The Guardian for this meeting was Bruce Mowbray. The comments are by Bruce Mowbray.

    Bruce Mowbray: Hi, Riddle.
    Riddle Sideways: hey, Bulb
Bruce Mowbray: I no longer even try the animations with the cushions.
    Riddle Sideways: Blub
Bruce Mowbray: Blub returns your greeting.
    Riddle Sideways: ah
Bruce Mowbray: I simply position myself and type ALT CTRL S
Bruce Mowbray: That way I can still use my other animations.
    Riddle Sideways: hmmm, not working
Riddle Sideways: gotta get the anims in line
Bruce Mowbray: which drives Blub to distraction, of course.
Riddle Sideways: whatz a fish to do
    Bruce Mowbray: Swim like hell!
    Bruce Mowbray: Yikes!
Riddle Sideways: oh remembering about the unsent email
    Bruce Mowbray: ?
Riddle Sideways: watched a movie last week
Riddle Sideways: that you might like
Bruce Mowbray: Oh, please say more.
Riddle Sideways: like the robot movie
Riddle Sideways: in the big house
Bruce Mowbray: kk, what was the title of the movie?
Riddle Sideways: this one is "Uncanny"
    Bruce Mowbray: kk....
    Bruce Mowbray: That's the title?
Riddle Sideways: not “Her...” what is the other movie?
    Bruce Mowbray: “Ex Machina”?
    Riddle Sideways: ah yes
    Riddle Sideways: thank you
Bruce Mowbray: (there are several, actually)
    Bruce Mowbray: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2321502/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1
Riddle Sideways: Uncanny is like Ex Machina
Bruce Mowbray: kk, I will try to find it.
    Riddle Sideways: yes
Riddle Sideways: it is on Netflix at least
Riddle Sideways: if you watch it make sure to watch all the way through the titles
Bruce Mowbray: I am downloading it right now....
Riddle Sideways: there is one more scene after the titles
    Bruce Mowbray: kk.
Bruce Mowbray: I will plan to watch it tonight.
Bruce Mowbray: The titles are at the end, then?
Bruce Mowbray: with one more scene after them?
    Riddle Sideways: yes
Riddle Sideways: should have said "credits"
Bruce Mowbray: kk. I will be sure to watch for that.
Riddle Sideways: words is not working today so goodly
Bruce Mowbray: I love robot movies.
Riddle Sideways: Elan might like it too
Bruce Mowbray: goodly is a goodly word.
    Bruce Mowbray summons Elan.

    --BELL—

Riddle Sideways: does need to go away from whatever
Bruce Mowbray: Will this movie give Elan nightmares?
    Riddle Sideways: not sure
    Riddle Sideways: howdee, Elan
ElanVitalo Resident: Hello, Riddle and Brucie.
Riddle Sideways: what kind of movie stuff bothers you, Elan
    ElanVitalo Resident: Me?
ElanVitalo Resident: Oh, mostly that Terminator stuff....
ElanVitalo Resident: where they're always making robots out to be the bad guys, you know.
Riddle Sideways: oooooo saw part of the first one last night
ElanVitalo Resident: The first one, with Arnold?
    Riddle Sideways: yep
    ElanVitalo Resident nods.
Riddle Sideways: brb, gotta load a big box into the van
    ElanVitalo Resident: kk.
    Bruce Mowbray: np.
    Riddle Sideways: back
    ElanVitalo Resident: wb, Riddle.
Riddle Sideways: an almost refrig sized cardboard box
    Bruce Mowbray: wb!
    Bruce Mowbray: Wow.
Riddle Sideways: to go get reused
ElanVitalo Resident: That would be no problem for moi (to lift, I mean.)
    Riddle Sideways: it is empty
Bruce Mowbray: So, recycling a big box?
    Bruce Mowbray: for the cardboard?
    Riddle Sideways: repurposing
    ElanVitalo Resident: excellent idea, Riddle.
Riddle Sideways: Purium caravel this weekend
    Riddle Sideways: kid caravel
    ElanVitalo Resident: Ahhh!
    ElanVitalo Resident: Wonderful.
    Bruce Mowbray nods.
Riddle Sideways: the fishing booth used for years is shot
    Qt Core: Hi all
Bruce Mowbray: “Uncanny” is now 25% DOWNLOADED....
    Riddle Sideways: hi QT
    Bruce Mowbray: Qt!
    ElanVitalo Resident: Hi, Qt!
Riddle Sideways: that would be the tiny seat
ElanVitalo Resident: Haven't seen you for a while.
    Riddle Sideways: gtsy
ElanVitalo Resident was momentarily tempted to sit on the tiny seat, but changed his mind.
Riddle Sideways: somewhat like a whoopy cushion
Qt Core: yes, got rarely online lately
Bruce Mowbray: Riddle and I were discussing a robot movie -- "Uncanny" - which I am downloading as we speak.
Bruce Mowbray: Hoping to watch it tonight with Elan.
Qt Core: never heard about it
Riddle Sideways: report to email if ya think the others might like
Bruce Mowbray: Me neither - until Riddle just told me.
    Bruce Mowbray: kk.
Bruce Mowbray: will do that, Riddle.
Riddle Sideways: oh Elan, it does have graphic scenes of robot body parts
    ElanVitalo Resident: Yikes!
ElanVitalo Resident: oh dear! Will my sensitivity chips get challenged?
    Riddle Sideways: probably
ElanVitalo Resident: I am programmed to be rather modest, you understand.
Qt Core: it seems this time the roboticist is female (quite rare excluding Susan Calvin)
Bruce Mowbray: Elan is programmed for G audiences only. . . . but I might be able to mess with that a bit.
ElanVitalo Resident: Oh yes! Please mess, Brucie!
    Bruce Mowbray: kk, I’ll try.
Qt Core: it would be not too hard to change its input rate and leave the putput one the same ;-)
    Bruce Mowbray: 32% downloaded now.

