Aph (Aphrodite Macbain): I find no matter how much I learn, I forget at least half but that half just goes into a compost of ideas and experience and knowledge

Raffila Millgrove: I have a suggestion of a book that explains genetics very clearly/easy written by a social scientist who points how how average person doesn't understand how it works and illogically assigns too much emphasis on genetic profiles. Really changed my understnading too of GMO food.

Raffila Millgrove: points out that more scientists are ok with GMO food as basically it's lab genetic modifying, but historicaly we've done genetic mod on most of our food sources--wheat for exapmple from earliest times and say that more scientsts believe GMO is ok than believe in climate change!

Raffila Millgrove: you know when Adams had that fab exibit.. on the Chinese poem that is so old, the series of poems about the woman captured for ransom..and taken to far North area of China.. I was so taken by the translation. It seemed for something done in the 1970's incredibly contemporary. Good lesson in how much translation can affect one.
