways: use to sing "Baby, it's cold outside"
Catrinamonblue Resident: This will be my first winter in Trento On, I have been told there will be less snow than we had in Ottawa... I'm waiting to see
Riddle Sideways: now say polar vortex
Bruce Mowbray: I'm not sure it's actually a vortex -- but it is a BIG cold front.
Catrinamonblue Resident: ah, we have had the heat on a bit over the last few weeks... I get cold easily and need the heat....
Bruce Mowbray feels sorry for those protestors in North Dakota.
Riddle Sideways: yes, was reported they are in snow already
    Bruce Mowbray: Yep.
Catrinamonblue Resident: oh yes...not good :(
Bruce Mowbray: And 2 feet of snow in Hawaii, too!
    Catrinamonblue Resident: what.. really??
    Bruce Mowbray: Yes.
Bruce Mowbray: I will find the link.
Catrinamonblue Resident: we have no snow here as yet, had a little but it melted...
    Bruce Mowbray: https://weather.com/news/news/hawaii...a-kea-dec-2016
    Riddle Sideways: Oakland fire :(
Catrinamonblue Resident: yes that's very sad
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, I was watching the live coverage earlier.
Bruce Mowbray: I was telling Cat that I used to live in Oakland -- but not in that area of town.
Riddle Sideways: Daughter lives almost downtown Oakland now
    Bruce Mowbray: Ahh.
Bruce Mowbray: I used to live near the Caldecott Tunnel.
Riddle Sideways: can't remember if having seen snow on Big Island peak
Riddle Sideways: memory is so shot
Bruce Mowbray: (going through the hills toward Concord, etc.)
Bruce Mowbray: Well, they're saying that the Big Island Peak could get up to three feet.
Riddle Sideways: it is way tall
Bruce Mowbray: This might be due to the atmosphere's holding more moisture....
Riddle Sideways: and it being sooooo cold up there
Riddle Sideways: always cold up there
Bruce Mowbray: Global warming deniers can't understand that warmer air can hold more water vapour, therefore more snow - and more rain, too.
    --BELL--
    Catrinamonblue Resident: nods
Riddle Sideways: education and facts are over rated by many
Bruce Mowbray ponders going outside, finding a lot of snow, and therefore saying global warming is not actually happening.
    Bruce Mowbray: :)
Bruce Mowbray: We live in a post-factual (and a counter-factual) world, apparently.
Bruce Mowbray: Just THINK of all the stuff you could make up and post on Twitter!
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Riddle Sideways: lots of fake-News websites
    Bruce Mowbray: Yeppers.
Bruce Mowbray: Kiddies will need to learn "crap-detection" techniques in grade school....
    Riddle Sideways: BS-detectors
    Bruce Mowbray: Yeppers.
Bruce Mowbray: Problem is that the BS comes in so fast that you don't have time to detect it.
Riddle Sideways: George Carlin was great on that subject
    Bruce Mowbray loved George Carlin.
    Bruce Mowbray: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MvgN5gCuLac
Catrinamonblue Resident: saves link for later :)
Riddle Sideways: ty, will watch later.

    Bruce Mowbray loves this skit.....
Riddle Sideways: but remembering that my sh*t is stuff and Your stuff is sh*t
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, time for guardian mtg.
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
    Bruce Mowbray: TOO MUCH STUFF!
    Catrinamonblue Resident: always :)

Riddle Sideways: oh, now looks at email
Riddle Sideways: was just having lunch with y'all
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Bruce Mowbray searches online for "stuff-deleter"
Riddle Sideways: maybe not get the new TV hooked up
Catrinamonblue Resident: can always do it later ;)
Riddle Sideways: like the SL inventory of 'stuff'
    Bruce Mowbray dies from laughing....
    Catrinamonblue Resident: lol
Riddle Sideways: always a goodie, Bruce
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Bruce Mowbray: "The first thing you do when you get to the hotel room is to put away your stuff,,...."
    Riddle Sideways: yep
