    Riddle Sideways: 2 months ago
Storm Nordwind: We have some fires in Colorado, including one that’s 42,000 hectares/165 square miles, but they're west and south of here.

    Eliza Madrigal: brb(Hi Adams!)

    Connection hindrances

Riddle Sideways: something feels laggy today
    Eden Haiku: indeed
Eden Haiku: How is everyone doing?
Adams Rubble:Firestorm is not working on my computers needing to use wireless
Adams Rubble:only on my computer with direct connection
Eden Haiku: Ah! Are you using Apple computers Adams?
Adams Rubble: I can use the SL Viewer on the others
    Adams Rubble gasps--no not Apple
    Adams Rubble: PC
Eden Haiku: I bought a new MacBook for the summer, thinking it would settle my issue with SL but no, I learnt (too late) thatI can't even download Firestorm on the new one. So I brought the old one up the hills...
    Riddle Sideways: not even download?
Adams Rubble: just thought I'd throw that out for general info.

    --BELL--

Eden Haiku: No, it seems developers from both SL and Apple don't care....
Adams Rubble:The web thinks I need a new router but not having trouble with anything else

    Flow

    Riddle Sideways: welcome back
    Adams Rubble: wb Eliza
Eden Haiku: Should we all have studied engineering :)
Riddle Sideways: Eliza, is that new hair?
Eliza Madrigal: Thanks, Riddle :) Now I can see Eden's beautiful dress and face ^.^
Eliza Madrigal: Hm, new old hair, just like RL avi
    Adams Rubble: seems so Eden
Eden Haiku: A poney tail Eliza !
    Eliza Madrigal: reins ^.^
    Riddle Sideways: ㋡
Eliza Madrigal: Sorry to be late and interrupt the flow. And thanks again for the news on the rescue
    Riddle Sideways: Flow?
    Eden Haiku: Flow LOL
    Eliza Madrigal: no flow? lol
    Eden Haiku: No flow YET
    Eden Haiku: No YETI either
    Storm Nordwind: Orinoco flow?
Riddle Sideways:many are resisting going on and on about local computer/Internet/SL issues
Eden Haiku: No deer yet but they might come. We have two this summer ;)
Riddle Sideways: 3 deer out front right now[missed that!]
Eden Haiku: I feel you are resisting telling us about some Internet /IA issues Riddle?
Eliza Madrigal handles her jealousy well, looking out the window at the line of cars
Riddle Sideways: turkeys are moving leaves back out into clean driveway
    Eliza Madrigal: hahaha
    Eden Haiku: onigokko
    Eden Haiku: stop
    Eden Haiku: Ah!!!
Eliza Madrigal: now I feel awake!
Riddle Sideways:hmmm, need to add that to every outfit
    Eden Haiku: Refreshing!
Eden Haiku: Row row your boat/ Gently down the stream
Eden Haiku: Life is but a dream
Eden Haiku: Looking for something like flow :)
    Eliza Madrigal smiles

    University of Miami

Eden Haiku: Was wondering Eliza, if you don't mind answering, what classes are you taking at university?
Eliza Madrigal: aha, just realized firestorm was sticking because it opened two windows
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, I'm taking a paralegal course
Eliza Madrigal: it is somewhat intensive for 4 months
Eliza Madrigal: but I'll then be a little more useful
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Riddle Sideways: you had said you were taken course, but had not said what subject
Eliza Madrigal: this is a course I've been looking at for a few years....
Riddle Sideways: that is intensive course (4 months)
Eliza Madrigal:in a nice environment, University of Miami
    Eden Haiku: interesting...
Eden Haiku: You will feel like a young girl again :)
Eliza Madrigal: Would be nice if that is an effect... also forces me out and about
Eliza Madrigal: change some habits, maybe not eat as a hobby
    Eliza Madrigal giggles
    Storm Nordwind chuckles
    Adams Rubble: :)
Eden Haiku: Yes, having new friends who are much younger does create that effect I think :)
Riddle Sideways: hey, like eating as a hobby
Eliza Madrigal: I also feel it will give me something to do when I can't be out marching in the sun, etc.
Eliza Madrigal:something useful, busywork for volunteering, etc
Eden Haiku: When I went back to university, I had a lot of fun asking young students about their thesis subjects. They love to chat away about their obsession and you learn a lot about them :)
Eliza Madrigal: It is a mystery who will be taking this class, probably a mixture of people changing careers or starting careers
Eliza Madrigal: it isn't the smartest path for early on, unless you will eventually become an attorney
Eden Haiku: Suspecting Eliza to study in order to learn how to impeach 45 :)
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eden Haiku: and other precious causes :)
Eliza Madrigal: we'll see... it isn't bad to tag onto business offerings

