Riddle Sideways: spend a night at a lovely hot springs on the way up
Riddle Sideways: went early to Burning to help setup and stayed late to break it all down
Riddle Sideways: and avoid the traffic jam of all 80K trying to get out the single lane dirt road
Adams Rubble: :)

Riddle Sideways: over 500
Riddle Sideways: on the Playa. more in camps
Riddle Sideways: The man is burned after much partying, fire twirling and great fireworks
Riddle Sideways: loud music(?) and booms
Adams Rubble: why do theyu burn the man?
Riddle Sideways: the next night the Temple is burnt
Riddle Sideways: no show before and about 30K people are silent
Riddle Sideways: no show biz, no stunts, just silence/reverence
Adams Rubble: I saw a photo of the temple while it was in Washiongtn
Riddle Sideways: not sure why the man is burnt. It has to be just "Tradition"
Adams Rubble: and the Temple?
Riddle Sideways: the founder built a wooden man and burnt it long ago
Riddle Sideways: and each year
Riddle Sideways: the Temple is a Zen thing of writting your loved ones name and a blessing on paper and burning it
Riddle Sideways: sending your prayer to the heavens?
Adams Rubble: OK
Adams Rubble: or like a Buddhist mandala?
Riddle Sideways: yesz
Riddle Sideways: yes
--BELL--
Adams Rubble: I am so glad it was a good experience. Quite an undertaking and adventure
Riddle Sideways: a bucket list item
Riddle Sideways: still wondering if to do it next year
Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: was a great camp "Voodoo Soup". old hippies playing music and serving soup
Riddle Sideways: fresh brewed Root Beer all day
Riddle Sideways: about 4 soups a night. supposedly between 10-2am
Riddle Sideways: but it was Whatever time
Riddle Sideways: was up until 5:30a once talking to people in the line
Adams Rubble: one needs stamina to be an "old Hippie"
Riddle Sideways: Yes!!!
Riddle Sideways: in 100+F desert dust storms
Adams Rubble: ouch
Riddle Sideways: powder the sticks to everything
Riddle Sideways: an electric bike helped a lot
Riddle Sideways: got about 20k steps everyday
Riddle Sideways: painful to realize only the 20s and 30s look good naked
Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: good to be in a place that used NO money
Riddle Sideways: walk into a camp and get soup or a grilled cheese sandwich or a homebrewed beer
Riddle Sideways: the opposite corner at 3:30 and B had a circle tent with nightly performances
Riddle Sideways: was so childlike to sneak over and peek in the tent flap at the show
Riddle Sideways: *Circus
Riddle Sideways: darn
Riddle Sideways: typering chalenggged
Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: down the block was a reporduction of the MASJ 4077th camp

Riddle Sideways: Post-op was playing episodes of the TV show all night
--BELL--
Riddle Sideways: can't find a good link to the Real art photos yet
Riddle Sideways: the ones at burningman.org are the proposed art photos
Adams Rubble: you have given a very vivid description
Riddle Sideways: some of the art can not be described
My Turn
Riddle Sideways: ok, now back to here
Riddle Sideways: what has happened?
Adams Rubble: not much has happened to me in SL
Riddle Sideways: oh, read one nervious blog email
Adams Rubble: I bought some land along one of the roads for a museum annex but that will take some time
Riddle Sideways: near the existing museum?
Adams Rubble: nope
Adams Rubble: down south on the mainland
Riddle Sideways: ah, along that long road
Adams Rubble: y'aw see it sometime
Riddle Sideways: ok, waits
Adams Rubble: in RL still struggling with the definition of anti-Semitism. There is another meeting tonight
Adams Rubble: It has been a very turbulent time for me
Riddle Sideways: so the meeting that you might lose your cool at has not happened yet
Adams Rubble: I have been at four meetings so far. This will be the fifth
Adams Rubble: I have bought all the children's books on Palestinians that I could find and they are wrenching
Adams Rubble: Right now I am reading a book by a Jewish writer (translated from Hebrew) about a Palestinian boy who ends up in a Jewish hospital and interacts with Jewish children. They learn what they have in common
Adams Rubble: I think this would be a great book for children
Adams Rubble: It has been upsetting learning more about what is happening to Palestinians
--BELL--
Adams Rubble: There was an interview with a little girl in book interviwing Jewish and Palestinian childen
Adams Rubble: she lamented that she was no longer allowed to see here grandparents who lived in a village just a couple of miles away and they could not see her
Adams Rubble: because a road had been built between the villages and palestinians were not allowed even to cross it
Adams Rubble: as you can imagine, that one resonated with me on a personal level
Riddle Sideways: yes
Adams Rubble: last night I was thinking about the Christians who think there is a war on Christmas
Adams Rubble: or that intellextuals look down on them
Adams Rubble: Christian zealots
Adams Rubble: I was also thinking that hate of a people or group or religion is because people think they are all alike
Adams Rubble: Think there is a common behavior
Adams Rubble: not the case in any group
Adams Rubble: I learned much about the different approaches to Christianity by studying Buddhism
Adams Rubble: I discovered that within religions people have different approaches that are common to other religions
Adams Rubble: there are those who like rules and those who don't for one
Adams Rubble: I hope you don't mind that i am thinking out loud
Riddle Sideways: no, keep going
Adams Rubble: I have been struggling to understand
Adams Rubble: I do have a prejudice in that I hate rules and I hate people who make rules for everyone else
Adams Rubble: They are bullies
Adams Rubble: there I said it
Adams Rubble: I think my rant helped me define what I am reacting too
Riddle Sideways: think it is ok to publicise here, your blog has it also
Riddle Sideways: many times a rant lets all that out
--BELL--
Adams Rubble: I think I have been a bit cryptic in my blog but maybe I haven't
Adams Rubble: people are getting hurt in our RL conflict
Riddle Sideways: are they getting educated in this discussion?
Adams Rubble: I have been :)
Adams Rubble: I like your question
Adams Rubble: I am going to take your question with me through the day
Riddle Sideways: ㋡
Adams Rubble: I don't think people want me to educate them :)
Adams Rubble: they would rather eat worms
Riddle Sideways: did not mean "(so and so) will Educate you now on all those wrong ideas you have"
Adams Rubble: yes, I understand-- The problem with all this is it is so easy to go off track
Adams Rubble: sorry phone interruption
Riddle Sideways: and RL interruptions here
Adams Rubble: :)
--BELL--
Adams Rubble: Thank you for the report about your trip and the helpful comments about my dilemma
Riddle Sideways: hope was a little bit helpful/thoughtful
Adams Rubble: I have been thinking that it is difficult to have such personal discussions as we are having in RL when peo;ple do not know what is in your heart
Adams Rubble: so much is misinterpreted. Of course it would help if I were more skillful
Adams Rubble: Thanks again for listening to me
Riddle Sideways: the so many layers between each other to get inaddicite communications/languages across
Adams Rubble: I hope you have a great day
Riddle Sideways: you might look at newatlas.com/lifestyle surreal-sights
Adams Rubble: OK
Riddle Sideways: at some artwork links
Riddle Sideways: hope you have your nicest day
Adams Rubble: so good to see you again :)
Riddle Sideways: yes
Riddle Sideways: thank you
Adams Rubble: Eden will be happy too next Monday :)
Riddle Sideways: ㋡
Adams Rubble: bye for now :)
