The Guardian for this meeting was Eden Haiku. The comments are by Eden Haiku.
Eden, Eliza and Adams
The Woo
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Eden :) All in winter wonderland clothes again :)
Eden Haiku: Namasté Eliza in a night blue sari :)
Eliza Madrigal smiles
Eliza Madrigal: Welcome back. Hope you're managing the change well
Eden Haiku: Thank you. Not so breezy as I look like here, unfortunately....
Eden Haiku: Sidewalks are incredibly slippery. Haven't been outside for the whole week end...
Eliza Madrigal: Oh :(
Eden Haiku: I had lots of time to unpack though :)
Eliza Madrigal: :) silver lining
Eliza Madrigal: Presidents Day in the US, so some may be away today btw.
Eden Haiku: On the bright side of the silver lining yes :))
Eden Haiku: Oh, a special holiday...Thanks.
Eden Haiku: Loved your post about the "woo" :)
Eden Haiku: Wasn't familiar with the term.
Eliza Madrigal: haha, thanks. I'm trying to ease into writing about these things, which will help me integrate a few languages
Eliza Madrigal: Tura used it in a dream session one day and I just smiled and smiled...
Eden Haiku: The fact that you don't decide if you believe in fairies and such but you like being around people who do. It reminded me of our Finnish friend Cosmicflower :)
Eden Haiku: Was wondering about Tura: is she British?
Eliza Madrigal: yes
Eden Haiku: Thanks.
Eliza Madrigal: very insightful
Eden Haiku: Yes, I noticed :)
Eliza Madrigal: smiles
Eliza Madrigal: you know I really love buddhism, and 'secular spiritual practice', and I thinkit has been good for me not to focus on experiences much, but that has also meant that I've never learned to integrate or communicate them very well....
Eden Haiku: The photos you snapped in Amsterdam were very revealing :)
Eliza Madrigal: I was so happy everyone let me take so many photos!
Eden Haiku: It brought the meeting to us :) In a way :)
Eliza Madrigal: thank you :)
Eden Haiku: So you now want to focus on sharing meditation experiences?
Eliza Madrigal: Well, I tell my little stories here, but I'm really longing to open my more 'full on woo' spiritual life more...
Eliza Madrigal: and we're more philosophical maybe, which is so nice, but I feel that part of my life demanding attention
Eden Haiku: Wonderful. I notice also that the fact of putting into words very fleeting experiences help us nail down some insights.
Eliza Madrigal:we're metaphorical beings in many ways aren't we?
Eden Haiku: A beautiful way to put it, yes!
Eliza Madrigal: I mean, for you it seems very natural to swim in and out of intuitive waters and to share that way of being
Eliza Madrigal: I've always been in awe of that
Eden Haiku: Thank you Eliza. I do swim in and out on a daily basis.
Eden Haiku: In Cuba, I wrote about 3 pages only, by hand, in a notebook. That's it.
Eliza Madrigal: but I'm sure you were taking it all in appreciatively
Eliza Madrigal: Aren't the breezes there wonderful?
--BELL--
Driving in a classic car with the top off
Eden Haiku: Oh yes. And the ocean such a delight. I was literally swimming in and out :))
Eliza Madrigal: :))
Eden Haiku: The temperature was just perfect: not too hot, never cold:)
Eliza Madrigal: just for you
Eliza Madrigal: Wish I could have run down to Key West and waved ^.^
Eliza Madrigal: the "Conch Republic"
Eden Haiku: Almost saw you :)
Eliza Madrigal: the passports used to say that
Eden Haiku: About Cuba?
Eliza Madrigal: Key West
Eden Haiku: Ah, yes, Never been to Key West...:(
Eliza Madrigal: on a clear day one can see Cuba from the southernmost point
Eden Haiku: I know the people of Cuba are struggling economically and that is very sad (Though they have free healthcare and education).
Eliza Madrigal nods
Eden Haiku: But the hundreds of people working at the hotel were so joyful and nice.
Eliza Madrigal: They are very fortunate, working there
Eliza Madrigal: Were you able to eat well?
Eliza Madrigal: I love Cuban food, but not so much is easy to find vegetarian
Eden Haiku: They are trained to be that way but it makes you feel being among friends or family. And their smiles are genuine :)
Eliza Madrigal nods
Eliza Madrigal: very welcoming, 'everybody is family' culture
Eliza Madrigal: for the most part
Eden Haiku: At the Blau Varadero there was more vegetarian food this year: lots of fresh fruit and vegetables, beans. We made a point of letting them know last year and we felt heard. Many German people there, many of them health freaks. Soya milk and so on :)
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, nice :)
Eden Haiku: And the musicians! So incredible!
