Riddle Sideways: A fine fountain lotus to sit on
Riddle Sideways: ㋡
Adams Rubble: good morning Riddle
--BELL--
Riddle Sideways: Morning Adams
Adams Rubble: hot day here
Adams Rubble: brutal humidity
Riddle Sideways: Dog Days of Summer
Riddle Sideways: find shade and go nap
Adams Rubble: It is going to get cooler starting tomorrow
Riddle Sideways: hot days here too. not so much humidity
Riddle Sideways: getting use to the times it is ok to be outside and when to come back in
Adams Rubble: are you still on vacation?
Riddle Sideways: yes, if there is any understanding to the differences in days
Riddle Sideways: this might be called vacation
Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: sometimes it is WHERE you are
Riddle Sideways: sometimes
Riddle Sideways: then there is the "where ever you go, there you are"
Riddle Sideways: in an odd space this morning. Awoke from dream in middle of night and not sure if asleep after that
Riddle Sideways: reality rattled
Adams Rubble: dreams can do that
Adams Rubble: I was awakened by the air conditioner and could not get back to sleep but I am just spaced
Riddle Sideways: yes, spacey
Riddle Sideways: dream world was so like SL
Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: only it was pointed out that the basic rules could be adjusted if not liked
Adams Rubble: in the dream?
Riddle Sideways: tweak the chaos controls a percentage
Riddle Sideways: mostly in the dream
Adams Rubble wonders what would want changes in SL other than cost
Riddle Sideways: more like Life within the simulation
Riddle Sideways: and alter the values from within
--BELL--
Adams Rubble: could you say more about that?
Riddle Sideways: there are long running discussions elsewhere re: Are we living in a simulation
Riddle Sideways: and there are RL thoughts that one can change their life around by living rightously or by better ways
Riddle Sideways: and there are religions that try to get a group to live by some pretty good rules
Riddle Sideways: and there are some basic how to live rules
Riddle Sideways: many combinations
Riddle Sideways: thinking you can only control your own controls
Riddle Sideways: and very little on those
Riddle Sideways: and on and on
Riddle Sideways: Then a dream points to living in a virtual simulation that You have much control over
Adams Rubble: ohhh
Adams Rubble: I think I am getting the drift
Riddle Sideways: hopefully you are.
Riddle Sideways: a step back/out might show many simulations running, many branes and trials
Riddle Sideways: thinking of course the Outside programmer can make changes and re-run the simulation
Adams Rubble: SL is a place to explore things we are unable to explore in RL
Riddle Sideways: But, can any inside avatar adjust the model values
Adams Rubble: we control our behavior
Riddle Sideways: yes (to both)
Adams Rubble: RL is a place to explore thngs we can't explore in RL :)
Riddle Sideways: right!
Riddle Sideways: and watch, over time, what personal behavioral controls do to quality of life
Adams Rubble: yes
Riddle Sideways: What if somebody came along and said You can change one of the very Basic controls of this game you are in.
Riddle Sideways: YOU are Being
Riddle Sideways: and at the End of this game
Adams Rubble: I'd probably stay awake all night trying to figure out what to change
Riddle Sideways: and ready to start the next turn
Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: Thus, am very sleepy having stayed awake or drifting or thinking or dreaming the changes most of the night ㋡
Adams Rubble: I guess we live within the rules in both places
Riddle Sideways: go outside the rules and get banned from that sim or banned from SL
Riddle Sideways: or go to jail or pay a fine
--BELL--
Adams Rubble: there are taboos in RL that extend to SL. Breaking taboos can lead to RL consequences
Riddle Sideways: Taboos could be a better word than Rules or Laws
Riddle Sideways: a softer word-control
Adams Rubble: taboos vary in cultural groups
Riddle Sideways: over Time many taboos have changed
Adams Rubble: and in social circles
Adams Rubble: yes, there are changes in time
Adams Rubble: too
Adams Rubble: but more in groups than in time
Adams Rubble: I am thinking of the taboo against identifying as gay in the Trump world
Riddle Sideways: individuals can change but that does not steer large groups to large changes
Riddle Sideways: take any example, that is a good one
Adams Rubble: We leave that to the young people :)
Adams Rubble: to change taboos
Riddle Sideways: there is large awareness of LGBTQIAB+ now in the world
Riddle Sideways: even while being put down and ignored, fought
Riddle Sideways: a shifting line of where the taboo is now
Riddle Sideways: large groups pulling in a tug of war over where the line is going to be
Adams Rubble: it can become a political battle
Riddle Sideways: it can become a police actionable situation
Adams Rubble: ouh, yes
Adams Rubble: ouch, yes
Adams Rubble: We are fortunate if we do not need to break taboos :)
Adams Rubble: can be grateful
Adams Rubble: not true though
Riddle Sideways: right
Adams Rubble: we are taught taboos as children
Adams Rubble: we need to remove them from our minds sometimes
Adams Rubble: because they distort reality
Adams Rubble: or stifle exploration
Riddle Sideways: yes,
Adams Rubble: those voices in our head
Riddle Sideways: e.g. little children are taught George Washington broke a taboo by chopping down the cherry tree, but did not compound it by telling a lie.
--BELL--
Riddle Sideways: those voices also help you drive within the lane lines
Riddle Sideways: later, you learn George was a slave owner and did not free his slaves as was reported
Adams Rubble: GW told his father that I can not tell a lie; I like having slaves
Adams Rubble: and father said "good boy"
Adams Rubble scratches head
Adams Rubble: he did not have a taboo against oppressing people
Riddle Sideways: yep
Riddle Sideways: so, waking out of a dream and asking WTF just happened?
Riddle Sideways: what was that thing behind the curtail
Adams Rubble: Forky says "I don't know"
Riddle Sideways: ㋡ love dat
Adams Rubble: that is a joke grandparents will learn when their grandchildren are about three and they have to get the disney channel :)
Riddle Sideways: possibly not known yet to some readers
Riddle Sideways: wondering what to do with this uncomfortable feeling
Riddle Sideways: go back to bed? take a pill? forget it? go back to work?
Adams Rubble: I don't know either but it is interesting to remember that we live within restraints of our own making even in SL
Riddle Sideways: of our own making ㋡
Riddle Sideways: and can be of our own changing
Adams Rubble: yes, that's where the sleepless nights come in when we are battling our minds :)
Riddle Sideways: choose well what you change
Adams Rubble: taming our minds
Riddle Sideways: a mind racing off on what might happen
Adams Rubble: Devil Mind
Riddle Sideways: however, not All thoughts of an untamed mind are wild
Adams Rubble: It helps us to remember that we are part of the human race with all having devil minds :)
Adams Rubble: the devil is sneaky slipping in temptations
--BELL--
Riddle Sideways: and nothing that we can change, except our attitude towards it
Adams Rubble: if you get distracted by this, it will make you happy
Adams Rubble: watch out for devils dressed in red
Riddle Sideways: the happiness of blissful ignorance
Adams Rubble: whoops
Adams Rubble: Thank you foir an interesting conversation
Riddle Sideways: Devil in the blue dress, blue dress, blue dress ...
Riddle Sideways: yes
Riddle Sideways: thank you
Adams Rubble: whew. glad I wore red
Riddle Sideways: hard to believe, but it helped
Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: Have a wonderful day with your family
Adams Rubble: sends my love
Riddle Sideways: off to hold a baby grown up
Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: ㋡
Riddle Sideways: by All
Adams Rubble: will visit two babies here
Riddle Sideways: happy dayz
Adams Rubble: yes
Adams Rubble: see you soon :)
