Riddle, Eden and Adams
Journeys to the East and to the West
Riddle Sideways: Morning, this is a nice place to sit
Adams Rubble: Good morning Riddle :)
Adams Rubble: the landscape this way is a metaphor for emptiness
Riddle Sideways: oh, that is one way of thinking of it
Adams Rubble: PaB listener is missing Eden this morning
Riddle Sideways: keeps asking out for an Eden
Riddle Sideways: thinking of a doggie staring out the window waiting for master to come home
Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: here is Eden :)
Riddle Sideways: use to be wild grasses out in that field
Eden Haiku: Hi Adams and Riddle, sorry for my tardiness. Had to reboot :)
Riddle Sideways: reboot Mondays, Happen ㋡

Riddle Sideways: plus, daylight is earlier
Riddle Sideways: now
Adams Rubble: I still have what seems to be a cold from my trip and I haven't adjusted back to East Coast time
Riddle Sideways: Introduced and mentioned Hilma Af Klint to a couple others also
Eden Haiku: Jet lag seems always easier when you come from further east, I noticed that
Riddle Sideways: told San, who already knew and loved Af Klint's work
Eden Haiku: Will read your Thursday session :)
Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: sat next to a teen on plane who was blowing nose every 4.5 minutes

Eden Haiku: Sorry Riddle...
Adams Rubble: if people could only learn to share love like they do germs
Eden Haiku: smiles

Instead off deep quiet pause
Riddle Sideways: thank you,
Riddle Sideways: read about Alice instead of deep quiet pause :(
Riddle Sideways: not sure what Narrative Fiction is
Eden Haiku: Thought about the floods instead of deep quiet pause :(
Adams Rubble: took the hard sand out of my eyes instead of deep quiet pause :(
Eden Haiku: That explains our quietness. Bell didn't have to shhh us :)
Adams Rubble: :)
Eden Haiku: Rivers and lakes around Montreal are overflowing with melted snow and lots of rain. flooding suburban towns...5000 people are stranded, out of their homes.
Adams Rubble: ohhh. We did not hear about that down here :(
Riddle Sideways: had not heard
Riddle Sideways: either
Adams Rubble: weather is getting so extreme everywhere
Eden Haiku: I'm your news channel from up North :)
Eden Haiku: Yes,extreme weather. Experts call the flooding "millenial" (once chance on 1000 to get it) and it's the second one in two years...
Adams Rubble: yes Eden
Adams Rubble is not looking forward to the once in a millenium storms
Eden Haiku: Greta Thunberg wrote on Twitter today :"activism works/then act"
Riddle Sideways: yes, there are becoming more stories from around the world of activism being effective
Eden Haiku: Reached out to family members who live in the area. They are safe but they have friends who lost their homes...
Adams Rubble: :(
Eden Haiku: Some people had to leave very quickly when a dam broke and had to leave their pets
Riddle Sideways: :(
Eden Haiku: Canada just bought more oil from Saudi Arabia...
Riddle Sideways: is that on Mr. T's no buy list?
Eden Haiku: Feeling powerless andwondering what to do in order to "act"
Eden Haiku: Mr T., is pretending a lot of things. Saying one thing, doing something else.
--BELL--
Eden Haiku: He refused asylum to Puigdemont, the catalan leader....
Eden Haiku: But gave 10 millions dollars to an ex- terrorist from Guantanamo...
Riddle Sideways: he has found 'Executive Privilege' and is going to use that all over
Eden Haiku: Yes :(
Riddle Sideways:feeling old and feeling proud (at the same time) of the young generations for getting up and out to action
Eden Haiku: Any good news?
Eden Haiku: Ah yes, the young generations are out to action, that's nice :)
Riddle Sideways: Greta and Parkland have lit fires under a generation
Eden Haiku: Didn't hear from Gonzalez for a while, is she still active for gun control?
Rebooting and breaking buds
Onigokko!
Eden Haiku: onigokko
Riddle Sideways: not finding anything recent
Riddle Sideways: thank you
Eden Haiku: stop
Eden Haiku: onigokko
Eden Haiku: Shaking it off :)
Eden Haiku: Admiring Adams beautiful skirt
Eden Haiku: stop
Eden Haiku: Ah! A fresh start.Rebooting our conversation :)
Eden Haiku: Silent and thoughtful we are :)
Adams Rubble wakes up and rubs eyes
Eden Haiku: Still jet lagged Adams?
