    Qt Core: Hi Wol
    Wol Euler: buongiorno qt
Wol Euler: I was thinking how sometimes one can see clear signs of change and progress in one's life
Wol Euler: for example, my enjoyment of Van Morrison's early music
Wol Euler: listening to Veedon Fleece at the moment, and loving it dearly
Qt Core: it is good... if it is progress
Wol Euler: now, this was around during my childhood and youth, but I never heard it, never listened to him
Qt Core: (i think i've heard the name, but nothing more)
Wol Euler: because I knew that it was "folk music" and that meant taht it was bad.
    Wol Euler: bah.
Wol Euler: (bah to myself, not to you)

Qt Core: bah to prejudice ?
Wol Euler: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0ktFazAcG0 <<-- the whole album
    Wol Euler: indeed
    Wol Euler: and to self-limitation!
Wol Euler: one laughs at kids saying "I don't like [this kind of food]" BEFORE they taste it, but I was doing the same!
Wol Euler: I suppose now that what I meant was "I am not the kind of person who would like that music, because they are different from us"
Wol Euler: music as badge of membership
Qt Core: try everything, once, then maybe never again
Wol Euler: that's what I would say now, yes :)

    --BELL--

Qt Core: or maybe another time in a few years
    Wol Euler nods.
    Wol Euler: exactly so
Wol Euler: it's the same with food, too
Wol Euler: I hated spinach as a kid, but I enjoy it now
Wol Euler: (though in that case I hated my mother's way of cooking it)
Qt Core: i shifted my hate for artichokes to simple distatse, i may even like them in a few decades
    Wol Euler chuckles.
    Wol Euler: right.
Qt Core: and hone may even hope to start not to like ice creams and chocolate too
    Qt Core: *one
Wol Euler: yes, it can go both ways :)
Qt Core: i'm fighting some friends that keep asking me to drink coffee, that i have to become accustomed to it... as if the doctor said to drink it
    Wol Euler: ha
Qt Core: and wine and beer too
    Wol Euler raises an eyebrow.
Wol Euler: do you dislike wine?
Qt Core: yes, i like very few, mostly moscato, so i never drink wine while eating, while i have no problem with cooking with wine
    Wol Euler: good
Qt Core: no moral implications ;-)
Wol Euler: I was afraid I'd have to question your Italianismo again, if you disliked wine too
    Wol Euler grins.
Qt Core: yes, no coffee, no wine, not crazy about football, i know, i risk my citizenship
    Wol Euler laughs.
Wol Euler: that would be like a German claiming to be a vegetarian. Unthinkable!
Qt Core: and not liking potatoes
    Wol Euler: right
Wol Euler: food in Germany means "bits of pig", and because eating pigs is boring they decorate the plate with vegetables and starches
Wol Euler: my sister and BIL are vegetarians, they really struggled to find something to eat when they visited me here
Qt Core: :-) i just read about students of cooking school asking for courses for vegan cooks that don't want to cook dead animals
    Wol Euler nods.
Qt Core: (good luck finding a job after school then, even as a vegan dishwasher)
    Wol Euler: yep
Qt Core: speaking about vegan food, tryed some soy hamburger lately (years after the last try), they still taste like cardboard.
    Wol Euler nods.

    --BELL--

Qt Core: and i still find ironic, trying to replicate meat food with non meat
Qt Core: there is a word for that falsehood, can't find it even in italian...
Qt Core: it is in the "double standard" concept area
    Wol Euler nods.
Wol Euler: well, either that or perhaps being realistic about one's chances of getting others to eat the stuff :)
Wol Euler: I remember a little incident from when my sister's kids were little
Wol Euler: they too were vegetarians, of course
Wol Euler: and there was a school picnic with hotdogs, which the other kids ate
Wol Euler: W and J stood together sadly and hungrily, their little lips quivering
Wol Euler: so Sis called the school
Wol Euler: and found out that they were tofu hotdogs! which the kids like
Wol Euler: but if the teacher had said that the other children would not have eaten them
    Qt Core: :-)
    Wol Euler chuckles.

