Agatha Macbeth: Evening all
Catrinamonblue Resident: Hi Bruce, Aggers :)
Bruce Mowbray: Evening, aggers, Cat, Storm!
Agatha Macbeth: Hail Storm :)
Catrinamonblue Resident: Hi Storm :)
Storm Nordwind: Greetings
Agatha Macbeth: So good to see you again
Catrinamonblue Resident: Eliza sent an email with her apologies that she will be unable to make it today
Agatha Macbeth: Aww
Storm Nordwind: yes I just saw it
Agatha Macbeth: Hope she's okay
Bruce Mowbray: Oh, sorry to hear that. I ope she's all right.
Agatha Macbeth: Move up Brucie, I just had a bath :p
Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Agatha Macbeth: Yay
Bruce Mowbray: :))
Bruce Mowbray: (but how do you know if I did?!)
Bruce Mowbray: ha ha
Agatha Macbeth: Well we know Blub has at least
Bruce Mowbray: yeppers.
Bruce Mowbray: Blub is the fish version of soap... always washing itself.
Agatha Macbeth: Bit more of a crowd than you're used to Stormy?
Storm Nordwind smiles
Storm Nordwind: Definitely many times more
Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Agatha Macbeth: Did nobody come to the 7AM at all?
ElanVitalo Resident: 's current display-name is "ElanVitalo".
Storm Nordwind: I saw Adams once in the summer. Riddle came once or twice. But it has faded.
Agatha Macbeth sighs
Storm Nordwind: Perhaps I am not the most exciting host! ;-)
Agatha Macbeth: Yaku and Zen were always there at one time
Storm Nordwind: And I used to host this session... perhaps 5 years ago
Storm Nordwind: Then I swapped with Lia
ElanVitalo Resident: Good evening, everyone.
Agatha Macbeth: Yes I remember vaguely
Agatha Macbeth: Hello Mr Robot
Catrinamonblue Resident: Hi Elan
Bruce Mowbray: Hello, Elan.
Storm Nordwind: Hey
Agatha Macbeth: Pity Liz couldn't be here tho
Agatha Macbeth: Ah well
Storm Nordwind: I'm sure she wants to be. Part of why she invited me was to cover for her on occasions like this
Agatha Macbeth: And Wollie never seems to come on Thursday any more either
Agatha Macbeth: Must be killing orcs
Storm Nordwind: Oh?
Agatha Macbeth: Yeh she's adept at it I believe
Agatha Macbeth: Big WoWer
Storm Nordwind: I see.
Agatha Macbeth: Dunno if Gandalf ever gets involved
Storm Nordwind: I didn't know WoW was still popular. I thought kids went for other things nowadays
ElanVitalo Resident: Homework?
Agatha Macbeth: Apparently it has more customers than SL :p
Agatha Macbeth: Osiyo K
Korel Laloix: Osiyo.... smiles
Catrinamonblue Resident: Hi Kori :)
Bruce Mowbray: Heya, Kori!
Storm Nordwind: I think everything has more customers than SL now.
ElanVitalo Resident: Hello, Korel.
Korel Laloix: Heya
Agatha Macbeth: Woolworths doesn't
Storm Nordwind: Ah... the hallowed corridors of Woolies...
Agatha Macbeth: Yeh
Agatha Macbeth: Who'd have thought it would ever shut down eh?
Storm Nordwind: Has it? I'm a little out of touch.
Korel Laloix looks up Woolworths
Agatha Macbeth: Yes, about four years ago
Storm Nordwind: Sic transit gloria mundi
Agatha Macbeth: Didn't change with the times I guess
Agatha Macbeth: Nice jumper btw Cat
Catrinamonblue Resident: :) ty
Agatha Macbeth: Did you just have an election over there or something?
Storm Nordwind: We did, yes
ElanVitalo Resident: nods.
Agatha Macbeth: Not that it matters much...no difference between em
Agatha Macbeth: Same as here
--BELL--
Storm Nordwind: It makes a difference to those who run the media, when billions of dollars come their way in negative propaganda. And people do vote on issues and strategic policies, not just for people.
Agatha Macbeth: Ah
Storm Nordwind: But I am a little skeptical of any process that elects leaders, rather than appointing servants.
