Eliza, Riddle, Eden and Captain Adams: went from this
Captain Adams
Eden Haiku: hey sailor :)
Eden Haiku: Captain!
Adams Rubble: Good morning Eden and Riddle :)
Eden Haiku: Hi Riddle:)
Riddle Sideways: Ay ay Captain
Riddle Sideways: and Blanche
Riddle Sideways: Hi Eden
Adams Rubble: This is not my idea. My rl person put this on me
Riddle Sideways: is ok, they make suggestions sometimes
Eden Haiku: It's a lovely outfit Adams :))
Riddle Sideways: and you follow just to please/apease them
Adams Rubble: Happy Labor Day or Labour for some of us :)
Eden Haiku: Yes, happy Labor Day!
Riddle Sideways: almost did not get up, thinking Labour Day was a holiday to avoid work
Adams Rubble: :) Riddle
Eliza Madrigal: Mornin' :)
Eden Haiku: Was talking with Bunbun and the dear rabbit reminded me I neglect my cat Blanche so I took her with me this morning :)
Adams Rubble: Good morning Eliza :)
Riddle Sideways: Canada has a different Labor Day? Soon? past?
Eden Haiku: Hello Eliza, happy Labor Day!
Eliza Madrigal: thanks :)
Eden Haiku: No, for once we habe the same holiday :)
Riddle Sideways: ha! caught you talking with Bunbun
Adams Rubble: :)
Eden Haiku: *have
Adams Rubble: Trump won't like that
Eden Haiku: ;)
Eden Haiku: Raining a lot here. Hot and humid already. You?
Eliza Madrigal: edges of a tropical storm here
Eliza Madrigal: so feels like I'm on a boat :)
Eden Haiku: heee...
Adams Rubble: Oh yes, Eliza. I hope there is not much damage
Eden Haiku: Hope so too. Stay safe...
Eliza Madrigal: It is hardly touching us, but lots of rain. Will be fighting not to nap today, when I have so many other things to do
Riddle Sideways: is that the end of the hurricane Cuba had?
Eliza Madrigal: It has just barely formed
Eliza Madrigal: but they don't expect it to be a hurricane at landfall thankfully
Eliza Madrigal: hoping for a nice breeze afterward!
Adams Rubble: potential big one on the way from Africa
Eden Haiku: Did you hear the Minister of Ecology in France resigned last week, saying it's already too late, lobbyists are talking with the government and they cannot take any step to move in the right direction. The planet is doomed.
Riddle Sideways: yes, heard that
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, no :( Hadn't heard this
Adams Rubble: I did not hear that but the planet will be fine. It is humans who may be doomed
Eden Haiku: And a letter was signed by some 100 celebrities urging world leaders to DO something...
Eliza Madrigal: I'm sure leaders will get on dismantling capitalism right away
Eden Haiku: Yes, that's what the Minister said, the problem is for humans...
Riddle Sideways: ha
Eden Haiku: I guess that's why Blanche is crying...Trying to find the instructions to soothe her...
Eliza Madrigal: (((aw)))
Eden Haiku: What's on your plate today Eliza, no day off for you?
Riddle Sideways: there are 2 cats in this room. One is looking for Blanche and that sound the other ignores and is going back to sleep
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eliza Madrigal: I have assignments to work on today
Eden Haiku: Blanche wants to play with the curious cat :)
Eliza Madrigal: they always feel impossible before I get half way in
Adams Rubble: it
Riddle Sideways: is Save the Planet one of the assignments
Adams Rubble: it's not right on a holiday Eliza
Eliza Madrigal: Not unless I can write the panet to convince it to hand over discovery
Adams Rubble: holiday
Eden Haiku: You should take one day off Eliza :)
Eliza Madrigal: *planet, haha
Eliza Madrigal: :) I took yesterday off, but thanks
Riddle Sideways: thinks discovery has already been done, handed in and ignored
Eliza Madrigal nods sadly
Eden Haiku: yes, sadly
--BELL--
Bouncing up and down with anticipation
Eliza Madrigal: So I guess we just have to find ways of appreciating and bringing out the best in each other from here on out, whether is 'saves us' or not
Eliza Madrigal: it*
Eliza Madrigal: grr bad typing this morning, more coffee needed brb
Eden Haiku: smiles
Adams Rubble: yes to appreciating and bringing out the best in each other
Riddle Sideways: bab typing is a way of life
Adams Rubble sings "Nearer My God to Thee" while rearranging the deck chairs
Riddle Sideways: ㋡
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eliza Madrigal: Now the coffee aroma will fill the apartment and bring life to all things
Eden Haiku: SoundOff
Eliza Madrigal: One positive... I finished reading (listening to) The Path book that Bleu and Storm both recommended. It might make a really nice PaB exploration
Riddle Sideways: Sound On
Eden Haiku: Pheew...Cat will be quiet from now on, but thunder is approaching here...
