2012.02.22 Working Group Minutes

1.  Update info on signage and on the calendar..

Aph reported that she has has made all the appropriate changes in the wiki, to wit:

"Building on Play as Being Land" - Guardians are given Second Life build permissions on Play as Being owned land. Although from a Second Life point of view this technically applies to all Play as Being land, we ask that Guardians keep their builds to (a) their own personal guardian plot, if they have applied for one and been granted such a plot, (b) any adjacent courtyard plot (with agreement from their neighbors), (c) the Art Dome in response to calls for exhibits, and (d) the Prim Workshop area. (See also the Guardian Plot FAQ.)

"If a guardian wishes to build on a common area such as near the Pavilion, they should consult with the Play as Being Working Group first, and if the suggested build is likely to be controversial in nature (expressing, for example, political views,) written permission from the Kira Institute should be sought before any build is started.   We also ask you to build in context with the rest of the area."

Boxy reported that the calendar of PaB events is working smoothly.

2.   New guardian nominations.

There were no new nominations.

3.  A reminder that the Art as Being project for February -- "Happiness" -- will be celebrated in the Dome on Sunday, February 26th, at noon slt.

4.  Play as Being's 4th Anniversary Celebration

Several ideas for the weekend of April 1st were put forth:

• A tree that has leaves with images of of all members and events hanging from it ("Anniverstree"). The tree would stand in the centre of the Dome; 
• "Where will we be in the next 8 years?" exhibit; 
• A PaB scrap book to which all can contribute; 
• Samuo had suggested in an earlier discussion that we try to do some outreach- promote the event to other sims and groups; a project where all the guardians could collaborate on some form of event or performance that tells the story of PaB's history;
• Hanging images of PAB members' images (think: Central Park Christo "gates") all around our SIM ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Gates );
• Having every one make a banner for their own sim and possibly of also hanging the banners in the Dome;
• using the [pavilion] red ribbon as part of the 4th anniversary; having a party on April 1st?

Actions:

• Aphwill circulated these ideas by email and raise them at the Guardian meeting on Sunday;
• Bleu will discuss the April Art as Being project on Sunday at the noon celebration of the Happiness show.
