Working Group Minutes - July 11, 2012

Attending:  Bleu, Stevenaia, Bruce

ITEM 1:  New Guardian announcements/nominations

Action:  As no flags have been raised during the past four weeks concerning the nomination of a particular individual to be invited to be a guardian, Bruce will ask the person who nominated him/her to extend that invitation.  If the individual accepts the invitation, an email announcement will be made to everyone at playasbeing@**

ITEM 2:  Play as Being Copyright and Creative Commons Licensing

We continued our discussion of this topic, citing a few considerations:

- that everyone who has ever participated in the wiki is current co-owner of the copyright        

- that if we were to get a Creative Commons license, all persons active in PaB ("from this time forth") would need to give consent for that

- that the Creative Commons "issue" is whether or not we want to authorize others to use   our work (our various expressions in the wiki), and, as it stands now, they would   have to ask us for that permission

- that there have been, so far, no requests from any source to quote the wiki, nor any mis-representations of its contents that we are aware of

Action:  The Working Group continues to encourage all interested persons to read these Creative Commons Guidelines:http://fairuse.stanford.edu/Copyright_and_Fair_Use_Overview/chapter0/0-c.html

and to report to any member of the Working Group her/his specific wishes and/or grievances.  Until such concerns emerge from PaB participants and are conveyed to the Working Group, the WG may continue to consider and discuss Creative Commons licensing in its monthly meetings - but will refrain from any decision that would be binding upon the membership.
