Riddle Sideways: Good Morning, Leaping Adams
Adams Rubble: Hello Riddle :)
--BELL--
Riddle Sideways: There is such a spring in your step
Riddle Sideways: how goes the projects?
Adams Rubble: Yes time is going so fast i have not realized it is not Spring any more
Adams Rubble: no projects right now
Adams Rubble: none in SL I mean
Riddle Sideways: aww, it is always Spring, if you keep it in your heart
Adams Rubble: things percolating
Riddle Sideways: ok, the playing with building the other day was prepping the percolator
Adams Rubble: Back in the early days of paB we often talked about anger but I don;t think we ever talked about the other person who is angry with us, is that correct or am I wrong about that?
Adams Rubble: oh, I forgot about the building part--yes that may or may not turn into something
Adams Rubble: if you build it they may come---or not
Riddle Sideways: Anger, hmmm. certainly must have talked on that ... can't remember the talks, much less which side we were rooting for
Adams Rubble: hehe
Adams Rubble: go red angry team!
Riddle Sideways: yeahhhhh
Adams Rubble: we talked about what anger does to us and ways we might control anger
Riddle Sideways: would seem most would talk about the angry person
Adams Rubble: always from the focal point of ourselves
Riddle Sideways: oh
Riddle Sideways: still could be 'how did we get so angry'
Adams Rubble: what if we focus on the other person and what is happening to them?
Riddle Sideways: ok
Adams Rubble: how they are creating a hell for themselves
Adams Rubble: did we do something to make them angry?
Adams Rubble: that changes our focus drastically
Riddle Sideways: a few years ago, there was so much RL talks on this that it must have come up here
Adams Rubble: maybe lessens or dissipates our own anger
Adams Rubble: Shantideva talks about it in his chapter on patience
Riddle Sideways: am picturing a turn based game
Riddle Sideways: first person, may or may not make the other angry
Riddle Sideways: second person gets to be angry
Riddle Sideways: and express it, or not
Riddle Sideways: first person then gets to react
Riddle Sideways: badly or not at all
Riddle Sideways: second person can then react
Adams Rubble: just a sec rl interruption
Riddle Sideways: ok
Adams Rubble: I am back
Riddle Sideways: oh no, not going to type those letters
Adams Rubble: good :)
--BELL--
Riddle Sideways: think we already discussed visiting the father-in-law that has lost short-term memory storage
Adams Rubble: reaction difficult even if we deciode not to join in anger
Riddle Sideways: and that he used to be one of the quickest to anger
Adams Rubble: no longer gets angry?
Riddle Sideways: and now no longer gets angry
Riddle Sideways: he can't hold a grudge
Riddle Sideways: he might show anoyance at a moment
Riddle Sideways: and then it is gone
Riddle Sideways: that seemed sooooo interesting
Adams Rubble: sorry for his memory loss but helpful for him not to be getting angry
Adams Rubble: not holding on to anger--lessen for all of us
Riddle Sideways: the things in life that use to make him soo nasty angry
Riddle Sideways: don't last long enough
Riddle Sideways: to build up
Riddle Sideways: yes, lesson
Adams Rubble: also demonstrates the poinlessness of getting angry about litle things
Adams Rubble: pointlessness
Riddle Sideways: the Little things are not usually enough
Riddle Sideways: but, add 2, 5, 20 little things together
Riddle Sideways: and might blow up
Adams Rubble: The Dali lama makes a distinction between anger and hatred
Riddle Sideways: yes
Adams Rubble: anger can sometimes be helpful but hatred is nver positive
Riddle Sideways: good
Riddle Sideways: so often dearly love the ones that might make us angry
Riddle Sideways: non-loved ones might not be worth our time
Riddle Sideways: that is sad
Adams Rubble: and who we make angry
Riddle Sideways: the whole world 'should' matter
Adams Rubble: I'd like to change that a little--the focus
Adams Rubble: the whole world CAN matter
Riddle Sideways: ok, good
Adams Rubble: not kick ourselves in the head when it doesn;t but try harder :)
Adams Rubble: besides kicking ourselves in the head can cause us to fall over
Adams Rubble giggles
Riddle Sideways: am not that flexible
Adams Rubble: the father-in-law story is an entry into being more compassionate toward people who are angry at us
Adams Rubble: just an adjustment in memory makes such a difference
Riddle Sideways: long term memory reminds one that an I loves this person
Riddle Sideways: and blocks out
Riddle Sideways: any short term 'I am angry at them'
Riddle Sideways: that adjustment
Riddle Sideways: is a great lesson
Adams Rubble: yes
--BELL--
