Adams Dubrovna: Good morning Riddle :)
Riddle Sideways: Mrning, go ahead and pick a cushion
Riddle Sideways: *Godd Morning
Riddle Sideways: *Good
--BELL--
Adams Dubrovna: Is Eden coming?
Riddle Sideways: not sure, looking over at email now
Riddle Sideways: seeing nothing
Adams Dubrovna: I may have to leave at a moments notice
Riddle Sideways: ok,
Adams Dubrovna: company on their way
Riddle Sideways: is there still ... ah
Why Dubrovna made a rare appearance here today
Adams Dubrovna: the other Adams has been sent on vacation for rest and recuperation
Riddle Sideways: might as well grab the log. not too hard
Adams Dubrovna: :)
Riddle Sideways: unless there is important caht
Adams Dubrovna: :)
Adams Dubrovna: The answer to the meaning of life is........
Riddle Sideways: 42
Adams Dubrovna: stay tuned
Riddle Sideways: done
Riddle Sideways: bet, you never read those books
Adams Dubrovna: what books?
Riddle Sideways: far too silly
Riddle Sideways: Douglas Adams - Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy
Adams Dubrovna has read my share of silly books
Adams Dubrovna: no, did not read that; tried to watch PBS show and got lost
Adams Dubrovna: and Bridey was the star
Adams Dubrovna: which was why we watched
Adams Dubrovna: Bridey from the series Brideshead revisited
Riddle Sideways: it was much about getting lost in the plot twists
Riddle Sideways: and forward/backward referrences
Adams Dubrovna: I've never been know as the patient sort :)
Adams Dubrovna: which is funny because I red Joyce's Yllyses
Riddle Sideways: there are refs in book 1 that are not connected until book 6
Riddle Sideways: but twisted in book 4
Riddle Sideways: Adams famously advised authors to Not blow up the earth in chapter one of any trilogy they were writing
Adams Dubrovna perks up at the name Adams
Riddle Sideways: yes
Riddle Sideways: BTW - where is Rubble today?
Adams Dubrovna: see 7:02 - she has been sent on vacation to recuperate
Adams Dubrovna: who knew this would become necessary
--BELL--
Riddle Sideways: ha
Riddle Sideways: so much company
Riddle Sideways: so much fun
Riddle Sideways: need a vacation
Adams Dubrovna: not coping well
Riddle Sideways: so, not a good time to ask you about up coming gallery openings
Adams Dubrovna: nothing is in the works
Riddle Sideways: or any questions about getting other things done
Adams Dubrovna: not sure what is going to happen
Riddle Sideways: what a great state to be in
Adams Dubrovna: RL projects are so all consuming right now
Riddle Sideways: same here
Adams Dubrovna: began a database over the weekend for all the metadata
Riddle Sideways: great
Riddle Sideways: file it all away
Adams Dubrovna: 7500 tems ready to go in before starting on the backlog
Riddle Sideways: wow
Adams Dubrovna: this is a new phase of the project though
Adams Dubrovna: starting to make it all searchable
Adams Dubrovna: so my other blog is on hold too
Adams Dubrovna: while I get more material searchable
Riddle Sideways: did much reading about tech and tools for slicing and dicing then reassembling media and info yesterday
Riddle Sideways: yet another wave of the future
Riddle Sideways: will not distract you with any of it
Adams Dubrovna: do you mean working with video?
Riddle Sideways: need to get your current data in
Riddle Sideways: much of it is about any given story. How much and what presentation media was the story going out as
Riddle Sideways: if the reader had only 2 minutes or an hour
Riddle Sideways: was very interested or just given the mention
Riddle Sideways: the BBC R&D people are all over it
Adams Dubrovna: attention spans of the younger groups getting smaller
Riddle Sideways: it is a personal upsetness thing, over NPR 45-minute stories
Riddle Sideways: being in the kitchen for the whole time
Riddle Sideways: yet every few minutes they have to take a break
Riddle Sideways: (for a commericial, on non-commercial radio)
Riddle Sideways: going to that break, they always take a minute to say "this is me with her, when we come back we will talk about something interesting"
--BELL--
Riddle Sideways: then they come back and say "if you are just joining us... I am talking with her about ..."
