Critters and varmints
Eden Haiku: Good morning Adams!
Adams Rubble: Good morning Eden :)
Eden Haiku: Thanks for waving, I was lost in my phone and my twtitterline :)
Adams Rubble: soon will be summer
Adams Rubble: :)
Eden Haiku: You look beautiful in this light blue :)
Adams Rubble: I was kind of lost in figuring out what to do next :)
Adams Rubble: Thank you, I like your outfit
Adams Rubble: I may have to leave early if the car gets back; it needs to go to the shop
--BELL--
Adams Rubble: Hello Riddle :)
Eden Haiku: I came in here around 10:01, looked at my phone for one instant I swear and I realize it's 10:14... Sorry I made you waiting :)
Adams Rubble: I just got here
Eden Haiku: Phew!
Eden Haiku: Good morning Riddle:)
Riddle Sideways: Morning All
Riddle Sideways: devices not working so good today
Eden Haiku: ahhh, devices ...
Eden Haiku: Still trying to take snapshots even though I still have problems posting them
Adams Rubble: Our internet was out for 24 hours last week but the squirrel had a dandy wire chew
Eden Haiku: Oh!!!
Eden Haiku: Squirrels do that?
Adams Rubble: yes, four houses were out next door and across the street from each other and the technicians checked everything first before the box that serves the four houses
Riddle Sideways: yes, similar story here
Riddle Sideways: the problem MUST be in your house
Riddle Sideways: and all the houses on this block
Riddle Sideways: have heard this story last week
Adams Rubble: :)
Eden Haiku: Hungry squirrels in the US. Here they are frozen most of the time. But today is bright and rather warm:)
Adams Rubble invisions all the frozen squirrels
Eden Haiku: yeek...
Riddle Sideways: Bring Out Yer Squirrels
Eden Haiku: Freaky image for a Monday morning, sorry Adams :)
Eden Haiku: Typos typos typos...
Adams Rubble: When we look out on our small backyard Eden, one sees at least 8 squirrels running around chewing on everything they can find. It was nore like a dream Eden :).
Adams Rubble whacks herself on the side of the head for her evil thoughts
Eden Haiku: gentle gentle Adams :)
Riddle Sideways: there is a critter called a Vole that has invaded the area and eats insulation off wires more than mice, rats and squirrels
Eden Haiku: Oh!
Riddle Sideways: more ground level wires
Adams Rubble: is that the first time we have meditated on pesky varments?
Riddle Sideways: perhaps
Eden Haiku: perhaps and most certainly :)
--BELL--
Riddle Sideways: have meditated on turkeys before
Eden Haiku: yes!
Riddle Sideways: and deer
Eden Haiku: Learning an abundance of new words: critters, varmints...
Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: haha
Eden Haiku: Can't wait to meet the deer again in a few weeks ;)
Adams Rubble: good to know those words if you ever want to watch "Beverly Hillbillies"
Riddle Sideways: wonders about the drawn out drawl 'Critters' (like said in Olde West Movies) with a French accent
Eden Haiku: Have to finish up poetry book, meet the publisher, do laundry, have nails done and pack before. And also check all the places I use my credit card online because I got the new one. Such a long day ahead...
Adams Rubble: I am going to have to go. The car is back
Adams Rubble: bye for now.
Eden Haiku: Bye for now Adams :)
Riddle Sideways: by Adams
Riddle Sideways: was little one today?
Eden Haiku: Have 14 days to do that :)
Riddle Sideways: most of those online CC accounts are good to leave as the old card and watch them complain ;)
Eden Haiku: But when I reach for PayPal, SecondLife, WordPress, Vimeo and so on where I use my online credit card, it takes ups a whole day...
Eden Haiku: Right, I just enjoy that maybe :)
Eden Haiku: Tha't a point of view :)
Eden Haiku: I always feel it's dangerous, but I guess it's not...
Eden Haiku: They started sending emails 3 weeks ago but I was too busy to start the process. Old card is good until the end of June.