Riddle Sideways: pause = watching the sun set
Adams Rubble is wondering how much focusing on the present helps in such a situation
Riddle Sideways: or harms
Adams Rubble watches too
Riddle Sideways: focused on the present, would mean living in those short term things
Riddle Sideways: ignoring the 50 years of loving that person
Adams Rubble: hmmm-not if we live in the very moment
Riddle Sideways: that 'right now' is making one angry
Adams Rubble: focusing on positive and negative energy
Riddle Sideways: ok, right
Adams Rubble: see the anger and not grasping it --letting it go
Riddle Sideways: in the very present moment
Adams Rubble: keeping in the positive frame
Riddle Sideways: with no short term memory of 5 minutes ago
Adams Rubble: love lives in the present :)
Riddle Sideways: staying in the positive
Adams Rubble peeks out at the RL person and says "You got that?"
Riddle Sideways: In Aikido, we spend so much time teaching about negitive huge ememies coming straight at us
Riddle Sideways: :)
Riddle Sideways: and that all one has to do
Adams Rubble: what is Alkido?
Riddle Sideways: is get off
Riddle Sideways: that line
Riddle Sideways: by an inch
Riddle Sideways: Aikido = martial art taken for 30 years
Riddle Sideways: all defense
Adams Rubble: ohhhh
Riddle Sideways: or it is a Way to reconcile the World
Riddle Sideways: possibly instead of connecting all the dots ... we blend with All
Adams Rubble: I see :)
Adams Rubble: beginning to see
Riddle Sideways: :)
Adams Rubble: getting out of the way of the anger
Riddle Sideways: peeks out at RL typist
Riddle Sideways: yet again... your point... mostly thinking from the target of angry point of view
Riddle Sideways: not in the thinking of the angry person
Adams Rubble: yes, back to that
Riddle Sideways: so the next step
Adams Rubble: we got out of their way but can we do anything for them
Riddle Sideways: first get off the line
Adams Rubble: what does it do to us to be thinking about that
Riddle Sideways: then help vear them off their line
Adams Rubble: we might not be able to do anything for them but it may help us to be focusing our thoughts on them in a positive way
Riddle Sideways: that is a great start
Adams Rubble: yes, are we able to help them off their own line
Adams Rubble: they may be glued there with crazy glue
Adams Rubble: shoes of lead
Adams Rubble: they may be attached to their anger
Riddle Sideways: and you can't physically and forcively take that away
Adams Rubble: Now remembering back to the early days of PaB and it just occurred to me that this must have come up in a session
Riddle Sideways: the two of you, might, blend and bend the line a bit
Adams Rubble: one of the participants talking about their Tibetan teacher in prison in China
Adams Rubble: I am going to switch to something I know more about
Adams Rubble: Garchen Rinpoche
Adams Rubble: in prison being starved and beaten
--BELL--
Adams Rubble: worrying about what all the bad karma that the Chinese were creating for themselves
Adams Rubble: focuising on them rather than himself
Adams Rubble: not reacting to people's anger might make them more anger
Adams Rubble: angry
Riddle Sideways: might
Adams Rubble: then we might have to endure that as well
Riddle Sideways: or not
Adams Rubble: yes, or not
Adams Rubble: shhhhhhh
Adams Rubble: last lap :)
Riddle Sideways: :)
Riddle Sideways: even if there were a previous session
Riddle Sideways: is good to run the race again
Riddle Sideways: retrace the steps
Adams Rubble: yes, for our memories :)
Adams Rubble: yes, and we might see it it anew
Riddle Sideways: and will use these different shoes now
Adams Rubble: something else
Riddle Sideways: from your more compassionate place
Adams Rubble: less self-ish place
Adams Rubble: Pema once said it would take PaB three years
Adams Rubble: It has taken me much more :)
Adams Rubble: still working on this
Riddle Sideways: ha, yep this one is not there yet
Riddle Sideways: yesterday's sitting listening to where is Self in the brain session
Riddle Sideways: was a good experience
Riddle Sideways: they did not seem to resolve it
Riddle Sideways: but, had good talks
Riddle Sideways: Maxine's book details all the parts
Adams Rubble: The Buddhists seem to feel that consciousness is not in the brain
Riddle Sideways: and the participates all seem to see it differently
Adams Rubble: Christians might concur if one thinks of consciousness as the soul
Riddle Sideways: they were on a scientific simplier base
Riddle Sideways: of left-right and cortex
Riddle Sideways: where did this Self come up
Riddle Sideways: the anicients know there was a self
Riddle Sideways: so made great words, teaching, etc.