Agatha Macbeth: Hmm
Agatha Macbeth: Wonder if the Chinese have elections
Agatha Macbeth: (Bad joke)
Agatha Macbeth pokes Bruce to see if he's still awake
Korel Laloix: It is actually getting to be a depressing subject for my generation.
Agatha Macbeth: Elections?
Korel Laloix: Yes.
Agatha Macbeth: Pretty depressing subject for any generation I think
Korel Laloix: But we still blame Clinton Bush and Obama on you all... smiles
Agatha Macbeth: Look who the Germans voted for in 1933 for instance
Agatha Macbeth: Ooops
Korel Laloix looks up German elections in 1933... I can guess, but want to make sure.
Agatha Macbeth hits K with a cushion
Korel Laloix: I really know nothing of European history.
Agatha Macbeth: Oh that's easy...just sail around the world grabbing other peoples' land off them
Korel Laloix: Not relevant to me ethnically, so I have a hard time caring.
Korel Laloix: <--- realized her poor attitude...
Storm Nordwind: I am learning American history, such as I can.
Korel Laloix: Didn't the Mongolians do the same thing on horseback?
Agatha Macbeth: Well only 200 years to look at
Agatha Macbeth: Yep, did it well too
Falze1 Resident: 's current display-name is "Falze One".
Storm Nordwind: Rather more than that. But they have packed a lot in,
Korel Laloix: And my Comanche ancestors did the same across about a 5th or North America.
Falze1 Resident: hello, there are people here now
Falze1 Resident: may I join you
Agatha Macbeth looks round
Korel Laloix: Osiyo
Bruce Mowbray: Hello, Falze.
Korel Laloix: Please
Catrinamonblue Resident: Hello Falze
Agatha Macbeth: Hello o mystic one
Falze1 Resident: I have been coming the last couple days and nobody is here
Agatha Macbeth: Wow, that's dedication
Falze1 Resident: the note card said 4 times a day
Agatha Macbeth: Many people who know it's here don't come :p
Agatha Macbeth: Edie! :)
Agatha Macbeth: Long time no see
Falze1 Resident: but, please continue what you all were talking
Agatha Macbeth: We're over here (waves)
Storm Nordwind: Hello Eden!
Bruce Mowbray: Hello, Egen.
Catrinamonblue Resident: Hi Eden :)
Bruce Mowbray: Eden, sry.
Korel Laloix: wow.. a crowd today.
Eden Haiku: Hi everyone :-)
Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Agatha Macbeth: We came just for you ;-)
Korel Laloix smiles
Korel Laloix: Sooooo.
Storm Nordwind: We are Eden's audience :)
Eden Haiku: Hehe ;-) Sorry I'm late. Just got home.
Korel Laloix: If I was going to read one book on European history.. can anyone make a suggestion?
Eden Haiku: What were you talking about?
Korel Laloix: My complete lack of knowledge of European History.
--BELL--
Storm Nordwind does not recommend reading a single book on anyone's history. Exploring tangentially is often much more fun. And more sustainable.
Korel Laloix: But I am admittedly not going to spend much time on it...
Agatha Macbeth: It's pretty depressing anyway
Storm Nordwind: Indeed. And a book would probably deter you anyway.
Korel Laloix: I will dig arounda bit... something I do need to learn.
Korel Laloix: I like books.
Agatha Macbeth: Me too
Agatha Macbeth: They have a tendancy to invade me
Storm Nordwind: When you read a book, you read someone else's agenda, very often.
Korel Laloix: I think all history in isoloation would be depressing.
Korel Laloix: But I think we are moving along in a positive direction on average.
Korel Laloix: But I am an optimist.... smiles
Catrinamonblue Resident: I can recommend a series of historical fiction if you want to learn about 1740's Scotland :) the first book id called Outlander and is now a tv series too
Agatha Macbeth: Och aye
Korel Laloix: I will write that down.
Falze1 Resident: which victors history rewrite would be best
Bruce Mowbray: Scotland's so-called history is a massive labyrinth.
Storm Nordwind: I have been learning history by taking groups of people on virtual tours of various parts of the US.
