                 Pancake-mas

Eden Haiku: Its also the day we eat pancakes in French culture :)
Bleu Oleander: haven't had pancakes in years
    Eden Haiku: Candles celebration.
Riddle Sideways: it is also my father's yahrzeit
Bleu Oleander: what does that mean?
    Eden Haiku: Yahrzeit? Birthday?
    Riddle Sideways: date of death
Riddle Sideways: also burns a candle
Eden Haiku: Oh, sorry to hear. When did he died Riddle?
Bleu Oleander: a day of remembrance for you?
    Riddle Sideways: many years ago
Riddle Sideways: will crack jokes today in his honor=ur
    Riddle Sideways: *
    Eden Haiku: Sure!
    Riddle Sideways: why pancakes?
Riddle Sideways: hey, Wikipedia has a page for each day of the year
                   https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/February_2
Riddle Sideways: did not know that
Riddle Sideways: the historic events and births
    Riddle Sideways: cool
                   https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Candlemas
Eden Haiku: Jut a tradition I guess. 40 days after Christmas's eve and maybe 40 days before Easter...We used to fast before Easter (no candies, ni sugar is what fasting was for us kids)
Riddle Sideways: no sugar, oh dear
Eden Haiku: Reading (in French) it's right in the middle of the fasting. Like a pause :)
Bleu Oleander: hard to find things without sugar these days
                   --BELL--
    Eden Haiku: yep
Bleu Oleander: sugar goes by many names
Eden Haiku: In India they had hindu fasting days too
Eden Haiku: They were my favorites: the food was so good! With raisins and nuts. Never understood why they called that food "fasting food"
Riddle Sideways: and why do fast days seem to go by so slow?
Eden Haiku: Pancakes were symbolic of the return of the sun (round shapes) Ah! Wikipedia!
Riddle Sideways: and fasting foods are not fast food like from McDonalds
Bleu Oleander: amazing to think that pancakes could symbolize the sun!
    Eden Haiku: I know :)
Bleu Oleander: a very creative mind thought that up ha!
Riddle Sideways: use to make pancakes as Micky or Minnie mouse heads
Eden Haiku: In times when images were rarer I guess :)
Riddle Sideways: in times before TV
Eden Haiku: Nice daddy Riddle, Did your own father created pancakes like that?
Riddle Sideways: in times when thinking, debating and making up of stories
Riddle Sideways: nope, father never cooked
    Riddle Sideways: was that generation
Riddle Sideways: with separation of powers
Eden Haiku: Have early memories of my grandfather cooking sarrazin pancakes on the wooden stove.
    Riddle Sideways: oooooo
    Bleu Oleander: nice!
Eden Haiku: Explaining you had to wait for the little holes to appear before you turn the pancake :)
Eden Haiku: he was a hunter and did cook for himself in his hunting camp,.
Eden Haiku: I still remember this everytime I make pancakes (which is rather rare),,,,Won,t even have time today...
Riddle Sideways: and maybe explaining proper flipping technique?
Eden Haiku: Do you have your own Riddle?
    Riddle Sideways: almost
    Riddle Sideways: :)

Riddle Sideways: and now for something completely different
Eden Haiku: Everybody still cooking up giant ginger bread bodies for TSK?
    Riddle Sideways: that too

Riddle Sideways: from yesterday's Eden session start
Riddle Sideways: Eden Haiku: I remember the days when a cardboard cat would come to these sessions. I forgot her name. She was British I think. And there was this hermit who would transform herself into a tea tray.
Riddle Sideways: maybe Bleu remembers the cardboard cat?
Eden Haiku: Oh, do you remember her name?
    Riddle Sideways: not Boxy
    Bleu Oleander: hmmm
Eden Haiku: She was an Asian woman living in England I think...
    Bleu Oleander: don't remember
Eden Haiku: Her name is on the tip of my tongue
                   --BELL--
    Riddle Sideways: need more clues
Eden Haiku: I remember the hermit was Widget Whiteberry, the cat... Do you have memories of her Riddle?
    Eden Haiku: She left suddenly.
Eden Haiku: After a retreat or something
    Riddle Sideways: Gaya?
    Riddle Sideways: (was searching wiki)
    Eden Haiku: Gaya!
Riddle Sideways: found one Eden session with ref to a purple cardboard cat avitar

Eden Haiku: Was digging though the logs too. We had so many sessions then didn't we?
    Riddle Sideways: 4 a day
    Riddle Sideways: wow
    Eden Haiku: Yes!
Riddle Sideways: some went for 6 hours
    Bleu Oleander: really? 6 hours?
    Riddle Sideways: a couple did
Eden Haiku: Thank you Riddle. Waving to Gaya if by chance, she reads this log!
Eden Haiku: Sessions with more than 20 avatars sometimes!
Riddle Sideways: "Eden Haiku: Sorry for the typos Widget. feeling kind of hermity still? But at least with us to share it? Widget Whiteberry: the four of us illustrate a fair range of approaches to avatars"

The parade of avatars from inventories starts

Eden Haiku: Hehe. Back then, I thought all avatars had humane forms. Was I naive!
Bleu Oleander: I've had a pretty wide range of avatars over the years!
    Bleu Oleander: fun to experiment
Eden Haiku: Digged out this log to a session in a prairie of wild flowers: https://wiki.playasbeing.org/Chat_Logs/2010/01/2010.01.18_07%3a00_-_Dreaming_in_a_prairie_of_wild_flowers
