2019.09.26 07:00 - More Country Music

The Guardian for this meeting was Adams Rubble. The comments are by Adams Rubble.

I reacted negatively to the last episode of the Ken Burns 8-part special on country music. I had woken up and played with writing my own country song and had placed in my blog at https://rubblebornthoughts.wordpress.com/2019/09/26/country-1388/. This is the refence Riddle makes early in the session. I had a different unknown tune in my head as I wrote it; it was interesting that Riddle chose This Land is Your Land. I managed to get rhymes but my meter leaves much to be desired.

Adams Rubble: Good morning Riddle :)
    --BELL--
Riddle Sideways: Good morning, Adams ㋡

Riddle Sideways: did you try to sleep mad?
Adams Rubble: interesting question--I don;t think so
    Riddle Sideways: good
Riddle Sideways: writing is a good thing to do when Mad
Riddle Sideways: Sending what was written is not always a good idea
Adams Rubble: They spent seven nights bringing us together and then it was undone the last night but that may be do to the toime period when the country was dividing
Adams Rubble: The Johnny Cash sequence was great last night. I am listening to one of his last albums right now
Riddle Sideways: ah, heard one of those songs yesterday
Riddle Sideways: the episode we watched (#3) was saying the genre should have been named "Folk Music"
Riddle Sideways: but that it did not quite get there
Riddle Sideways: that name went to the other Folks music

    Adams Rubble: politics interevened
Riddle Sideways: so, (not having seen the last episode) are you surprised that it followed the nations movements
    Adams Rubble: no
    Adams Rubble: not really
Adams Rubble: but my complaints were probably about the editing
    Riddle Sideways: how so?
Adams Rubble: well not editing but Jen Burns oversold it
    Adams Rubble: Ken
    --BELL--
Adams Rubble: Maybe I don't know what i am saying; I just got mad and felt I had wasted my time after it was over but then I enjoyed much of the music up to the past episode
Riddle Sideways: also don't know, but can bet Ken Burns has a huge ego, demands a lot out of the people working and trys to take lots of credit
    Riddle Sideways: like any Artiste
    Adams Rubble: :)
    Adams Rubble: little Napoleon
Riddle Sideways: do not know if he is a Prima Donna, but so many in the high levels of Art are

Adams Rubble: country is so wrapped up with the political right
    Riddle Sideways: now. yes
Riddle Sideways: who are pointing at the evil left
Riddle Sideways: and the divide gets wider
Adams Rubble: yes, yesterday did not help
Riddle Sideways: (for the log) yesterday News cycle was all about starting impeachment hearing/investigations
    Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: along with yesterday being days of young people yelling that the planet needs healing, fixing, cleaning. it is dying
    Adams Rubble nods
Adams Rubble thinks Riddle should be editing today

Riddle Sideways: you passed on the Paul McCartney on Colbert ref (thank you)
    Riddle Sideways: watched it
Riddle Sideways: and the mentioning of 3,000 covers of Yesterday
Riddle Sideways: then last night the refs to fights between artist that covered (and re-arranged) each other's songs
Riddle Sideways: one got mad and forced Grand ole Opry to not let so-and-so on the show
Adams Rubble: ,uch of that stuff
Adams Rubble: lots of lies and hypocrisy but then that probably is in all genres
    --BELL--