Korel Laloix: I do like some Scotch... smiles... maybe will help the pages go by...
Falze1 Resident: all those wars
Agatha Macbeth: Does it have a minotaur?
Bruce Mowbray: o-u-c-h. . . .
Catrinamonblue Resident: http://www.dianagabaldon.com/
Korel Laloix looks up minotaur.
Agatha Macbeth: W-h-a-t?
Catrinamonblue Resident: the authors web site :)
ElanVitalo Resident looks up Korel.
Agatha Macbeth looks up at the sky
Falze1 Resident: a lot of up looking
Catrinamonblue Resident: whistles a tune
Korel Laloix: a creature with the head of a bull on the body of a man[3] or, as described by Roman poet Ovid, "part man and part bull"
Agatha Macbeth: How are you Edie?
Bruce Mowbray: c chimera, then.
Korel Laloix: I spend a lot of time looking up things.... smiles
Bruce Mowbray: a chimera, then*
Bruce Mowbray: A chimera is a composite of two species..
Bruce Mowbray: like human and horse.
Korel Laloix looks up Ovid
Bruce Mowbray: or human and bull.
Agatha Macbeth: A centaur
Storm Nordwind: or oxy and moron? ;)
Falze1 Resident: trust a poet to give the simple answer
Catrinamonblue Resident: lol
Bruce Mowbray: ha ha!
Agatha Macbeth: I'll take the oxy
Agatha Macbeth: Or the Boxy
Bruce Mowbray: A Roman poet. who wrote the Aeneid , to be more precise.
Agatha Macbeth: Not Blyton
Korel Laloix: That could be an interesting read.
Storm Nordwind had to read Virgil at school
Bruce Mowbray: me too, Storm.
Agatha Macbeth: Not Scott or Alan? :p
Bruce Mowbray: Third year Latin.
Korel Laloix looks up VIrgil
Eden Haiku: Good Agatha, The new chat window makes it difficult to follow. trying to figure out the settings. I'm SL rusted...
Agatha Macbeth: Oh, which viewer?
Korel Laloix: More like broken...
Falze1 Resident: rusted :)
Eden Haiku: Viewer 2:widened it it now. It's better.
Agatha Macbeth: (If it's confusing I'd guess the Linden one)
Agatha Macbeth: Yeh, thought so
Agatha Macbeth: Try Firestorm, you'll find it so much easier
ElanVitalo Resident: (Just discovered I could "fix" the chat window in SL viewer...
Bruce Mowbray: SOOOOO much easier, yes.
Eden Haiku: Oh, yes. I remember downloading it recently, the firestorm. Let me look...
Aphrodite Macbain: 's current display-name is "Aph".
Agatha Macbeth: Yay Aphie :)
Agatha Macbeth: Good day my lady
Aphrodite Macbain: Hiii
ElanVitalo Resident: Hello, Aphrodite.
Aphrodite Macbain: G'day
Falze1 Resident: hello
Storm Nordwind: Hey Aph!
Catrinamonblue Resident: Hi Aph :)
Korel Laloix: Osiyo
Bruce Mowbray: Good evenin', Aph!
Aphrodite Macbain: What a great bunch of avis!
Korel Laloix: I think this is the largest regular session I have seen.
Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
ElanVitalo Resident looks up "avis."
Agatha Macbeth: Stormy and Eden are pulling em in
Falze1 Resident: avatars?
Aphrodite Macbain: Hi Storm, Eden. Really good to see you both. It's been ages
Storm Nordwind defers to Eden's attraction
ElanVitalo Resident: ty, yes, avatars, of course.
Agatha Macbeth: Maybe we could get some other old friends back
Eden Haiku: hello Aphrodi-
Storm Nordwind: I've been here. Just 6 hours earlier for a few years.
Agatha Macbeth: te
Bruce Mowbray: Too bad that Eliza couldn't make it.
Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Aphrodite Macbain: Oh dear. Is she OK?
Bruce Mowbray: We are not sure.
Aphrodite Macbain: she would definitely have come if she could
Agatha Macbeth: Isn't 7AM pretty early there Storm?
Bruce Mowbray: Liz sent out an email saying she couldn't be here today....
