25-27 - Observing

[Corvi was the scribe who wrote this essay]

What struck me this time was that I was very much an observer.  Instead of being at most of these meetings..I read them later.  Most twice...once right after they occured, and once as I created this post. Yet I felt myself being there with my fellow adventurers...right there on that boat..., sitting, listening to them explore concepts and ideas.

These were some of the last postings of the first year of Play as Being. Almost all of the adventurers who embarked on this journey a year ago are still on the boat.  The voices in this project are old and new.  The ideas are all old.  Perhaps, once in a while..the twist is new.

2009.03.25 1300 Communication, time and language
Wol is GoC for Pema SophiaSharon, Mickorod, Scathach, Arabella, QT

SophiaSharon Larnia: I have been interested in the dimentional aspect of the concept of time

Mickorod Renard: yes,,time is facinating,,and the dimensional aspect of it

SophiaSharon Larnia: if everything happens at once, then what is now

Scathach Rhiadra: 'right here, right now'

Wol Euler: perception, an appearance, in effect a choice we make in how we tell stories

Mickorod Renard: yes,,I have a belief that all time is now,,but there must be some division between what has been and what is etc

    SophiaSharon Larnia: in 3D

    SophiaSharon Larnia: in our bodies

Wol Euler: but also here :) these discussions happen in time, in the now

    SophiaSharon, Threedee, Stevenaia

SophiaSharon Larnia: i am too mystical i hope the 9 sec every 15 min help ground me
    stevenaia Michinaga: mystical?
SophiaSharon Larnia: and make this easier to put in words perhaps
SophiaSharon Larnia: how can i explain? 'feeling' information and an inability to express it words I'm sorry
Threedee Shepherd: that makes sense. All information starts with the body/brain and only later becomes words.
SophiaSharon Larnia: I think you are right
SophiaSharon Larnia: it's like an extrasesory way to pick up info, but that is not a good way to explain it, as this is not 'extra' anything, it is our misunderstanding of it that makes it seems mysterious

    **************
Threedee Shepherd: I think it is important to recognize the word "Play" in PlayAsBeing. for me it means exploring ideas without necessarily accepting or denying them--playing with them, instead, to experience where that goes
    2009.03.26 01:00 - Energies
    Fael, GoC Korii, Pema, SophiaSharon
SophiaSharon Larnia: the last 12 hours has been unusual, what with every 15 minute ding
    2009.03.26 07:00 - Inhale .......exhale
Pema Pera: . . . . and I am not defending the Christian notion of sin or not-sin either
Pema Pera: but I like the twist that Geo gave to it
Pema Pera: and yes, that comes much closer to karma
Adams Rubble: Yes, that is another way to look at it
Pema Pera: and I do think that has very practical consequences:
Caledonia Heron: dealing with Sunday only christian
Pema Pera: instead of breast beating you can just debug your life
    2009.03.26 13:00 - Dialogue Fefonz-Pema #4: Being, and all that
four weeks in this series of dialogues between Fefonz and Pema
present: Fael, Storm, Mickorod, QT, Fefonz, Pema, Arabella, Scathatch, Wester, Wol
Pema Pera: [13:06] Pema Pera: I could also say "let's focus on Being" but then the question is "how?"
[13:06] Pema Pera: given that Being goes beyond words and concepts and all dichotomies
Pema Pera: And "letting Being see" seems like a concrete something you can try to explore
Pema Pera: and in my own experience, and that of several others, it seems to be quite effective
Pema Pera: at least to the point of helping to open up further for something like "Being" to begin to make more sense.
2009.03.26 19:00 - Like the Ripples on Water
Pema, Pila, Steven, SophiaSharon, Bertrum Quan, Charles2 McCaw and Threedee
Pila Mulligan: in the end, my take on the 9 second practice is that it is more of a yoga than a meditation
Pila Mulligan: a physical exercise mroe than a contemplation
The second topic of interest here is the idea of a PaB retreat center...There is a long and interesting discussion of it in this log.  If anyone in PaB is interested in living full time or part time at a retreat center please let Corvi (Corvuscorva Nightfire), Steven (Stevenaia Michiniga), or Pila Mulligan know.
    2009.03.27 01:00 - Types of meditation & Hypocrisy
Lia is GoC, and present is Corvi, Pema, Fael, SophiaSharon

Fael Illyar: I've come to the conclusion that the things about ourselves, which we are not aware of, tend to be things we'd react to in a wrong way and we instinctively know this and therefore don't know them.

Eliza Madrigal: I'm finding that it is becoming part of my rhythm...enjoy it
Eliza Madrigal: And I find it surprising that I can "feel" so full..or empty as the case may be...in those "little" moments
Pema Pera: yes, empty and complete . . .
Eliza Madrigal: (always qualifying with quotes, aren't I?) Because difficult to articulate of course...
