Riddle Sideways: our synagogue did a strange simchat Torah event a weekend ago

Riddle Sideways: tradition is that on Simchat Torah when the last section of torah is read. immediately start at the beginning again
Riddle Sideways: well 2 people got talking and decided to read the entire torah out loud in a weekend
Riddle Sideways: 6 people ended up taking turns reading all night long. Others joined in as they could

Storm Nordwind: Agreed about donations. I was always uneasy when I was told I should charge for services like that. And then I realized that there were others who relied on that kind of income, and my doing things free would cause them a problem.
Bertram Jacobus: yes : it´s a big topic in samsara ! ... ;-)

Storm Nordwind: It is so long since I have visited Germany - maybe 15 years. What is the attitude there nowadays to non-Christian religions - or to no belief at all?
Bertram Jacobus: i think, it has risen a lot that people have no religions or other then cristianity ... and so it´s becoming really normal, this variety ... but on the other hand, people often miss values ...

Storm Nordwind: True. And there is always architecture to remind people of their history, which may cause a nostalgia for old ways.