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, yes I've heard it is normal to dance in the streets in Cuba
Eden Haiku: I had "Yolanda" by Pablo Milanes sung to me by all the trios and quatuors singing at our table :)
Eliza Madrigal: oooooo
Eden Haiku: Let me find a link :)
Eliza Madrigal: seems a very relaxing and romantic get away
Eliza Madrigal: To be honest, I'm not even sure what our policy is now... whether I'm allowed to travel there except by cruise ship
Eden Haiku: Next year we want to stay at least 3 weeks, maybe 4. So we would have time to go to Havana. They do dance in the streets there!
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, nice!
Eden Haiku: I met briefly a group of very interesting women at lunch. They all looked like psychiatrists or psychologists.
Eden Haiku: I didn't ask that, but I did ask where they were from. One was from Florida!
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, maybe with family there?
Eden Haiku: I was surprised, because I thought Americans weren't allowed in resorts...
Eden Haiku: Maybe not on charters, maybe just for a few days in Havana then a few days in a resort.
Eliza Madrigal: I'm sure some get around things. We weren't allowed lots of things but somehow everyone always had Cuban cigars all over Miami :))
Eden Haiku: Maybe we could meet in Havana next year, that would be sweet :)
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, so nice :)) Will have to find sexy companion to dance with
Eden Haiku: Dancing together in the streets of Havana :)
Eliza Madrigal laughs
Eden Haiku: Good morning Adams :)
Eliza Madrigal: driving in classic car with the top off
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Adams :)
Eden Haiku: Oh, the cars! So amazing!
Adams Rubble: Good morning Eden and Eliza :)
Adams
--BELL--
Eden Haiku: Here is the link to "Yolanda" by Pablo Milanes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sct0-7rs2zY
Eliza Madrigal clicks
Eden Haiku: It's a special love song for it was written for his wife :)
Eden Haiku: Musicians do love singing this song. They were so pleased when I asked for that song :)
Eliza Madrigal: beautiful
Eden Haiku: How have you been Adams?
Eden Haiku: Thanks for filling in :)
Adams Rubble: I am well, thank you. I hope your vacation was good
Eden Haiku: Yes, that was great.
Eden Haiku: Now planning to go back for a longer time next year :)
Eden Haiku: Guess I'm morphing into a snowbird :)
Eliza Madrigal: It really is the ideal.... just as winter starts feeling to close in, fly to the warm breezes
Eliza Madrigal: I would do the opposite if feasible
Eden Haiku: But our winter lasts about 6 months....
Eliza Madrigal: that's a long time... can imagine it begins to feel stifling
Eden Haiku: Had some cramp in my shin last night that woke me up. Not being able to walk my 10,000 steps is hard on my body....
Eliza Madrigal: is there a gym nearby you could go to for just a few days here and there?
Eden Haiku: I'm considering joining a gym for threadmill walking...
Eliza Madrigal: ah, snap :))
Eliza Madrigal: much nicer to be outside but at least you don't break your fantastic routine
Eden Haiku: About 40 minutes walk from home. So I would have to take a taxi...
Eliza Madrigal: stairs?
Adams Rubble: the interior air begins to get stale
Eliza Madrigal: yes
Adams Rubble: shoveling snow is life threatening
Eden Haiku: True Adams, Did you have weather cocktails too? Ice and snow and rain?
Adams Rubble: so far this winter we have just been threatened with storms
Adams Rubble: being threatened again for Wednesday; last night was all rain
Eden Haiku: As we don't have a car, we don't have much shoveling to do. And our downstairs neighbor is very keen of blowing the snow away :)
Adams Rubble: :)
Eliza Madrigal: photos from Washington State have been incredible...
Eliza Madrigal: have a friend who just moved there and has been snowed in twice already
Eliza Madrigal: falls so beautifully making such perfect shapes on all the outdoor furniture :)
Eliza Madrigal sighs
Eliza Madrigal: very hot here today (pouting)
Adams Rubble: 12 month summers not so great either :(
Eden Haiku: Sorry to hear about the heat Eliza :(
Eden Haiku: Miami not as breezy as the island I guess :(
--BELL--
Teleporting from national emergencies
Eliza Madrigal: thank you :) It certainly isn't
Adams Rubble: I have not seen or heard a mosquito in months :)
Eden Haiku: You look cute when you pout :)
Adams Rubble: :)
Eliza Madrigal: I need to go to the beach more often though.... if I leave early enough traffic isn't as oppressive. Gorgeous photos remind me how healing and fulfilling it is
Eden Haiku: Saw some sweet sand color lizards in the sand :)
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eden Haiku: Oh yes Eliza, you could enjoy the early morning hours by the ocean. How long is the drive?