Riddle Sideways: of course when you want to impulse buy a trinket riding in the car, it is hard to enter the new card info
Riddle Sideways: Whoops, meant "an important addition to your Life"
Eden Haiku: smiles
Eden Haiku: I sweat a lot about small stuff, do you?
Riddle Sideways: some times
Riddle Sideways: have a 'designated worrier' in the house
Riddle Sideways: it is our Partnership
Eden Haiku: Remembering a time when I was so much in love I had no care in the world :)
Riddle Sideways: ah
Riddle Sideways: see that is movies now :))
Eden Haiku: yes :)
Eden Haiku: Or when I was living in a meditation center in India, merging with sanskrit chants and incense fragrances, lost to the world
Riddle Sideways: such a nice place
Riddle Sideways: to be lost to the world
Eden Haiku: Yep, living like a child
--BELL--
A sick friend
Eden Haiku: Everything being taken care of by the guru (and her disciples)
Riddle Sideways: visiting a sick friend saying the same things. People taking care of everything for him, busy around him, get him to hospital, poke and prod him, dress him, take him home. Childlike
Eden Haiku: oh, that's a sad thing for him though I guess...
Eden Haiku: is he very sick?
Riddle Sideways: think so. we'll see what the Great Doctors can do.
Riddle Sideways: 4th cancer in 6 years
Eden Haiku: Sorry to hear....
Riddle Sideways: is so sorry for the rest of us, but he has that attitude
Riddle Sideways: of ok
Riddle Sideways: very much like the sanskrit student
Eden Haiku: Good for him, but it must be sad to witness...
Riddle Sideways: yes. Yet, there is the witnessing the Others around him
Eden Haiku: Yes
Riddle Sideways: and their hand-wringing
Riddle Sideways: the mood swings of his wife
Eden Haiku: Feeling so powerless
Eden Haiku: Hard for his wife for sure...
Eden Haiku: My mother-in-law started taking morphine pills, a baby dose, but still...
Eden Haiku: She's 92... and we worry she will have to take that till the end of her life.
Eden Haiku: She's still living in her apartment in a home and has lots of help and a social life but the doctor detected a growing mass...
Eden Haiku: Impermanence
Riddle Sideways: yes
Riddle Sideways: and the affects it has on Others
Riddle Sideways: usually looking at the impermanence of the sick person
Riddle Sideways: but, all those others attending that person
Eden Haiku: it reminds us of our own impermanence though
Eden Haiku: yes, the people around the sick ones are always very affected
Eden Haiku: Hope your friend feels better Riddle. Is he a close friend?
Riddle Sideways: pretty close. played music, raised kids, celebrated holidays
--BELL--
Eden Haiku: Oh yes, a long-term friendship, so many memories together...
Riddle Sideways: a son wondering how he and his new wife can do their NY jobs from Cal to be here
Riddle Sideways: the other son, saying that he should have gone to med school instead of law to help his dad
Eden Haiku: How nice of them... a man your son have known for all his life I suppose. It feels important to be near his father and his friend.
Riddle Sideways: his son
Eden Haiku: oh you meant his sons, sorry, I imisunderstood
Riddle Sideways: a couple of years ago, he spent a lot of time with a mutual music friend that was dying of cancer
Eden Haiku: Nice
Riddle Sideways: and so many are trying to be there now for him
Eden Haiku: That's wonderful
Riddle Sideways: yet, he has been ready for death a couple times already
Eden Haiku: 6th cancer you said?
Riddle Sideways: 4th cancer in 6 years
Eden Haiku: Oh yes, a terrible ordeal...
Riddle Sideways: and different places in his body
Eden Haiku: Metastasing probably
Riddle Sideways: he like knows that place, mindset, space
Eden Haiku: He's been preparing his death but still...
Riddle Sideways: but still, the others around him are not ready
Eden Haiku: remembers her father "bracing" to face his death, months before doctors found out what he had
Eden Haiku: Must be hard for the wife and the sons yes.
Eden Haiku: They will need your support
Riddle Sideways: and another friend, who had been very sick and not mentally there for a year or more, died last week
Riddle Sideways: he had married his nurse several years before
Eden Haiku: oh, Riddle, that's a lot...