Aphrodite Macbain: this is 1 pm
Storm Nordwind: Aggers, 7am SLT is 8am mountain time, here
Aphrodite Macbain: 4 pm her time
Bruce Mowbray: SL time: 1:44 p.m. to be exact.
Agatha Macbeth: Yeh
Bruce Mowbray: DROP coming in 15 secs.
Agatha Macbeth: So not so tired now
Aphrodite Macbain: What have you been discussing?
--BELL--
Catrinamonblue Resident: Liz and I are in the same time zone :) this time works best for me though I'm not able to come very much :)
Agatha Macbeth: Mainly about Korel looking things up Aph :p
Korel Laloix smiles
Agatha Macbeth: She's a great little looker-upper
Aphrodite Macbain: Then may I raise a subject?
Bruce Mowbray nods and listens.
Korel Laloix: I am good at that.. remembering what I look up is a different matter.
Catrinamonblue Resident: listens
Agatha Macbeth: Sure
ElanVitalo Resident also listens.
Aphrodite Macbain: The idea ofputting on a play/poetry reading/dance performance
Korel Laloix: Please
Agatha Macbeth: Here?
Aphrodite Macbain: playing as being :-)
Korel Laloix: Sure.. Bruce will dance for us.
ElanVitalo Resident: ha ha ha!
Aphrodite Macbain: In the molecule theatre
Bruce Mowbray: Hey! I take offense at that, Elan!
Aphrodite Macbain: Storm has agreed to advise.
Korel Laloix smiles
Agatha Macbeth: Sounds good
Bruce Mowbray: Aph and I are GREAT dancers.
Aphrodite Macbain: Bruce and Kori have shown interest.
ElanVitalo Resident: Oh, my apologies.
Aphrodite Macbain: and Wol said he would help with scripting and building
Agatha Macbeth: Yay
Agatha Macbeth: WB Edie
Aphrodite Macbain: Agger- you have often expressed an interest in resurrecting this
Agatha Macbeth: Good idea, I'd like to see the theatre get used again
Agatha Macbeth nods
Aphrodite Macbain: and Eden is here - she can provide fine poetry
Agatha Macbeth: Indeed!
Agatha Macbeth: I remember Isis and the chair well
Bruce Mowbray: Let us not let our MOLECULE go to waste!
Bruce Mowbray: Hear hear!
Agatha Macbeth: Right
Bruce Mowbray:
Aphrodite Macbain: and I know that certain people here can play the piano
Eden Haiku: Isis and the chair, a long time ago :) You have a new project Aph?
Bruce Mowbray: Ari is wonderful at the piano.
Bruce Mowbray: He gave me a provate concert a few days ago.
Aphrodite Macbain: I am proposing doing something for our anniversary next April
Bruce Mowbray: prinate*
Bruce Mowbray: private*
Eden Haiku: It,s much easier in Firestorm, thanks Agatha...
Aphrodite Macbain: got it Bruce
Agatha Macbeth: Yes I heard he's quite a performer
Agatha Macbeth: YW :)
Bruce Mowbray: (takes note that the viewer upgrades can't spell any better than the older versions).
Aphrodite Macbain: It doesn't need to be a single monolithic performance
Aphrodite Macbain: It could be a series of things
Agatha Macbeth ponders a monolithic performance
Bruce Mowbray: Sveral small plays -- like the last time?
Eden Haiku: Oh, I see. Far enough to organize things,
Aphrodite Macbain: Yes- 5-ish months
Bruce Mowbray: or maybe individual performances, like Ed Sullivan.
Bruce Mowbray: (Look that up, Kori.)
Aphrodite Macbain: a variety show
Agatha Macbeth: Baseball player?
Korel Laloix: I know who that is... smiles
Agatha Macbeth: Oh
Bruce Mowbray: HA HA!
Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Bruce Mowbray: Gilbert and . . . .
Korel Laloix: Not sure why though.
Storm Nordwind: Oe Eddie Izzard perhaps?
Agatha Macbeth chokes on her tea
Korel Laloix looks up...
Eden Haiku: Must be something British Korel...