Eden Haiku: A new book exploration Eliza?
Eliza Madrigal: yes, it is just one of the books suggested, but the first one I can see how we'd work with it easily
Eliza Madrigal: not easy to be on the same page with one another, similar depths or expectations
Eliza Madrigal: but this is a deep but not deep book, if that makes sense, that talks about different Chinese philosophers
Eliza Madrigal: contrasting them
Eden Haiku: Ah, ok...
Riddle Sideways: working on "a deep but not deep" need more coffee
Eliza Madrigal: so, wu wei comes up, chi/qi, other things... but in a way that doesn't feel like you need to be a scholar of obscure texts
Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: oh good
Adams Rubble 's path looks like the drawing of an angry child with a blacl crayon
Eliza Madrigal: was written by a professor who had a popular course at Yale or Harvard, so, maybe I can find a way to organize it, even with school ongoing
Eliza Madrigal smiles widely at Adams :)
Eden Haiku: As I was searching online for my new book project, I found videos of Ma Anandamayi. Had heard of her decades ago, before the Web. Found it fascinating to see so many photos and videos about her.
Eliza Madrigal: Oh! :::listens:::
Eden Haiku: Trying to find a link :)
Eliza Madrigal: :))
Eliza Madrigal bounces up and down with anticipation
Eden Haiku: She didn't write anything so it wouldn't be interesting for our book club here:) Your remark about the Chinese masters just reminded me of her :)
Eliza Madrigal: I'm curious about who she is
--BELL--
Improving our postures
To this
Riddle Sideways: thinks Eliza might be looking for new distractions from homework
Adams Rubble: :)
Eliza Madrigal grins, shhh
Riddle Sideways: shhhh-ing
Eliza Madrigal laughs
Eliza Madrigal: I'm always curious about what/who inspires
Eden Haiku: She was born in India in 1896 and died in India in 1982. was mostly silemt. Born a saint. Here is link to a documentary about her life: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h2aCc6i-TkM
Eden Haiku: At least, I didn,t find any scandals linked to her name :)
Eliza Madrigal: ty :)
Eden Haiku: One more distraction for your work Eliza :)
Eliza Madrigal: an inspiring distraction will help :)
Eden Haiku: I find her inspiring, I hope you will too :) She mainly swims into unity :)
Eden Haiku: Smiles at her devotees and talks very sparsely.
Eden Haiku: Hoiw all your own many projects doing Adams?
Eliza Madrigal: half my issue is just having confidence that 'everything will be okay', and finding people who have interesting paths, is one of the best ways to pierce through the slog
Eden Haiku: Yes, I see what you mean :)
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Riddle Sideways: a common confidence issue lately
Eliza Madrigal: Looking at Adams is improving my posture today, maybe that will help too ;-)
Eden Haiku: Ma Anandamayi seemed to live in simpler times, but they were not, really., WW 1 and WW 2, Partition of India and so on.,,..
Adams Rubble: history always looks simpler
Eliza Madrigal nods, the myth of moral clarity
Adams Rubble: my present projects are like my former sleves--hard to balance them and keep them from acting up
Eden Haiku: Now, we are all sitting upright. Neat,. Adams is seeting a good example.
Eliza Madrigal grins
Adams Rubble: selevs not sleves :)
Adams Rubble: selves
Eden Haiku: Elves of selves?
Adams Rubble gets out her angry crayon drawing and hands it out
Adams Rubble not a good example
Riddle Sideways: thanks
Adams Rubble pictures everyone in uniform
Eden Haiku: On a SeaOrg boat with other scientologists hihi
Riddle Sideways: ha, Hawaian shirt has become new uniform
Eden Haiku: Have any of you taken the EST training?
Eden Haiku: Way back in the early eighties?
Riddle Sideways: EST training
Eliza Madrigal: no, I've only heard of it through a TV show called The Americans
Adams Rubble: not me
Riddle Sideways: oh! years ago and far away
Eliza Madrigal: until now :))
Eden Haiku: The Werner Erhard enlightnement workshop over two week ends?
Eliza Madrigal: Did you take this?
Eden Haiku: Ah, Riddle, this is it!
