Riddle Sideways: Welcome Leaping Adams
--BELL--
Riddle Sideways: always funny
Adams Rubble: Good morning Riddle :)
Riddle Sideways: how was the morning traffic getting here?
Adams Rubble: It was not so bad this morning until the end but we just missed the backup from a big accident
Adams Rubble: The accident backed up 10 miles and we had to go 5 miles into it but got through before it backed up
Riddle Sideways: good and bad
Adams Rubble: they have taken the big trucks off a local road we need
Riddle Sideways: yes, the truckers find the route around things
Riddle Sideways: wondering if truckers are still on CB radio?
Riddle Sideways: or if they have gone Internet
Adams Rubble: NJ cracking down on distracted drivers the next 3 weeks
Riddle Sideways: Maps is good at notifying of congestion head
Adams Rubble: no playing with the radio eating snacks talking on cell phones playing with GPS
Adams Rubble: or speeding :)
Riddle Sideways: ah, great
Adams Rubble: everyone was speeding on the way back today
Riddle Sideways: just having a police car on the side of the road slows cars down
Adams Rubble: two lanes going 80 mph in 65 mph zone
Riddle Sideways: well they jam on brakes sometimes
Adams Rubble: yes but none there this mroning
Riddle Sideways: plus at 80 they often cut in and out of lanes
Adams Rubble: yes, they do
Riddle Sideways: to get 1 more car ahead
Adams Rubble nods
Adams Rubble: slows everyone behind them down for them to do it
Adams Rubble: but we have speeded our way to PaB this morning
Riddle Sideways: great
Riddle Sideways: saw Adams on early today
Adams Rubble: APAPB full speeed ahead
Adams Rubble: got on early while someone was eating
Riddle Sideways: Appreciate it All
Adams Rubble: the short and the thin and the tall
Adams Rubble: Appreciate it All
Riddle Sideways: ahhhhhhh
Adams Rubble: Life is like a biouncy ball
Riddle Sideways: "isn't it"
Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: had 2 cars in town yesterday, so took the 2 different roads home.
Riddle Sideways: got home first by 10 minutes
Riddle Sideways: however, that is not The Topic today
Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: the wobbly wheel
Adams Rubble: the bouncy ball
Riddle Sideways: was thinking of RP Role Playing
Adams Rubble: say more
Riddle Sideways: great numbers of SL people are on and doing RP
Riddle Sideways: communities of RP
Riddle Sideways: living out lives they could not in RL
Riddle Sideways: some dangerious sims
Riddle Sideways: some rich and famous
Riddle Sideways: some bar, dancing, etc.
Riddle Sideways: have thought this only a small bit about PaB
Riddle Sideways: because we are mostly being authentic, real, etc. and just extensions of selves
Riddle Sideways: however, there is the "Trying on"
Riddle Sideways: some cloths, an avatar, a part, a role
--BELL--
Adams Rubble is not in position to judge anyone for role playing :)
Riddle Sideways: a group of RPers that Play as if being Being
Riddle Sideways: not judging
Riddle Sideways: not sure it is worth anything to tell the long story
Riddle Sideways: was on a sim of Na'vi. From the movie "Avatar"
Adams Rubble listens
Riddle Sideways: right there, was the whole avatar thinking starting
Riddle Sideways: guide showed where to click to get a body shape and another with a free skin and tail and and
Riddle Sideways: at some point had become a different avi
Riddle Sideways: but am chatting about PaB
Riddle Sideways: and ref the Typist behind
Riddle Sideways: and the meta behind that
Riddle Sideways: flash, it is avatars all the way down
Riddle Sideways: and up
Riddle Sideways: the short and the tall
Riddle Sideways: Then having stated that PaB is not really RP
Riddle Sideways: and backing to well it sort of is
Riddle Sideways: well it really is
Riddle Sideways: hmmmm
Riddle Sideways: twisted all the way down
Adams Rubble: some of us role play to a degree
Riddle Sideways: going offline and outside to pull weeds did not really ground the troubled mind
Riddle Sideways: (sorry, watching the noob in the sky)
Adams Rubble: but if PaB had been completely role play then I would not have felt the need to speak out that first year and say I am not what I appear to be
Adams Rubble: and pema would not have felt that he knew me before meeting me in RL