    --BELL--

Eliza Madrigal: but I have to not let myself think about my age
Eliza Madrigal: or I start spiraling
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eden Haiku: You are starting this week aren't you?
Eliza Madrigal: all day Saturdays, thankfully. Was not sure if I could get into that
Eliza Madrigal: then work at home during the week
Eden Haiku: Your age! You are still so YOUNG (((Eliza)))
    Eliza Madrigal: roughly 25 hrs
Eliza Madrigal: my age and stages of life are all out of order! hah
    Eliza Madrigal: <--Picasso
    Eden Haiku: LOL
Riddle Sideways: pffffft on natural order
Eliza Madrigal: well thanks for that kindness :)
Eliza Madrigal: just doing whatever the logical next thing seems to be
Adams Rubble: wish you well on your course

    Video games

Eden Haiku: Just graduated to year 4 on Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery :) Hope you will still have time to play Eliza :)
Eden Haiku: It's a lovely game.
Eden Haiku: I created a character also called Eden Millar :)
Riddle Sideways: Father-in-law went back and got legal assistant and worked for his son, until that got awkward
    Eden Haiku: How so Riddle?
    Eliza Madrigal: :) Ty Adams
Riddle Sideways: hmmm, the father taking orders from son
    Eden Haiku: Ah, yes...
    Adams Rubble:move faster old man
    Riddle Sideways: yes
Eliza Madrigal: yes, can imagine that would be awkward :))
Eliza Madrigal: unless enough busy work not to bump into each other much!
Eliza Madrigal: (sorry, someone IMed me to ask about disability groups in SL)
Eliza Madrigal: I couldn't play Harry Potter long enough for it to be fun, Eden, phone kept getting too hot :( :(
Eliza Madrigal: So many things I need to replace right now
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Riddle Sideways: and was just distracted by how many group IM are chatting.
Eden Haiku: Ah...Sad. It also takes a lot of patience. I always wait, not wishing to use credit card :)
    Eliza Madrigal: :))
Eden Haiku:I'm one pink diamond away from being able to adopt a cat :)
    Eliza Madrigal giggles
Eliza Madrigal: Will you name the cat Bella?
Riddle Sideways:yet another sentence not thought to have read in this life
    Eliza Madrigal: ha ha
Eden Haiku: Ah...Was thinking of calling her "Natasha¨ like my RL cat who died 5 years ago...
Eliza Madrigal: awww, yes, better :)
Eliza Madrigal: I used to play this wonderful little game when the kids were little, called Harvest Moon
Eliza Madrigal: you plant radishes and milk cows...
Eden Haiku: we gave names to the deer: Victoire (which means Victory in French) and Victoria.
Eliza Madrigal: beautiful :) majestic deer

    --BELL--

Eden Haiku:  seems old video  games are coming back, vintage! Like vinyls...

Eliza Madrigal: with good reason maybe. the new games are pretty intense I think

Eliza Madrigal: Harvest Moon took so long to do anything, which made it so relaxing
Eden Haiku: Went to an art gallery opening in the village yesterday with a DJ and cocktails in the sun and they had a room to listen to old vinyls...
Riddle Sideways: radishes are one of the fastest crops, but would still take a season
    Eliza Madrigal: lol
Eden Haiku: loves radishes, even virtual :)
Eliza Madrigal: the genius is in the sound they make when you pluck them up from the ground, you can feel it
Eden Haiku: I suppose this is about virtual radishes...
    Eliza Madrigal: haha yes
Eliza Madrigal: sadly I've never plucked a real radish
Eden Haiku: Not picturing Eliza planting REAL radishes in Florida :)
Riddle Sideways: they usually don't make that sound
    Eliza Madrigal: darn
Eden Haiku: They don't. no. Used to pluck them in my grandma's garden :)
Eliza Madrigal: Sweet! Every grandma should have a garden ^.^
Eden Haiku: Silent radishes are a good sign they aren't virtual
Storm Nordwind: Do they not scream like a mandrake root? ;)
Riddle Sideways: and virtual cow milking would be much nicer then RL
    Eliza Madrigal laughs
Eden Haiku: But in Hogwarts greenhouse mandrake roots do scream a lot Storm!
Storm Nordwind: AH... what do I know? :)
Eliza Madrigal: horrifying creatures, well designed :)
Eden Haiku: Picturing Riddle milking a cow and getting some warm milk into his eyes :(