Eden Haiku: Yes Eliza, took it back in 1980.
Eden Haiku: And the 6 Days, and the Communication Workshop and on and on.
--BELL--
The Hang Loose Cult
And this
Eden Haiku: Until I met someome who had been in the SeaOrg of Scientology (I dabbled in scientlogy too for a few years) and made me realize how silly it was, all of it...
Riddle Sideways: even think son took it a few years ago
Eliza Madrigal: glancing at google, there is talk of come back, so maybe revamping in some way
Eden Haiku: Now, we can find so many things online about all this,. it's amazing.
Eden Haiku: I would like to be able to search the deep web, not that easy though...
Eliza Madrigal: There is so much one can read, but sometimes I really feel the loss of the human element, which changes things so dramatically, whatever the outline
Eden Haiku: Yes Eliza, I do agree.
Eliza Madrigal: so a mixed blessing, because simultaneously I agree, such an abundance of knowledge!
Eden Haiku: I'm kind of sorting out the unwritten logs of my own experiences, the way Adams is sorting out her past selves as found in her blog.
Eden Haiku: What was your own experience of EST Riddle?
Riddle Sideways: hard to remember, gets confused with other experiences going on near the same time
Riddle Sideways: do remember that the weekend thing, tried to get ya to the week long then to seminars to teaching to ... and to ...
Riddle Sideways: however, that was a common thing with many others
Riddle Sideways: think son came back saying much the same
Riddle Sideways: can't remember the program that he did stick with
Eden Haiku: Yes, for me too but I'm realizing it's probably the experience that authorized me into looking into other experiences as well. I became fearless for a few years. Snorkeling in deep sea from a boat, riding a horse on my own by the pyramids, swimming across a lake...
Eliza Madrigal: wow
Eden Haiku: Even stood on my head in yoga class for a while
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Adams Rubble: :)
Eliza Madrigal: Is there some desire to get back to that feeling?
Riddle Sideways: can't do that any more
Eden Haiku: neither can I :(
Riddle Sideways: saw San do it
Adams Rubble: brb
Eden Haiku: Not a desire to get back to that, but to understand what was driving me, what was driving us, all these people...with EST, then with the guru...
Eliza Madrigal: Interesting. I guess there comes a time to lay bare one's intentional programming too... check up on how things are interacting... trace it all out ... with 'selves' too
Eden Haiku: Yes, Eliza: a way of ditching the programming, certainly...
Eden Haiku: But do we ever?
Eden Haiku: I ended up being pretty much like my mother...
Eliza Madrigal: I can't ... still rely on a million props
Eden Haiku: And my father,
Riddle Sideways: Yes Eliza, just not sure one guru would say it my way
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eden Haiku: Riddle, you are my new guru :))
Eliza Madrigal smiles, pictures everyone in sunglasses and hawaiian shirts
Eden Haiku: hehe
Riddle Sideways: hahahaha giggling
Riddle Sideways: The Hang Loose cult
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eden Haiku: What would be our hymn?
Riddle Sideways: Everybody on the Pina Colada diet
Riddle Sideways: Imagine
Adams Rubble: back, reading
Eliza Madrigal: a lot has happened
Riddle Sideways: from the book of John
Riddle Sideways: Lennon
Eliza Madrigal giggles
Eden Haiku: loves the Pina Colada diet. With nachos Riddleji?
Then this
--BELL--
Riddle Sideways: ok, that was LOL
Riddle Sideways: (since reading that book, can't type lol anymore)
Riddle Sideways: more giggles noticing all the sunglasses
Eliza Madrigal: solidarity
Riddle Sideways: how can y'all find them so fast in inventory
Eliza Madrigal: expert searchers
Riddle Sideways: of course Eliza's look more studently
Eliza Madrigal: didn't realize I had so many in inventory
Riddle Sideways: wow, a college of sunglasses
Eden Haiku: LOL
Eliza Madrigal: now we can see what Riddle sees
Riddle Sideways: scary huh
Eden Haiku: I see you :)
Riddle Sideways: seeing you
Eliza Madrigal: :) now need earphones
Riddle Sideways: But, do we really?
Eden Haiku: We chant om under our breath :)
Riddle Sideways: singing "Pinball Wizard"
Riddle Sideways: put on your blinders, put in your ear plugs
Eliza Madrigal: grooving to riddle rhythms... pinball wizard with underlying OM ;-)
Eden Haiku: hehe
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, this is definitely going to help me with my work
Eliza Madrigal bwahahaha
Eliza Madrigal: ♥ ♥ ♥
Riddle Sideways: hope it does
Eden Haiku: I'm sure we will enjoy your work Eliza. Have fun!