Riddle Sideways: all that could be skipped
Riddle Sideways: but put in, if one had left the room
Riddle Sideways: sorry, personal rant, wishing for personalized stories
Riddle Sideways: of course without twisting the story line to exclude "Those Others' views"
Adams Dubrovna: there is so much media now, we all are having different expriences
Riddle Sideways: yes, and wish it to go one step further and give the consummer interactive control over it
Adams Dubrovna: some of us do not listen to the radio any more. NPR not so easy to get in our area
Adams Dubrovna: although they keep sending requests for money :)
Riddle Sideways: ha, yes
Riddle Sideways: now an App on your phone
Riddle Sideways: to ask for funds
Adams Dubrovna: ha ha-- you haven't seen my phone
Riddle Sideways: good for you
Riddle Sideways: 25 years ago, tried to get NPR at parents house, so they could listen to "A prarie home companion"
Riddle Sideways: could not get it
Riddle Sideways: so, started taping it on cassette tapes (remember those kids?) and sending it to them
Riddle Sideways: was a great present to them
Adams Dubrovna: :)
Adams Dubrovna: yes
Adams Dubrovna: then "Me Too" caught up with him
Riddle Sideways: a shame
Riddle Sideways: it caught up to others, and some of them did not quit and go away
Adams Dubrovna nods
Adams Dubrovna: (log stalls while they ponder that)
Riddle Sideways: (drifted off pondering)
Riddle Sideways: the Biggest offenders don't care, don't have the morales, get away, etc. bahhhhh
Adams Dubrovna nods
--BELL--
Riddle Sideways: there would be days that would not like to hear those stories, and then some days would like to hear all of them compiled
Riddle Sideways: so far that is the algorithm's problems
Riddle Sideways: putting a multi-personality into a single box
Adams Dubrovna: the world is best when one is walking in the woods
Riddle Sideways: serving up adverts for a better refrig after already bought
Adams Dubrovna: maybe we should be given an instruction sheet when we come of age
Riddle Sideways: whaaaaa?
Riddle Sideways: nobody gets to know the instructions
Riddle Sideways: they Must be tried and errored until the end
Adams Dubrovna: who sez?
Riddle Sideways: always has been
Riddle Sideways: imagine a world with no sex education, where each had to figure it out themselvers. for example
Adams Dubrovna: no way to run a railroad
Riddle Sideways: anyway, did you notice that the ice rink melted
Riddle Sideways: and Bunbun is back
Adams Dubrovna: oh no, I just came up the steps
Riddle Sideways: July is the end of skating season
Adams Dubrovna: :)
Adams Dubrovna: the ice melted at the north pole last Spring :)
Riddle Sideways: even tho the days have been cool here
Adams Dubrovna: :)
Adams Dubrovna: btw, you haven't commented on the outfit that Rubble bought for me
Riddle Sideways: well, have tried to think how to word those comments ㋡
Adams Dubrovna: ahhh
Riddle Sideways: a suit and tie, with leopard skin smoking jacket and leopard skin slippers
Riddle Sideways: a Gentleman's relaxing to read the paper outfit
--BELL--
Adams Dubrovna: :)
Riddle Sideways: always wondered and pondered the phrase "Smoking Jacket"
Riddle Sideways: cigars or pipes
Adams Dubrovna: this is supposed to be a doo wop outfit
Riddle Sideways: to absorb the stink? then taken off?
Adams Dubrovna: :)
Riddle Sideways: oh it is doo wop also
Riddle Sideways: the tie messes that up
Riddle Sideways: almost a Krazy Kat
Riddle Sideways: so, along with the SL16B sweet 16 theme
Adams Dubrovna: somehow it doesn't work
Adams Dubrovna: maybe it is the hair
Riddle Sideways: maybe. the hair is more 60's
Riddle Sideways: 50's had a big wave of hair up in the front
Adams Dubrovna: yes, a little dab will do ya
Riddle Sideways: had to use goop to make it stand up
Adams Dubrovna: kookie, kookie, lend me your comb
Riddle Sideways: ... darn telemarketers, they are spoofing the local exchange numbers into the caller id
Adams Dubrovna: yes
Riddle Sideways: YES! Kookie
Riddle Sideways: had to carry a comb in back pocket all the time
Riddle Sideways: Doby Gillis and Maynard G Crebs
Riddle Sideways: 77 Sunset Strip
Adams stood and danced just right for the outfit. Took 2 photos, but neither turned out correctly. Darn settings that show a good preview then chop the left side off.
Adams Dubrovna: well we made the whole session
Adams Dubrovna: will not be here tomorrow; will be with visitors
Riddle Sideways: pondering if there was any topic in there
Adams Dubrovna: one of us will be here Thursday
Riddle Sideways: oh ok
Riddle Sideways: looking over at calendar
Riddle Sideways: hmmm, still on June
Adams Dubrovna: :)))
Riddle Sideways: adds "turn page" to todo list
Adams Dubrovna: could be worse
Adams Dubrovna: sorry I was not good for a topic
Adams Dubrovna: btw, the answer is beanstalk but that has been said here before
Riddle Sideways: was also bad at it
Riddle Sideways: ok, back to Life, which is already in progress
Adams Dubrovna: :)
Adams Dubrovna: bye for now
Riddle Sideways: great dance
Adams Dubrovna: have a good few days
Adams Dubrovna waves
Riddle Sideways: yes, you too. enjoy the company and then the relaxing
