    --BELL--

Adams Rubble: Good morning Eden and Riddle :)
Eden Haiku: Good morning Adams :))
Adams Rubble: Happy Election Day, Eden :)
    Riddle Sideways: splashed water
Riddle Sideways: right, hear it is election day
Eden Haiku: Thank you! Yes it is :)
Eden Haiku: Smiles at Adams and I both wearing kind of Indian outfits this morning :)
Adams Rubble: :) mine is Moorish
Eden Haiku: Will go vote this afternoon.
Adams Rubble wishes we could vote today
    Eden Haiku: Ah, Moorish yes...sorry.
    Adams Rubble:has had enough
Riddle Sideways: still another year to go here
Eden Haiku: I understand. Being on election day is a great relief after all the debates...
    Adams Rubble sighs
Riddle Sideways: and have had enough
Riddle Sideways: heard that one of the big scandals is the one candidate had an american father
Eden Haiku: Yes, it's still many many months away for you. Many more stupid tweets, bullying and mass killings to come... Hopefully, I'm wrong and things will turn differently ....
    Riddle Sideways: we can hope
Eden Haiku: smiles at Adams now wearing a beautiful pink sari :)
Adams Rubble tries to fit in
Riddle Sideways: Riddle has quit trying to fit in

    Oct 21th_010 copie.jpg

Adams changed her outfit for a beautiful pink sari

    Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: it takes an inventory :)
Eden Haiku: But I understand you were still in the Spain kicking out Moors and Jews theme :)
    Adams Rubble: to paraphrase Hillary
Riddle Sideways: and finding what you want in an inventory
Eden Haiku: admires Adams' organization of wardrobe....
Eden Haiku: Marie Kondo would be proud of you
Eden Haiku: Election Day is always scary...
    Adams Rubble nods
Eden Haiku: Situation isn'it good, but it can get worse
Adams Rubble: our last presidental election has been scaring us ever sonce
Adams Rubble: yes look south and say it can get worse
Riddle Sideways: the whole thing of making up one's own mind and then not everybody going along
Eden Haiku: Yes. and scaring the whole world too
Eden Haiku: Exactly Riddle :) If only they would all vote
Adams Rubble: we wish some of them had forgot to vote
Eden Haiku: like me I meant :)
    Riddle Sideways:
Adams Rubble: your outfit will go well with the exhibit at the new museum annex, Eden :)
Eden Haiku: I’m participating to a meeting this week. It's called "a circle of talking"

    --BELL--

Eden Haiku: Not sure of the wording. It's from the Natives, who used to sit in a circle and talk their differences and try to make peace with each other.
Eden Haiku: The theme is "fear of the foreigners, fear of the other"
    Riddle Sideways: good theme
    Adams Rubble nods
    Riddle Sideways: to work out
Riddle Sideways: is it one of those circles with a Talking stick?
Riddle Sideways: and ya get to hit the non-conforming members

Eden Haiku: Yes Adams, I will find time to go this week. My seminar has a reading week
Riddle Sideways: whoops, forgot to add humour smiley :))
Eden Haiku: Yes Riddle, with the talking stick. But it seems the stick is only symbolic. it's there but we don't really use it they said...
Eden Haiku: laughs at Riddle's joke she just got LOL
Eden Haiku: I would have been tempted to use it on the talking head of the woman organizing the group. She talked non-stop and in a very offensive way at the pre-meeting last week...

Only 30 books in a house?

    Oct 21th_007.jpg

    Books tend to multiply themselves!

Riddle Sideways: had to look up who Marie Kondo is. Now wondering about those of me that like piling lots of 'stuff' up
Riddle Sideways: great joy is shuffling through the piles looking at stuff
Eden Haiku: She would let you have only 30 books in your house Riddle. Marie Kondo that is :)
Eden Haiku: Can you imagine, only 30 books?
Riddle Sideways: how can a house only have 30 books
Adams Rubble has less than 30 books in my inventory :)
Eden Haiku: Ah yes, our avatars are exemplar that way :)
Riddle Sideways: nope. just looked and have many books
Riddle Sideways: some objects named 'pile of scattered books'
Riddle Sideways: in 5 different colors

Adams Rubble: have to open my web browser
Eden Haiku: Books tend to multiply themselves don't they?
Riddle Sideways: and have one house with a bedroom with many scattered book piles, but a linkset not named books
Riddle Sideways: Yes, books multiply until they block the bed table lamp
Eden Haiku: Just bought Margaret Atwood's "The Testaments".
Adams Rubble: it looks like we are set up for a garage sale
    Eden Haiku: Yep :)
Riddle Sideways: build a small cabin of the books
Riddle Sideways: the founder of Burning Man died the year before and there was a memorial build piece out there that was all books
Eden Haiku: Atwood won the Man Booker Award with that sequel to the "Handmaid's Tale". Started reading it last night and it's fascinating.
    Adams Rubble: hmmm
Eden Haiku: oh, the founder died?
Riddle Sideways: 6 pilars of books holding up a glass case containing photos and momentos. then roof of books
    Eden Haiku: wow!
Eden Haiku: No burning of the books I hope?
Riddle Sideways: sorry, Yes they burned it

    --BELL--

    Adams Rubble: :(
Eden Haiku: In the "The Handmaid's Tale" Canada is a safe haven for those poor Americans in the hand of ultra-conservative Bible belt pastors....
Eden Haiku: But in reality, ultra-conservatives can be elected here...The guy with an American passport is very very right-wing.
    Adams Rubble nods
Adams Rubble: they are being elected everywhere
    Eden Haiku: Scary
    Riddle Sideways: Scary
Adams Rubble: yes, it is a dangerous time
Eden Haiku: hums "Strangers in the Night" for no apparent reason...

    Adams Rubble: :)
Eden Haiku: All the books you are meant to is a great concept :)
Eden Haiku: It does feel like that doesn't it? Sometimes.
Riddle Sideways: imagine letting the elections go and just sit and read a book
Eden Haiku: In The Ascending of Mount Ventoux Petrarque says he new Saint Augustine wrote his "Confessions" for him.

    What a lovely session. <3

I appreciate M. Kondo, but she can get right out with her 30 books notion!
    Posted 16:42, 5 Nov 2019
I was inspired to take a rough count in my library ... close to 700 book-books; 400-ish kindle books ... and many library books consumed over the years not countable ... so much for "30 books" ... and I have read almost all of them. Many of them were discovered through great PaB conversations! They're like old memories of moments shared with friends ... thanks PaB!

    Yes indeed, thanks PaB!