Eden Haiku: Love you :)
Riddle Sideways: Groovy outfit, Eliza
Eliza Madrigal: Thank you, lovely friends!! Have a beautiful day!! Love you <3
Eden Haiku: I meant "you" will enjoy :)
Adams Rubble: bye Eliza :)
Riddle Sideways: today appears to be a holiday for garbage collectors
Adams Rubble: only fair
Eden Haiku: Oh, so no seva for our guru this morning?
Riddle Sideways: get to live with our trash pile another day
Riddle Sideways: love the work SEVA does
Riddle Sideways: SEVA
Eden Haiku: An organization?
Riddle Sideways: darn too many keyboards
Riddle Sideways: yes, they gave me a free cap with a propellor on top ㋡
Eden Haiku: In ashrams, seva is like Dhobi house elves doing selfless unpaid work for the guru
Eden Haiku: for hours and hours every day
Riddle Sideways: seems to mean many things (according to search). was thinking of the worldside giver of glasses and eye exams
Eden Haiku: Saw that on google too :)
--BELL--
Wearing our lighter selves
Eden Haiku: Eye surgeons were also giving time and expertise to do eyes surgeries for the untouchables as guru seva back in India.
Eden Haiku: Might be connected to the ashram Foundation...
Riddle Sideways: might be, but is worldwide not
Riddle Sideways: *now
Eden Haiku: Yep!
Riddle Sideways: ha, gone completely aloha
Eden Haiku: Me too :)
Riddle Sideways: complete with flowers in your hair
Eden Haiku: It changes the mindset too :)
Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: it is a state of mind
Eden Haiku: No hawaiian shirt in inventory though. And Blanche went back to the yurt, dignified.
Riddle Sideways: and Adams, the captain of the Love Boat beginning all aloha
Eden Haiku: WoW Adams, that's lovely!
Riddle Sideways: who changes in mid-sentence
Eden Haiku: Only the shoulder pads lfet hihi
Eden Haiku: Flower!
Eden Haiku: We are in a cult and Riddle is our guru :)
Eden Haiku: I will do Thy bidding :)
Riddle Sideways: ha! leads by bad examples
Eden Haiku: As Krishna says to Arjuna in the Bhaghavad Gita
Riddle Sideways: hang loose
Eden Haiku: hang loose is something I so need to learn :)
Riddle Sideways: there is a peacefulness in the eyes and manner of Haiwian children and gurus
Eden Haiku: smiles
Eden Haiku: watching Adams change outfits in a blink of an eye:)
Also this (and many more: Adams was putting up a "hanging loose" fashion show)
--BELL--
Riddle Sideways: "I would not join any group that would let me join" - Groucho (maybe)
Riddle Sideways: yes, watching how many? lost count
Eden Haiku: I think Woody Allen said that. maybe he was quoting Groucho
Riddle Sideways: a fashion show, Adams
Eden Haiku: Cute!
Eden Haiku: Let's go to the beach!
Riddle Sideways: Beach, is a state of mind
Riddle Sideways: :)))))
Eden Haiku: oh! Adams what a great outfit!
Adams Rubble beaches the boat
Eden Haiku: Your anima is coming out!
Adams Rubble: do any of you remember the St Catharine's Monastery?
Adams Rubble: in SL
Eden Haiku: Yes, I went there in RL in Egypt in 2011
Adams Rubble: not the real one :)
Adams Rubble: and wow, eden
Eden Haiku: Remember you had one in the Museum too
Adams Rubble: yes link to it
Riddle Sideways: maybe in SL. there was a tour you snet links to
Adams Rubble: anyway this outfit was made by the creator
Eden Haiku: You wouldn't wear this at the Monastery though :)
Adams Rubble: no, they would lok you up
Riddle Sideways: why not?
Adams Rubble: lock
Adams Rubble: no head scarg Riddle
Adams Rubble: scarf
Riddle Sideways: oh
Eden Haiku: You ahve to be very decent in Egypt now. No short skirts, even for tourists,
Eden Haiku: Pants are barely tolerated.
Adams Rubble: yes, it scares the men
Eden Haiku: Poor things, they cannot countain their lust
Eden Haiku: As if we could countain ours :)
Adams Rubble nods
Eden Haiku: Thank you friends. I better go now. We have visitors tomorrow and a lot of preparations to do :)