Eliza Madrigal: depends on traffic, and no matter how early I go the drive home will take a while... at least an hour or so depending on which beach I head to
Eden Haiku: I just opened the window and the fresh air feels good. Sending you some draft of it Eliza :)
Eliza Madrigal: and then one feels so relaxed that the rest of the day it is hard to be productive
Eliza Madrigal: Ahhhhhhh thank you
Eliza Madrigal: ^.^
Eden Haiku: Very true. The ocean is soooo relaxing, you just don't feel like DOING anything :)
Eliza Madrigal: that's its magic!
Eliza Madrigal:doing not doing is so easy on the beach
Eden Haiku: Are you still very busy with many projects Adams?
Adams Rubble was at the beach on Saturday where it was windy and cold :)
Eliza Madrigal smiles
Adams Rubble: sat on a rock watching the waves
Eden Haiku: Brrrr...
Eliza Madrigal: teaching waves?
Eden Haiku: smiles
Adams Rubble: watching :)
Adams Rubble:waves teaching about emptiness
Eliza Madrigal listens
Adams Rubble: an enlightened wave knows it is water
Adams Rubble: waves reminding me
Eden Haiku: And a drop of water knows it is the ocean
Adams Rubble surprised that it is such a long ride to beach for Eliza
Eliza Madrigal: due to traffic... was a hop and skip when I was younger
Adams Rubble: traffic is nasty
Eliza Madrigal: there is one closer, but always so crowded, not very nice
Adams Rubble: ohhh
Adams Rubble: my beach was not crowded. hehe
Eliza Madrigal: honestly I like to stay on the west coast occasionally because the night sky is so clear
Adams Rubble: there were some harbor seals on a sandbar on the bay side
Eliza Madrigal: oohh
Adams Rubble: come down to winter here
Eliza Madrigal: I heard that when the beaches were closed some took over... are those them?
Eliza Madrigal: parks*
Adams Rubble: yes they ware a problem on the west coast
Adams Rubble: there are only abour fifty at most here
Eliza Madrigal: makes one consider how fast nature will reclaim things when given the chance
Eden Haiku: yes...
Adams Rubble:nature looking forward to trump leaving the white house
Eden Haiku: Still on a national emergency?
Eliza Madrigal asks nature for a little help
Adams Rubble: John Oliver did a show on Brexit last night that makes US problems look mild
Eliza Madrigal: scared to watch
Eden Haiku: Had so little time on Wi-Fi in Cuba that I disconnected from news, only posted photos :) It was liberating!
Eliza Madrigal: free of news, must have felt great :)
Adams Rubble: He said it like Pompeii if the Pompeiians had voted for the volcano
Eliza Madrigal: !
Adams Rubble: nice to be free of news
Eden Haiku: Here it's endless discussions about permitting hijabs for teachers or not...
Eliza Madrigal: There is a good Brexit film w/ Cumberbatch now... highlighting 'how' people are tricked into voting against their own interests
Eliza Madrigal: I remember Wester telling me that there the big item on the ballot was scooters! :))
Eden Haiku: :)
--BELL--
Eliza Madrigal: I've been away from news more too actually... it takes me 3 hours of dog photos to undo the damage from one wildlife hunting photo
Eliza Madrigal: such sorrow and hatred and fear comes up in my heart, for the way people are enjoying outright non-compassion and feelings of power
Eden Haiku: In Montreal, the new mayor is very leftist. I voted for her but now I wonder why all bicycle trails are free of ice and sidewalks are not...Very few people use bicycles when it's minus 30 C....
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, wow... you have sidewalks *and* bike trails!
Eden Haiku: Oh Eliza, hunting pictures are so saaad...
Eden Haiku: yes, we have both. Not in Miami?
Eliza Madrigal: only in a few nicer areas
Eliza Madrigal: lots of bike accidents here
Eliza Madrigal: and people jumping out of the way of bikes on the sidewalks!
Adams Rubble: need to be tough to cycle in that cold
Adams Rubble: kicycles on sidewalks are a problem
Eden Haiku: Yes, they aren't supposed to use them...
Eliza Madrigal: most of Miami really is just with cars in mind
Adams Rubble: most places it is streets or sidewalks
Eden Haiku: Cars are everywhere. All ads on TV are about cars...Even on Internet...
Eliza Madrigal: much prefer teleporting :)I think I might even make time to lounge on an SL beach
Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: RL is so primitive
Eliza Madrigal: hehehe
The Cavalry is arriving!
Eden Haiku: Little Greta Thurnberg, the climate activist says we should leave the petrol in the ground, stop exploiting it before it's too late.
Eliza Madrigal: what a clear headed person she is!
Eden Haiku: RL is so primitive indeed :)
Eden Haiku: Did you know she's an Asperger?