Aphrodite Macbain wonders whether Korel and Elan are sharing a dictionary
Agatha Macbeth: So when would this happen? (hypothetically)
Bruce Mowbray: How about Aph's suggestion?
Aphrodite Macbain: Aptril 1- our anniversary Aggers
Aphrodite Macbain: or thereabouts
Agatha Macbeth: Oh great
Falze1 Resident: this is hard to follow, but you would play as Being in a play?
Aphrodite Macbain: gives us 5 months
Agatha Macbeth: Sounds good
Bruce Mowbray: I am IN, Aph. . . any others?
Aphrodite Macbain: good question Falzel
ElanVitalo Resident: I would like to see how humans make these things, so I am also, how do you say it? IN?
Agatha Macbeth: Well I'm not sure what I'd do, but I'll have a bash
Aphrodite Macbain: we would have to define that in performance terms
ElanVitalo Resident: Hmmmm.
Aphrodite Macbain: Yayyy Aggers
Aphrodite Macbain: Storm- any words of advice to the group?
Agatha Macbeth: Maybe belly dance or something
Aphrodite Macbain: why not. Can u belly dance?
Agatha Macbeth: I can learn
Aphrodite Macbain: :-)
ElanVitalo Resident: :)
Korel Laloix: I will see if there are some good FA dance animations.
Aphrodite Macbain: I am sure there are belly dance animations out there
Agatha Macbeth: Sure to be
Bruce Mowbray: Looks up "FA"
Falze1 Resident: FA?
Storm Nordwind: Advice? Only what we already discussed.
Aphrodite Macbain: Eden- would you be able to write and read a poem?
Korel Laloix: First American.. sorry.. smiles
Agatha Macbeth: Football Association?
Bruce Mowbray: TY!
Falze1 Resident: ty
Agatha Macbeth: Ah
Agatha Macbeth: Who was the first American?
Aphrodite Macbain: It may bear repeating storm
Aphrodite Macbain: DAve Crockett
Eden Haiku: Sure Aph. I'm just not sure if I will be home by April 1st. I might still be in France,
Storm Nordwind: Shall I copy Aph, to the people here, from the email I sent you
Storm Nordwind: ?
Agatha Macbeth: Sacré bleu!
Aphrodite Macbain: Can you get into second life from France?
Bruce Mowbray: Cordon bleu.
Aphrodite Macbain: Thanks Storm. I can do that too
Agatha Macbeth: I'm sure the reception at the top of the Eiffel Tower must be good
Bruce Mowbray: Of course you can, I would HOPE!
Agatha Macbeth: Don't meet many French prople in SL oddly
Bruce Mowbray: My typist ate dinner in thew Tour Eifel his first night in Europe, actually.
Eden Haiku: Im taking only an iPad and unless it improved, it's only text.
Aphrodite Macbain: ah.
Bruce Mowbray: Adoro is from France, I think.
Aphrodite Macbain: well if u cant make it, maybe someone else can read it for you
Agatha Macbeth: I remember coming here from India on a mushroom
Agatha Macbeth: you*
Eden Haiku: Yes, I could do that Aph.
--BELL--
Bruce Mowbray: and WHAT a mushroom that one was!
Aphrodite Macbain: Wonderful Eden!
Aphrodite Macbain: Cat- how about you? You write fine poetry
Aphrodite Macbain: oops
Catrinamonblue Resident: :) I was thinking about it I would like to
Eden Haiku: Great Cat!
Eden Haiku: Oups...
Aphrodite Macbain: BTW; here are Storm's wise words to me: So I will start the advice immediately. Your troupe must understand that the production process in Second Life is very lengthy and involved, out of all proportion to the duration of any performances. It takes discipline, or obsession, or very often both. Moreover it will be fraught with failures and disappointments. Success is not guaranteed, nor is it even likely. It is therefore especially important to understand that you do it for the journey alone and not for the destination. Managing one's expectations, and the expectations of everyone involved, is essential.
Agatha Macbeth: I'm way better at obsession than discipline
Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Aphrodite Macbain: Please let me know Cat. :-)
ElanVitalo Resident: (sounds a lot like LIFE, the way Storm puts it.)