Qt Core: i have to try tofu again, cooked this time, i tried it once as it is, no flavor at all, just a useless protein source
Wol Euler: yes, it needs sauce
Qt Core: i call it "protein unit" reminding me about the "carbon unit" from the first star trek movie
    Wol Euler: heheheh
Wol Euler: but to be honest, how much flavour of chicken is there in a Chicken Tika Masala, for example?
Qt Core: most recipe with sauces and spices cover (or may be adjusted to cover) the main meat ingredient
    Wol Euler: yep
Wol Euler: or indeed the tofu!
Qt Core: listening to the Van Morrison link, good music, don't know i associated the name to more "violent" music is there only one Van Morrison around ?
    Wol Euler: heheh

    --BELL--

Qt Core: i usually end up listening to energetic music or whatever the radio plays, when i choose the music is to go to the gym or to wake me while driving to work, so energetic
Wol Euler: like many artists who have been active for a long time, he's worked in many styles
    Wol Euler nods.
Qt Core: sometimes listening to music i really like is too distracting ;-)
Qt Core: (especially the few songs that can me (almost) cry)
Wol Euler: awww, only a few, and only almost?
    Wol Euler smiles.
    Qt Core: as a male i can't [admit that i] cry ;-)
    Wol Euler: awwwww
    Wol Euler: but true
Wol Euler: perhaps another generation will have it easier

Wol Euler: one of the signal images of Lady Diana's funeral was of a watcher, at the front line of the crowd on some street
Wol Euler: a huge and dangerous-looking punk
Wol Euler: tattoed face, sloping shouders, biceps as thick as your thigh, no visible neck, scars
    Wol Euler: the whole monty
Wol Euler: standing there with his mouth open, tears rolling down his face, literally dripping off his chin
Qt Core: the softer the core the harder has to be the shell
Wol Euler: and you knew that none of his friends would shame him for it, on the contrary
    Wol Euler: true

Qt Core: i only find weird (and to a degree make me angry) the things that could move me so, like a song can make what my father death could not
    Wol Euler listens.
Qt Core: i remember shedding two, i counted it two tears when my father died, but there are songs that,, if i listen while driving i almost have to stop driving as i can't see clearly anymore
    Wol Euler nods.
Wol Euler gives your hand a squeeze.
Qt Core: as it seems there are things of that time i forgotten i almost hope some crying was between them

    Qt Core: :-)

    --BELL--

Qt Core: first time i remember crying for a movie... it was a little (ok not so little) monster that could not go back to his home in an Ultraman (or something like that) episode
Qt Core: who know that still look at me strangely ;-)
    Wol Euler smiles.
Wol Euler: I've always been built "close to the water" as the English say, and it's increasing as I get older
Qt Core: i still can't get the woman idea "it was a good movie, i cried so much!"
Wol Euler: catharsis :) release of tension
Qt Core: the male version are action violent movie then ;-)
Wol Euler: sadly, that is true
Qt Core: i relaxed a lot with the Kenshiro anime while younger (some of the most violent thing i've ever seen)
Wol Euler: hmmm, I missed out on anime, it came too late for me
Wol Euler: I suppose I could catch up ...
Qt Core: it could become addicting
Wol Euler: well there are so many addictions
Qt Core: yes, and there are worse ones

Wol Euler: there was a recent TED talk which I can't find at the moment, a woman talking about how she became addicted to walking (long distances, many miles per day) through one of these smart pedometer apps
    Qt Core: !
    Wol Euler: yep
Wol Euler: she made a very good case for the app being deliberately designed to be addictive
Qt Core: Kenshiro first series intro: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VjHeTGtEgpg
    Wol Euler looks
Qt Core: in english is best knowsn as "Hokuto no ken" or "Fist of the North star"
Wol Euler: oh dear, that music! heheheh
Qt Core: and yes, his look is inspired to Sylvester Stallone

    --BELL--

Wol Euler: that does look quite nastily violent, yes
Wol Euler: ah, qt, I'm afraid I have to move on
Qt Core: yes, people exploding after a fist or being cut down
Wol Euler: I still need to shower and etc, before my haircut this afternoon
    Qt Core: ohh, 11:32
Wol Euler: I wish you a lovely weekend, with peace and food and good music
Qt Core: and i have to buy/cook lunch
    Qt Core: :-) ty
    Wol Euler: take care
    Qt Core: bye