Riddle Sideways: and all their people were happy
Riddle Sideways: or happy debating it
Riddle Sideways: or happy disagreeing with them
Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: or ... angry at it
Riddle Sideways: oh dear
Adams Rubble: it is in our genes
Adams Rubble: and our jeans
Adams Rubble: hehe
Riddle Sideways: jeans seem to be ripped
Adams Rubble: The ancients did not create so much pollution that they could not see the stars
Adams Rubble: but would have it they had know how :)
Adams Rubble: known
Riddle Sideways: and the planet was already round before the ancients twisted away from the flat theories
Adams Rubble: one of my visions started out by realizing that i am connected to all the people who ever lived on this earth and all who will ever live
--BELL--
Riddle Sideways: the passover theme
Adams Rubble: for this session "So why be angry at them?"
Adams Rubble: is that the Passover theme? I did not know that
Riddle Sideways: ok, the title is done
Riddle Sideways: when I was a slave in Egypt
Riddle Sideways: we tell this story as it always been told and will always be told
Riddle Sideways: all the generations
Adams Rubble: also when you were the Pharoah's family in Egypt :)
Riddle Sideways: ahhhh yes
Riddle Sideways: when You were every angry person that ever was or will be
Adams Rubble: oh my, yes
Riddle Sideways: really hard to be that heavy
Adams Rubble: and every loving person
Riddle Sideways: exactly
Adams Rubble: heavy but also easier to accept our human frailities :)
Riddle Sideways: made it thru the hour without song lyrics
Riddle Sideways: and now
Riddle Sideways: was thinking of "All You Need is Love"
Adams Rubble: it is our choice whether we are loving and are happy or angry and are miserable
Adams Rubble: yes to the Beattles
Riddle Sideways: then the Beatles anti-group the Rolling Stones
Adams Rubble: I am afraid i must get on with RL today
Riddle Sideways: the bad boys sang about Street Fighting Man
Riddle Sideways: however, it was Pete Townsend
Adams Rubble peeks out at RL person and asks "Are you happy now?"
Riddle Sideways: singing about "God there's got to be another way"
Adams Rubble: but all so simple
Riddle Sideways: seems to be connected to RL person right now
Adams Rubble: this is OUR moment
Riddle Sideways: Yes
Adams Rubble: we can be happy or sad
Riddle Sideways: OR
Adams Rubble: until we get to the next moment and then can decide again :)
Riddle Sideways: just skip the dualistic thing
Riddle Sideways: and just dance
Adams Rubble: may you have many happy moments today :)
Riddle Sideways: and may you
Riddle Sideways: this was good
Adams starts dancing lots of different styles
Riddle Sideways: twist again,
Riddle Sideways: like you did last summer
Riddle Sideways: dang, you got all the 60's dances
Adams Rubble: funny what a dress can do to a dance. hehe
Riddle Sideways: giggles
Riddle Sideways: still photos not doing justice
Adams Rubble: well enough dancing for now :)
Adams Rubble: I hope you have a great day. Thank you for the discussion
Riddle Sideways: none of the shots looked right
Riddle Sideways: and thank you
Adams Rubble: and for continuing your guardian spot
Riddle Sideways: ha!
Adams Rubble: bye for now
Riddle Sideways: bye for now