Aphrodite Macbain: nods
Aphrodite Macbain: It's important to be realistic
Agatha Macbeth: But difficult
Aphrodite Macbain: I am hoping that 5 months wil give us time to make mistakes
Falze1 Resident: seems about right for any performances I've been through
Catrinamonblue Resident: I will Aph, I wish I could help in a performance bit I know I can't make the time commitment necessary for rehearsals
Storm Nordwind: An additional suggestion would be that if you are shooting for April 1st, right now is the very latest you need to start work on it.
Aphrodite Macbain: thanks Cat
Aphrodite Macbain: Yes
Aphrodite Macbain: I was going to put out an email asking who would be interested - to wither perform and/or to organize, build, script etc
Storm Nordwind: If you leave it till January, my guess is that either it will not happen, or that you will be disappointed with the results.
Agatha Macbeth: Good idea
Aphrodite Macbain: whether
Aphrodite Macbain: Yes
Catrinamonblue Resident: Aph the organizer :)
Aphrodite Macbain: I'll try and organize a meeting of interested souls in a few weeks
Eden Haiku: It was nice being with you. I have to leave now. Will be reading your email Aph.
Aphrodite Macbain: Bye Eden
Korel Laloix: Ciao
Catrinamonblue Resident: Bye Eden :)
Storm Nordwind: Wonderful to see you again!
Agatha Macbeth: Take care Edie, so good to see you
Aphrodite Macbain: Ciao bella
Agatha Macbeth: A bientot
Aphrodite Macbain: I would much prefer to perform than organize but I feel that if I dont organize it, it may not happen. I would love to have a co-organizer
Agatha Macbeth: BTW Aph happy birthday to us for last week
Aphrodite Macbain: thank you!
Aphrodite Macbain: I am old now
Agatha Macbeth grins
Korel Laloix: HBD
Catrinamonblue Resident: only as old as you feel :)
Agatha Macbeth: Or who you feel
Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Aphrodite Macbain: well- actually I feel qquite sprightly
Agatha Macbeth watches Aph bounce around
Aphrodite Macbain dances a jig
Agatha Macbeth: Bouncy bouncy bouncy fun fun fun!
Aphrodite Macbain: Falzel- are you interested in performing?
Falze1 Resident: have never done SL performing
Falze1 Resident: would have to study how
Aphrodite Macbain: here's your chance!
Falze1 Resident: oh dear ... pressure
Aphrodite Macbain: no pressure
Aphrodite Macbain: we are PLAYING as being
Falze1 Resident: that is what it seems
Aphrodite Macbain: We came up with some good ideas in my last session on MOnday at 1. Have a read if u like
Korel Laloix: It could be fun.
Falze1 Resident: I started reading through your blogs and now have more to "look up"
Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Aphrodite Macbain: oh? can I help?
Korel Laloix: This place is great for working on your English for sure.
Agatha Macbeth: Things are certainly looking up today
Aphrodite Macbain: smiles
Falze1 Resident: how does one look up in SL viewer
Agatha Macbeth: Hit down on the camera constol :p
Agatha Macbeth: control*
Aphrodite Macbain: :-)
Aphrodite Macbain: what do you want to look up?
Agatha Macbeth: To look up, look down...see, logical no?
Aphrodite Macbain pokes Aggers
Agatha Macbeth giggles
Falze1 Resident: there is a bird and a pineapple up there
Agatha Macbeth: Stormy is going to have a log to post for a change :p
Aphrodite Macbain: I should go.
Agatha Macbeth: Aww
Agatha Macbeth: Me too actually
Aphrodite Macbain: Thanks for your enthusiasm everyone
Storm Nordwind: I've been logging them for years. They're usually just very short with some fool talking to themselves.
--BELL--
Catrinamonblue Resident: Bye Aph :)
Aphrodite Macbain: bye
Korel Laloix: Ciao
Catrinamonblue Resident: Bye Aggers :)
Falze1 Resident: bye
Agatha Macbeth: Au revoir kiddywinks
Agatha Macbeth: Behave yerselves
Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Storm Nordwind: Bye!
Korel Laloix: Why start now?
Storm Nordwind: Indeed.
Falze1 Resident: this was nice, bye
Korel Laloix: That was a nice session. .thanks all.