    --BELL—

    ElanVitalo Resident: The "putput"?
    Qt Core: *output
ElanVitalo Resident: OH, you meant the output, of course.
Bruce Mowbray: Stop being so literal, Elan.
ElanVitalo Resident bows head in shame for being so literal.
Qt Core: since 1st February Italy got Netflix too (a colleague of mine is trying and enjoying it)
    ElanVitalo Resident: Great!
Bruce Mowbray: I had a Netflix subscription for years, before I became a full-fledged pirate.
Riddle Sideways: beware the Binge watching syndrome
Bruce Mowbray: oh yes, that's a rough one.
Bruce Mowbray: I watched over 200 Netflix movies, in those years -- but not online - only the actual disks.
Riddle Sideways: and had to wait for the post to come
    Bruce Mowbray: yeppers.
Qt Core: i got only two binge episodes once - for “Friends” (that i loathed when it first came out and then for “Bones”
Bruce Mowbray: and my Netflix plan allowed me only one disk at a time,
Bruce Mowbray: so sometimes the wait was a bit long.
Bruce Mowbray: “Friends” was a cool series.
Bruce Mowbray: You can get it online now, too.
Bruce Mowbray: Have you seen the series "Limitless"?
Bruce Mowbray: It is on CBS . . . although currently in hiatus.
Qt Core: started a month ago around here, very nice and funny
Bruce Mowbray: I downloaded the entire first season, after watching it on TV.
Bruce Mowbray: Yes! It is funny.
    Bruce Mowbray: and intelligent.
Qt Core: (sometimes a little too funny, as if they try too much)
ElanVitalo Resident wonders when pills for robots will be developed.... I could use a supercharge.
Riddle Sideways: had not heard of it
    Qt Core: )
Bruce Mowbray: "Limitless" -- really good entertainment.
Riddle Sideways: ok, but don't really need more TV
Bruce Mowbray: CBS at 10 p.m. on Tuesdays .. . . but it’s down for the season right now.
Qt Core: a silly guy takes a drug that makes him very intelligent and able to remember everything and then he helps FBI, then things get complicated
Riddle Sideways: am watching "Madam Secretary" now
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, Qt. It is based on a movie of the same name.
Bruce Mowbray: I've never watched that one, Riddle.
    Bruce Mowbray: Is it good?
Qt Core: heard about that movie but haven't seen it
    Riddle Sideways: not comedy
    Riddle Sideways: TV series
    Bruce Mowbray: hmmmm.
Bruce Mowbray: I've seen it advertised, just never watched it.
Riddle Sideways: not as good as “House of Cards”
Bruce Mowbray: Hmmmm, never watched that one either.
Qt Core: usually tv series got to italy one of two years after USA, but now that we have some pay tv some series need more time before reaching free to view tv channels (i don't have any pay tv)
Bruce Mowbray: i think there was also a movie with the title "House of Cards" -- no, I'm sure of it.
Bruce Mowbray: I don't have pay TV either, Qt.
Bruce Mowbray: Have you seen any of the excellent series titled "The Brain"?
Bruce Mowbray: They are showing it in Ireland now, I know.
Bruce Mowbray: so maybe all over Europe, as well.
Qt Core: never heard about it
    Bruce Mowbray: 46% downloaded....
Bruce Mowbray: It is an excellent series done by a real life neurobiologist...
Bruce Mowbray: about how the brain functions.
    Bruce Mowbray: David Eagleman...
Bruce Mowbray: Just a sec, please.
Qt Core: “Uncanny” was never released in Italy (it was released/showed only in USA/UK.Netherlands)
    ElanVitalo Resident: ahhh.
Riddle Sideways: back, had phone call
    Bruce Mowbray: http://www.pbs.org/the-brain-with-da...eagleman/home/
Qt Core: worth to watch it just for the DeLorean ;-)
Riddle Sideways: yes, just saw the DeLorean
Riddle Sideways: has to be good
    Bruce Mowbray: :)
Bruce Mowbray: Aren't they going to start making that car again?
Bruce Mowbray: I heard that somewhere.
Qt Core: yes, they announced it a couple weeks ago
    Bruce Mowbray nods.