Airports and a high school reunion

Riddle Sideways: now picturing an airport waiting area and somebodies phone mandrake roots screaming
Eliza Madrigal: how you might find Eden in an airport
Eden Haiku: Yes, better wear your earplugs :)
    Eden Haiku: hey hey!
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Adams Rubble: I must go. Have a nice day everyone :)
    Adams Rubble: bye for now
    Storm Nordwind waves
Eliza Madrigal: Bye Adams, you too
    Riddle Sideways: by Adams
    Eden Haiku: Bye Adams :)
Eliza Madrigal: we used to set aside two days every summer to watch all the harry potter films, order take-out and make desserts
    Riddle Sideways: ahhhhh
Eliza Madrigal: lots of nice memories
Eden Haiku: Oh, airport reminds me: did the visitor came back to PaB? He was saying that SL sometimes looks like an empty airport...
Eden Haiku: Oh nice Eliza :))
Storm Nordwind: No he didn't return. Not yet anyway.
    Riddle Sideways: not seen him
Eden Haiku: Watched the first movie again a few days ago. It's a looong movie :)
Eliza Madrigal: airport analogy is a good one
Storm Nordwind:Perhaps he is helping with the SL art installation that is an empty airport.
Eden Haiku: Thanks guys. Yes, I liked the analogy too
Eliza Madrigal: for SL birthday party?
Eden Haiku: oh Storm, didn't know about that...
Storm Nordwind: I was joking. You help the installation by staying away.
    Eliza Madrigal: ha ha
    Eden Haiku: Ah!
Eliza Madrigal:airports are such ghostly places
Eliza Madrigal: even when full of people
Riddle Sideways: one of the SL 15 Bday gifts was at an airport
    Eden Haiku: Yes...
Storm Nordwind: I have enjoyed some, endured some. Been to so many...
Eden Haiku: That was to airports being ghostly places
    Riddle Sideways: yes
Eden Haiku: Can you imagine these young boys scuba diving with minimal training in tiny passages...
Riddle Sideways: next week am going to a little Erie, Pa. airport

    --BELL--

Riddle Sideways: have never been to that one
Eden Haiku: Are you visiting some friends Riddle?
Eliza Madrigal: small airports can be charming :)
Riddle Sideways: they were friends in high school ... going to a reunion
    Eden Haiku: Oh, how wonderful!
Riddle Sideways: not saying the year
    Eliza Madrigal grins
    Eden Haiku: grins too
Eliza Madrigal: that will be fun
Riddle Sideways: full of OLD people
Eliza Madrigal: all the same age though!
Storm Nordwind: You going to Tom Ridge Field?
Eden Haiku: Will you be dressing like Riddle, poney tail and Hawaiian shirt ?
    Eliza Madrigal: young in context
    Riddle Sideways: actually yes
Eden Haiku: Your Beach Boy self!
Riddle Sideways: wear a lot of Hawaiian shirts
Riddle Sideways: is that the name of the airport?
    Eden Haiku: loves Hawaiian shirts
    Eliza Madrigal: me too
Storm Nordwind: By the lake, yes. Tom Ridge calls itself an international airport. May not be that small.
Eden Haiku: Where is the group meeting?
Riddle Sideways: would be International with flights in/out Canada
    Riddle Sideways: that foreign country
    Eden Haiku: hehe
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Storm Nordwind remembers why the name of Erie rhymes with dreary
    Eden Haiku: why?
Storm Nordwind remembers but is not telling! ;-))
    Riddle Sideways: tease!!!!
    Eden Haiku: ohoh!!
Storm Nordwind: We will let Riddle explain after his return ;)
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eden Haiku: by the way Storm, French Canadians with an education speak French in a way you would understand and be understood...
    Storm Nordwind: Oh cool!
Storm Nordwind: And I would not be ostracized for having a Parisian accent?
Eden Haiku: Read your story last session and was quite surprised to read you weren't understood...
Riddle Sideways: yes, laughed at that story too
Storm Nordwind: Oh, I think I was understood. It was an act of defiance. They didn't want me to see that I was understood
Eden Haiku: No, not in the eighties. Maybe in the sixties, but not in the eighties
Eliza Madrigal: it is a peculiar story that one would only encounter first hand, except for anyone who stumbles upon the PaB log now :))
Eden Haiku: Switching to English is sometimes the result of our alienation. We are a people under siege for so many centuries...
Eden Haiku: It's a very complex matter...
Storm Nordwind: I remember other things from that visit. Like walking around Mont Royal and leaning into a strong gale and yet the temperature was 35°C (95°F). It felt very strange!
Riddle Sideways: funny the things remembered
Storm Nordwind: In England strong winds only ever occurred with cold weather, so this was a change for me.
Riddle Sideways: well, it is suppose to get very hot again today, so need to go do outside stuff before then
    Eliza Madrigal: neat observation actually
Riddle Sideways: should go get it started
Eden Haiku: yes, me too :) Hot here too today.
    Eliza Madrigal: :) Ntsy Riddle
    Storm Nordwind: Bye Riddle!
Eliza Madrigal: here too, of course.... hot and humid
Eden Haiku: have a nice day everyone and enjoy your Saturdays at the university Eliza !
    Eliza Madrigal: thanks Eden!
Eden Haiku: Thank you for being here :)
Eliza Madrigal: enjoy your mondays <3
    Eden Haiku: Thanks :)))
Storm Nordwind: Thank you for hosting :)
Eden Haiku: Thank you Storm have a nice day :)
Eliza Madrigal: say hello to the deer :))
    Eden Haiku: Will :)
