Adams Rubble: the last ten miles is really rough

Riddle Sideways: have to go out this morning too. Almost never traffic problems here
Adams Rubble: this morning I read about what happened to the Black soldiers returning from WW2 and I am depressed about it
Riddle Sideways: Oh, right
Adams Rubble: actually during WW2 some of the soldiers were sent to the South for training and some of them were lynched
Adams Rubble: lynching went up again after WW2
Riddle Sideways: am now a little depressed, please tell more

Adams Rubble: the US government was embarassed because the rest of the world was watching
Adams Rubble: some people convinced Truman that fighting lynching and suppression of voting rights was a way to fight communism
Adams Rubble: so Truman integrated the military and they cracked down on some of the worst ofenses
Adams Rubble: when Brown vs Board of Education happened it was seen as a victory over Communism
Adams Rubble: the Russians were crowing about how bad things were in US
Adams Rubble: the US wanted to be seen as the moral leader of the world
Riddle Sideways: that was not in the history books written for Us to study
Adams Rubble: nooo
Adams Rubble: it explains some what happened between Martin Luther King and J.Edgar Hoover
Adams Rubble: Hoover thought King was a Communist
Riddle Sideways: Pacifist and Communist are the same, aren't they? ;)

Adams Rubble: RFK advised King to distance himself from the friend
Adams Rubble: King did publically but not privately
Riddle Sideways: McCarthey thought Everybody had a friend that was a communist
Adams Rubble: yes, probably including himself
Riddle Sideways: there was a statement in a TV show 2 nights ago (The Amerikans). In WWII the US lost 400K and Russia lost 26 million
Adams Rubble: the Russians did suffer huge losses
Adams Rubble: when one gets in the millions it is becomes hard to be accurate

Riddle Sideways: saw the Panetta lecture series last night. the one with the ex-governor of NJ on the panel
Riddle Sideways: he was actually very good.

Riddle Sideways: it is nicer to watch, when the Pause button can be pressed and discussion can happen about what was just heard
Adams Rubble: CA has not had a Rep governor for years. easy to forget how messed up things get in the state
Riddle Sideways: yes, hard to remember
Riddle Sideways: we had Reagan
Adams Rubble: yes and the Terminator
Riddle Sideways: And there was the Grey Davis weirdness that ended in a short The Terminator term
Riddle Sideways: months later, it came out that the Energy companies came up with the whole mess to make Davis look bad

Adams Rubble: you didn't have any governors closing a bridge into NYC during rush hour
Riddle Sideways: Arnold was not toooo bad

Adams Rubble: yeah, he was not the orthodox Rep type
Riddle Sideways: and that closing a beach, then taking the family to it

Adams Rubble: the state of NJ paid some lawyers over a million dollars in order to cover up Christy's part in the bridge closing

Riddle Sideways: Tuesday's an up on the News day. Trainer guy comes over and the latest happenings always come up

Riddle Sideways: had a thing called Fennel and was grateful a new recipe made it very tasty

Riddle Sideways: and there will be one of the most funny things happen out the window in about a half hour
Adams Rubble: someotumes one appears and she yells CAT and they run for cover

Adams Rubble: squirrrels at the bird feeder out the window