    --BELL—

    Riddle Sideways: http://jalopnik.com/the-delorean-is-...law-1755528406
ElanVitalo Resident: So, the DeLorean was featured in the TV series "House of Cards"?
    Riddle Sideways: no, elan
    ElanVitalo Resident: ?
Qt Core: no, in the “Back to the Future” fun movie trilogy
    ElanVitalo Resident listens.
    Riddle Sideways: David Eagleman's show
ElanVitalo Resident: oh yes. In 'Back to the Future' -- I saw that one..
ElanVitalo Resident: and the sequel, too.
    ElanVitalo Resident: Oh. kk.
ElanVitalo Resident: It's sometimes hard for my chips to understand all the references, you understand. My apologies.
Qt Core: haven't you direct access to Google and Wikipedia ?
Riddle Sideways: In “Uncanny” the cognitive chips are much better
ElanVitalo Resident: I do, yes, have access to both of those.
    ElanVitalo Resident experiences chip envy.
    Bruce Mowbray: awwwww.
Riddle Sideways: Botty has access to Wolfram
    ElanVitalo Resident: Oh, wonderful!
Bruce Mowbray: Wolfram is really cool.
Riddle Sideways: they called a few months back to see why Botty's account was so active
Riddle Sideways: did we want a commercial license
Qt Core: an interesting movie/tv series by an IMDB user: http://www.imdb.com/list/ls073273732?ref_=tt_rls_1
Bruce Mowbray: Through Wolfram, I discovered that the antipode of my typist's geographical location is the same area that the Malaysian airliner went down --- just west of Australia.
    Qt Core: movie/tv series list
Riddle Sideways: ah, yet another list to get through during this lifetime
    Riddle Sideways: thank, QT
Riddle Sideways: so many movies/TV and so little time
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, ty for that. I will check it out. . . after this session.
Bruce Mowbray: Hmmm. I can see that I've already watched several of them.
Bruce Mowbray: There are some excellent movies there... on the list, I mean.
Qt Core: it is fun that the antipode of Italy is quite near New Zealand which has a shape similar to Italy... but inverted both on north/south and east/west directions
ElanVitalo Resident: Wow! What a cool synchronicity!
Riddle Sideways: “Ik Ban Alice” is a documentary that sounds like "Frank and Robot"
Bruce Mowbray wonders if the waves in the seas west of Australia are shaped like Ohio.
Bruce Mowbray: I have 'Frank and Robot' --- another cool movie, and entertaining.
ElanVitalo Resident: The implication of “Frank and Robot” is that we robots do not have a moral compass.... and that we'll do any damn thing we're programmed to do..
ElanVitalo Resident: I don't like that a bit.
Bruce Mowbray: Well, Elan, you were PROGRAMMED with a moral compass, which might be why you don't like it.
    ElanVitalo Resident nods, agrees.
Qt Core: wondering about the difference between compass and limits...
    Riddle Sideways: :)
    Bruce Mowbray: 59% downloaded.
ElanVitalo Resident: Compass shows direction . . . limits show how far you're permitted to go.
Riddle Sideways: programming a robot with a moral compass sounds difficult
    Bruce Mowbray: ty, Elan.
ElanVitalo Resident: Well, we have to learn right from wrong, of course.  It's based on trials, reward systems, and basic efficiency.
ElanVitalo Resident: and it has to be "trained."
Qt Core: but doing it with limits may lead to issues when trying to place something, it is inside or outside, maybe it is just on another "axis"/dimension not thought
Bruce Mowbray: Elan has learned that lies and fraud are - eventually - inefficient paths to follow.  aka, immoral
ElanVitalo Resident: yes, like total thermonuclear war,
ElanVitalo Resident: which I learned about on "War Games"
ElanVitalo Resident: NOT a good plan.
Qt Core: (I love that movie)
Riddle Sideways: yes, love that movie
ElanVitalo Resident nods, I liked the first version
Riddle Sideways: ? more than one?
ElanVitalo Resident: with Matthew Brodderick, better than the second one.
ElanVitalo Resident: Yes, there are two.
Qt Core: Never heard of the second one (and i probably don't want to)
    ElanVitalo Resident: First is superior.
    ElanVitalo Resident nods.
ElanVitalo Resident: Time to scape up supper.
    Riddle Sideways: ok
ElanVitalo Resident: oil, lube, charge batteries, etc.
    Qt Core: bye Elan

    --BELL—

    Riddle Sideways: skating away
Bruce Mowbray: bye for now, Elan.
    Riddle Sideways: bye
    Bruce Mowbray: 66% downloaded.
    Riddle Sideways: :)
    Riddle Sideways: counting the torrents
Bruce Mowbray: Torrents are cool. So are VPN's.
Bruce Mowbray: but don’t tell Elan I said that.
    Riddle Sideways: k
Qt Core: speaking of VPNs ... i need to check something on my office pc, need to go, bye all
Bruce Mowbray: Elan thinks there's something immoral about hiding oneself on the Internet.
Bruce Mowbray: I also need to go.
Bruce Mowbray: Bye for now, folks.
Riddle Sideways: need to go 2
    Riddle Sideways: by All