Riddle Sideways: well, you were pushed to that
Adams Rubble: although he still wanted to look me in the yees :)
Riddle Sideways: ㋡
Adams Rubble: eyes
Riddle Sideways: some feel the need to look into the real eyes
Riddle Sideways: some only need to hear the heart
Adams Rubble nods
Adams Rubble: Maybe someone who is a teacher even though he says he is not a teacher needs to do that before pushing the pupil to new vistas
Riddle Sideways: personally, there are several in this group which Riddle would not really ever want to meet in RL
Riddle Sideways: if meeting a RL avatar were to lock the image of an old frail bodied person into the mind
--BELL--
Riddle Sideways: would there still be the time to skip and dance together
Riddle Sideways: would the relationship with the Av still be forefront
Adams Rubble: if meeting the person showed an old frail person maybe it would say something about our stereotypes of an old frail person :)
Riddle Sideways: yes, of course it would and should and shake that up
Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble glad you understood I was speaking gently
Adams Rubble: I think everyone I met in RL added to the richness. For some people I see both their RL person and their avatar
Adams Rubble: knowing their role is a very personal part of them and is a contact point throught which we can communicate
Riddle Sideways: "All the world's a Stage, and all the men and women merely players"
Adams Rubble looks at her profile
Riddle Sideways: Oh! had not seen that
Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: all the world is 2 stages
Adams Rubble: or a bouncy ball
Riddle Sideways: and there is the RP of assigning a role to the minor players met on the street today
Riddle Sideways: minor players that pass by
Riddle Sideways: until the elevator gets stuck and a conversation starts
Riddle Sideways: finding a deep person in the passerby
Riddle Sideways: wondering about the noob flying out there
Riddle Sideways: they were not old enough to get on this sim
Riddle Sideways: might have become good friends
Riddle Sideways: when they learn to chat
Riddle Sideways: the RP here
Adams Rubble: In RL, "Why am I here?" is a question one might ponder
--BELL--
Riddle Sideways: might
Adams Rubble: IN SL this is probably answerable although it might be complex
Adams Rubble: here for a few reasons
Adams Rubble: we decide to be in SL
Adams Rubble: we just arrive in RL
Riddle Sideways: "And one man in his time plays many parts, His acts being seven ages."
Adams Rubble: gibe or take 6
Adams Rubble: give
Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: "come into SL and remake yerself into what ya want to try out"
Adams Rubble: that is how it was sold to me
Riddle Sideways: hard to make an old person, but most other fantastic beast, pretty person, furry cartoon character
Riddle Sideways: a Na'vi sitting upon a 10 foot mushroom of vivid colors, trying to discribe chat regarding zeroth time
Riddle Sideways: avatars all the way down
Riddle Sideways: the wheel comes to a stop and the selection is RP a deep thinker sitting on a cushion
Riddle Sideways: thinking that RP
Riddle Sideways: taking this hour to work it out
Riddle Sideways: test the waters with odd ideas?
Riddle Sideways: Now, thinking PaB is all in on RP
Riddle Sideways: set aside those other roles and what are you
Adams Rubble is grateful that PaB was here
Riddle Sideways: Yes!
Adams Rubble: playing roles helps us shed our main role(s) and get closer to what we are
Adams Rubble: playing roles helps us to look at ourselves from different perspectives
Adams Rubble: playing roles helps us to see others from something closer to their perspective
Adams Rubble: IF (a big if) we are playing roles to do that
Adams Rubble: if we are playing an eightteenth century pirate seelkling to rob everybody else it does not help us much
--BELL--
Adams Rubble: thank you so much for being here :)
Riddle Sideways: snap
Riddle Sideways: Yes, most enjoyable morning
Riddle Sideways: thank you
Adams Rubble: good to be reminded of things
Riddle Sideways: now, go play
Adams Rubble: yes, must find the group
Riddle Sideways: 11 years ...
Adams Rubble: bye for now
Riddle Sideways: by All