Adams Rubble: yes and have cold
Eden Haiku: Ah yes, and the cold...
Eden Haiku: Sorry for that…
--BELL--
Eden Haiku: Spent the pause sipping my coffee
Eden Haiku: Tasting it
Eden Haiku: Enjoying it
Eden Haiku: Contemplating the breaking red buds
Riddle Sideways: just heard today's newspaper hit driveway. thinking to not open it
Eden Haiku: In the maple tree
Adams Rubble looks at newspaper in the maple tree
Riddle Sideways: oh, the colors back East were so beautiful
Eden Haiku: :))
Adams Rubble: yes love the colors this time of year
Riddle Sideways: bushes and trees and flowers
Eden Haiku: Are the trees in bloom already where you were Riddle?
Riddle Sideways: not much
Riddle Sideways:or not as much as saw back there
Adams Rubble: our dogwoods and red bud and magnolias and fruit trees are vainly showing off their colors
Eden Haiku: Here it's only tiny buds, still, some hope of a Spring :)
Riddle Sideways: the Magnolia has like 4 blossoms
Eden Haiku: Magnolias are just buds still...
Riddle Sideways: well the Lavender at the end of driveway is all in bloom
Eden Haiku: At last, all the snow has melted
Adams Rubble: the little ones were in full bloom when on the west coast
Riddle Sideways: the meadow is starting to show Lupine
Eden Haiku: oh, lavender smells so divine Riddle!
Adams Rubble: yes lavender is wonderful
Riddle Sideways: yes, brush hand over it when down there to get paper and it smells so nice
Eden Haiku: It's a fragrance so full of grace isn'it? Freshness and delicateness (no such a word I'm afraid but you know what I mean :)
Riddle Sideways: yes
Eden Haiku: Sang an old French song, a folk song from the Middle Ages it seems that I remember from childhood. It is about lovers sleeping in a bed fragrant with lavender :)
Riddle Sideways: there is one field in the Salinas Valley that we drive by that has Lavender as far as can see
Eden Haiku: OH!
Eden Haiku: that must be exhilarating!
Eden Haiku: remembers spending two summer months in the Drome Valley in France and getting dizzy on the lavender smells on each and every field :)
Eden Haiku: Walking on little roads surrounded by the rolling hills of Pre-Alps
Riddle Sideways: not sure what the other flower areas are. but there are 3 other fields of solid red, yellow and white
Eden Haiku: wow! California is such a paradise!
Riddle Sideways: Windows background and/or boot screen used to be of those French Lavender fields/hills
Eden Haiku: Virtual lavender smell good as well :)
Riddle Sideways: the next valley over is the Salinas Valley and feeds much of the world all year
Eden Haiku: Little tender green leaves are showing up on weeping willows :)
Riddle Sideways: so neat to drive it
Riddle Sideways: each half mile it changes to a different crop
Eden Haiku: Many of our greens and vegetables and fruits are from California :)
Riddle Sideways: who eats all those Brussel Sprouts
Eden Haiku: We can buy local veggies and fruits only during the summer months
Riddle Sideways: and we have Strawberries in February
—BELL—
Broccoli and Cauliflower fields
Eden Haiku: smiles at Riddle's dislike. Same here :) [Brussels sprouts]
Riddle Sideways: no no actually like Brussel Sprouts, but less then one plant per year
Riddle Sideways: the shortcut to go to the Bay area and airports goes through theBroccoli and Cauliflower fields area
Adams Rubble: that should be a song
Riddle Sideways: probably was, but nobody bought it
Eden Haiku: Saw a movie shot in Iqaluit, in the Nunavut, far north territory where Inuits live. The son had killed a seal and proudly brings it home. They cut it on the floor and all the family eats the raw meat, even the toddler.
Eden Haiku: Without the California Broccoli and Cauliflower fields, we would be reduced to eat meat...hard on vegans :))
Eden Haiku: Especially raw meat...
Riddle Sideways: very hard to digest
Adams Rubble: there are advantages to being an omnivore
Eden Haiku: There are....
Eden Haiku: But I was a vegetarian at birth, so...
Eden Haiku: Kind of :)
Adams Rubble: wow, at birth?
Eden Haiku: I'm sure my mom fed me sausages and such horrid meat when I was young...