Eliza Madrigal: She is on the autism spectrum, and says that is why she doesn't play reckless games the way most of the adults are doing
Eliza Madrigal: ah, yes
Eden Haiku: Had a depression when she was 11 about the climate crisis.
Eliza Madrigal: I really think there are people born with what is needed for their time
Eden Haiku: Converted her parents and little sister (an opera singer and an actor) to become vegan and stop flying,,,
Eliza Madrigal: remarkable that her parents are willing to take her lead
Eliza Madrigal: Bye Adams, gtsy
Adams Rubble: I must go. Thank you for your presence. Have a very good day.Stay warm Eden. Stay cool Eliza!
Eden Haiku: Good to see you Adams. You look wonderful in this outfit!
Eliza Madrigal: yes love it too
Adams Rubble: thanks, you too
Eliza Madrigal: thank you
Eden Haiku: have a great day!
Eliza Madrigal: FL gun laws have been dramatically affected by the Parkland kids as well... quite a generation coming up
Eliza Madrigal: we have a long way to go, but their voices are so 'cut through the BS'
Eden Haiku: yes, you celebrated the 1st anniversaty of the Parkland tragedy. So sad...
Eliza Madrigal: they are pointing out such crazy obvious things
Eden Haiku: Young girls are pretty incredible aren't they? Gonzalez is such a powerful voice too !
Eliza Madrigal: YES
Eliza Madrigal: and the young women in Congress now
Eden Haiku: Yes!
Eliza Madrigal: makes me feel like the Calvary is arriving....
Eden Haiku: That’ full of hope :)
Eliza Madrigal: but still have that pit in my stomach
Eden Haiku: I understand.
Eliza Madrigal: things are so unequal it is going to take so much
Eden Haiku: The collapse is certain, yet the female cavalry is coming.
Eden Haiku: Hopefully, it's not the Knights of the Apocalypse...
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eliza Madrigal: I think.... well, I feel... things can change in a flash
Eden Haiku: So unequal all over the Earth...
Eliza Madrigal: yes
Eden Haiku: The butterfly...
Eliza Madrigal: tipping points
Eden Haiku: Flapping its wing somewhere and the world will change...
Good to see you Adams!
Look down, look down!
Eliza Madrigal: We went to see Les Miz last weekend.... was really striking... "Look down... look down...."
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, nice image... persistent butterfly
--BELL--
Eden Haiku: The musical Eliza? Did you enjoy it?
Eden Haiku: Look down?
Eliza Madrigal: yes, my son's favorite... so was a Christmas gift that just arrived
Eden Haiku: :)
Eden Haiku: Never seen it :(
Eliza Madrigal: The portions of the musical where the poor and trapped are singing
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, wow
Eden Haiku: Oh, I see :(
Eliza Madrigal: there is a film, but it is patchy... some great things and some not so much
Eden Haiku: And they feel unseen...
Eliza Madrigal: yes
Eden Haiku: Saw bits of the film...
Eliza Madrigal: it felt so our times now
Eden Haiku: Yes...
Eliza Madrigal: suffering is intense and hidden, and worse... it is judged
Eden Haiku: And we are among the luckiest in the world...
Eliza Madrigal: absolutely
Eden Haiku: Yet, all this pain is affecting us...
Eden Haiku: Powerlessness...
Eden Haiku: I'm almost afraid of meditation nowadays...
Eliza Madrigal:no one who stays soft and open hearted can help but feel it now
Eliza Madrigal: Oh
Eden Haiku: True
Eliza Madrigal: but the alternative is to become monstrous?
Eden Haiku: And oblivious to all that is happening...and we don't want that....
Eliza Madrigal nods, yes exactly
Eden Haiku: Taking refuge in the Buddha, in the Dharma, in the Sangha ...
Eliza Madrigal: indeed
Eden Haiku: Burning sage, opening windows...
Eden Haiku: Letting the fresh air in :)
Eliza Madrigal: I'm taking these kinds of rituals very seriously lately
Eden Haiku: Oh, that's healing Eliza :)
Eliza Madrigal: wonder if I can find some fresh air too, hah
Eden Haiku: Invite cool breeze from Cuba :)
Eliza Madrigal grins
Eliza Madrigal: will listen to that song again
Eliza Madrigal: it is lovely
Eliza Madrigal: Hope you manage your steps today :) I have some work to do but want to write more about channeling soon
Eden Haiku: Our space is inhabited by spirits that feel welcomed by these rituals I think.
Eliza Madrigal smiles, we're in step today ^.^
Eden Haiku: Looking forward to read your blog Eliza. Have a nice day, creative and cool :)
Eliza Madrigal: Love you, thank you, welcome home <3
Eden Haiku: Thank you for being here this morning :)
Eliza Madrigal: ((((Thanks for hosting)))
Eden Haiku: Gorgeous sari!
Bye Eliza!