Riddle Sideways: she finally brought in a hospital bed for him to stay at home
Riddle Sideways: and he was put in it. something made him decide it was the end
Eden Haiku: My father decided to go two days before the hospital bed was going to be brought in by the nurse...
Riddle Sideways: there are others that seem to stay barely alive until their great grand child is brought to see them
Eden Haiku: Yes, everyone has personal ways of handling their death. I realize I want my own death in a far-away future... But who knows?
Eden Haiku: What about you Riddle, do you feel ready to even envision your own mortality?
Riddle Sideways: yes! the plan to drive off a mountain road at 111 years old
--BELL--
Eden Haiku: Beautiful! Will you give me a lift?
Eden Haiku: onigokko
Riddle Sideways: or shot by a jealous husband at 114
Riddle Sideways: Joy
Eden Haiku: stop
Eden Haiku: onigokko
Riddle Sideways: there
Riddle Sideways: always gives a smile
Eden Haiku: A jealous husband at 114 that's a niceone too!!
Eden Haiku: Dancing makes us so happy doesn't it?
Riddle Sideways: yes
Eden Haiku: stop
Riddle Sideways: (need to check) hope you heeded the advice that you should NOT listen to the MOTH
Eden Haiku: Was a street fair in my neigborhood yesterday. A cafe had a singer playing old songs and people were dancing. We joined for a while my companion and I and it wasw so much fun!
Eden Haiku: I did listen to one of the stories but I wasn't thrilled. Will try again.
Riddle Sideways: ah, young love dancing
Eden Haiku: I love listening to podcasts as I walk
Eden Haiku: Well, not exactly young love :)
Riddle Sideways: careful, they are addicting when they get you
Eden Haiku: smiles
Eden Haiku: I wanted to get addicted
Riddle Sideways: Adams said something weeks/months ago
Eden Haiku: But I guess some stories are better than others
Riddle Sideways: yes
Eden Haiku: What did Adams say?
Riddle Sideways: about remembering to be so grateful for those around us that love us
Riddle Sideways: that we share life with
Eden Haiku: Oh that is so true.
Eden Haiku: I do have this gratefulness
Eden Haiku: And I do tell him
Eden Haiku: And buy him flowers :)
Riddle Sideways: it is hard, during the moments and daily little things
Eden Haiku: Give him hugs
Riddle Sideways: GREAT
Eden Haiku: And thank him for listening to me
Riddle Sideways: so great
Eden Haiku: And I'm grateful to YOU Riddle, for being here on Monday mornings, sharing thoughts and feelings, stories
Eden Haiku: Links and typos :)))
Riddle Sideways: ah so love typos
Eden Haiku: You made me love them. As a former teacher I was a little on my high horses about typos
before
Eden Haiku: now I make them with joy myself
Riddle Sideways: oh Great
Riddle Sideways: Joy and laughter
Eden Haiku: typos do bring joys and windows into words and other realities as well, unexpected twists and turns
Riddle Sideways: oh look! what this brain did this time
Eden Haiku: yep!
Eden Haiku: and fingers on typepads doing their own thing
Riddle Sideways: yes, have that now too
Eden Haiku: Stretching and looking at the time
Eden Haiku: typoeing awayà
Riddle Sideways: Well, today's recycling and garbage is larger than usual. Need to sneak some into the neaghbor's cans
Eden Haiku: Sneaky Riddle :)
Riddle Sideways: and still starter stuff for next week
--BELL--
Eden Haiku: Wishing you a great day. Hope everything goes well with your friend and his family, whatever they have to go through...
Riddle Sideways: oh! probably not here next Monday
Eden Haiku: have a wonderful day and a great week Riddle., Ah ok, no problem Riddle.
Riddle Sideways: going to a festival and maybe not home until late Monday
Riddle Sideways: and you pack, nails, and CCs
Riddle Sideways: a nice fun day
Riddle Sideways: enjoy it
Riddle Sideways: sorry beel
Eden Haiku: A festival where you are playing? Have fun! Oh, I will be here. Maybe missing on July 1st though, if it's a Monday.