Eden Haiku: As soon as I could, I refused meat:)
Adams Rubble grew up in the land of meat and potatoes
Eden Haiku: Here too, meat and potatoes...But I ate only the potatoes :)
Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: yep, grew up in that land of meat and potatoes and snow.Moved away about 19

Eden Haiku: I love cows though. Loving cows with languid eyes :)
Eden Haiku: "Living" cows
Eden Haiku: Living and loving cows
Adams Rubble: cows are beautiful animals
Riddle Sideways: grew up with stupid cows. like goats though
Adams Rubble: bulls are mean though
Eden Haiku: Stupid cows? No, they are just cooler than us :)
Adams Rubble:cows are laid back like Buddhists
Eden Haiku: My uncle had a dairy farm and I used to feed the cows in the stable
Adams Rubble: laid back
Eden Haiku: Buddisht cows :)))
Adams Rubble: Bulls are like Mara
Riddle Sideways:worked dairy farms. up at 5am working is Not the teenage way
Adams Rubble: nooo
Eden Haiku: Said that already, but one of my best memories of India is this ceremony honoring cows and feeding them sesame cakes :)
Adams Rubble: getting up at 5 am can make a teenage dislike cows
Eden Haiku: Yeah, that kind of work must have been hard Riddle. Mine was only an occasional week end thing for a city girl :)
Adams Rubble: my mother was very happy to escape the farm
Adams Rubble: wanted no part of it
Eden Haiku: My dad also. His father was a farmer.
—BELL--
Eden Haiku: My granddad is the one who planted the maple tree I'm contemplating in the window right now, all bare except for red buds :)
Riddle Sideways: Just saw cows from a different view
Adams Rubble: my grandfather could not stand the city--farming was his joy
Adams Rubble: nice eden :)
Adams Rubble: I must go. I am working on a project
Adams Rubble: I hope you both have a wonderful day
Eden Haiku: Bye Adams,. Hope the cold goes away swiftly. Take care :)
Riddle Sideways: oh! just noticed that the company that sells Lupin/Lupine seeds is "Eden Brothers"
Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble waves
Eden Haiku: Nice name fore a company :)
Riddle Sideways: hope you have the most fun project
Adams Rubble: oh eden--did you claim log?
Eden Haiku: Forgot, tks!
Adams Rubble: I had claimed it to stop listener reminders
Adams Rubble: bye for now
Riddle Sideways: bye for now
Eden Haiku: Thank you
Eden Haiku: Any plans for today Riddle, beyond recycling?
Riddle Sideways: so maybe plans, huge plans, RL is yelling them out :))
Riddle Sideways: just reminded this is the 5th Monday of a month so an extra feed homeless evening
Eden Haiku: Me too :) Did nothing much about these during the week end. So now they are screaming too...
Eden Haiku: So wonderful you do volunteering. That is something I should start doing...
Eden Haiku: You and Adams are such an inspiration about that kind of activism :)
Riddle Sideways: was not able to do much volunteering during working years
Riddle Sideways: having to pay it back
Eden Haiku: Always wanted to volunteer for children. Never did...
Eden Haiku: You have to make a year round commitment, which is hard for me...
Riddle Sideways: volunteered yesterday at the Marathon here
Eden Haiku: Wow, and today again, tonite?
Riddle Sideways: stand and point which way the runners-walkers should go
Riddle Sideways: and cheer them on
Eden Haiku: That's very needed :)
Eden Haiku: And it feeds your own soul too :)
Riddle Sideways: the downhill at 3 mile point people were all smiles
Eden Haiku: Must have been wonderful to see :)
Riddle Sideways: the coming back uphill 6 mile point people were not so smily
Eden Haiku: :)
Riddle Sideways: this was the 12K race part of the weekend
Riddle Sideways: in a most lovely park here
Riddle Sideways: so actually getting up and out by 5 was a good start to a Sunday
Eden Haiku: Walking my 10k steps by a cold river and gusts of wind on Saturday here, and Sunday in the park, less windy and sunny at last ;)
Riddle Sideways: should go.One RL voice is listing off the tasks
Eden Haiku: You prefer getting up for runners than for cows or you are not a teenager anymore? Have a great day Riddle !
Riddle Sideways: thanks for the day
Eden Haiku: Thank you :))
