Riddle Sideways: Good Morning Adams ㋡
Adams Rubble: Good morning Riddle :)
Adams Rubble: It seems like a long time since we were here
Riddle Sideways: how's the weather now?
Adams Rubble: it has warmed up slightly but a mess came down yesterday and made it slushy between the piles of snow
Adams Rubble: good boot weather
Adams Rubble: hope is on the way
Adams Rubble: how about there?
Riddle Sideways: so much happens and does not happen each day
Adams Rubble: lots of blogging since then
Adams Rubble: myriad of topics to choose from
Riddle Sideways: right. you were very productive
Riddle Sideways: which is still most exciting to chat about
Riddle Sideways: (have not read yesterday's yet)
Adams Rubble: long post
Adams Rubble: we might start with Milarepa
Adams Rubble: “When you run after your thoughts, you are like a dog chasing a stick: every time a stick is thrown, you run after it. Instead, be like a lion who, rather than chasing after the stick, turns to face the thrower. One only throws a stick at a lion once.” -Milarepa
Riddle Sideways: true. the stick thrower tastes better than a stick
Adams Rubble: Lions make a good metaphor that works between eons
Riddle Sideways: dogs have been "Domesticated" and are Given food by the stick thrower
Riddle Sideways: also been true for eons
Adams Rubble: Spinoza could talk about the lion's cave. Footprints may go into the cave but none come put
Adams Rubble: dogs are faithful
Adams Rubble: become a symbol of faithfulness
crashed
Adams Rubble: uh oh
Adams Rubble: welcome back
Riddle Sideways: well, the olde computer tries to last the session
Riddle Sideways: what got missed?
--BELL--
Adams Rubble: I wrote that Spinoza could talk about the lion's cave. Footprints may go into the cave but none come out
Adams Rubble: I wrote that dogs became a symbol of faithfulness
Adams Rubble: then I said Uh oh when you crashed
Riddle Sideways: thanks
Riddle Sideways: read Spinoza, but not dogs are symbols
Riddle Sideways: Dogs Love so well
Riddle Sideways: See doG in everything :))
Adams Rubble: nice thought
Adams Rubble: what did you think of the quote from Stim. I remember being there when he said it and just being awed and confused:
Adams Rubble: In the June 19, 2017 post I included some posts from the three Play as Being dialogues between Pema and Stim. Among other statements, Stim says that “Is” is a better term than “Being”. He also says both are empty. I can’t believe that none of our avatars said “Please say more, please”.
Adams Rubble: are you there?
Riddle Sideways: yes. was thinking
Riddle Sideways: is hard to write during thinking
Riddle Sideways: also, do not have that blog with a Stim quote
Riddle Sideways: did a lot of searching and good stuff there
--BELL--
Riddle Sideways: then Sat with "Is" for a pleasant time
Riddle Sideways: some small issue with 'Is' as not as inclusive or big as Being
Adams Rubble listens
Riddle Sideways: Is, is almost there, but is a small bit limited
Riddle Sideways: Fun to play with PaI. however sentences with it in it are a bit more confusing
Riddle Sideways: and depending on the font. PaI looks like pal
Adams Rubble: what is Pal?
Riddle Sideways: Play as Is or my good ol pal, chum
Riddle Sideways: capital i vs small L in sansarif
Adams Rubble: ohhh
Riddle Sideways: however, if the charter of this group was to explore Reality then It might get us there faster
Adams Rubble: play as Is
Adams Rubble nods
Riddle Sideways: slipped
Adams Rubble: befuddles the agnostic who doubts the existence of Is
Adams Rubble: or Neitsche "Is is dead"
Riddle Sideways: yes
Riddle Sideways: 'Being' is religiously loaded
Adams Rubble: well, some of us have come to see it that way
Riddle Sideways: Exploring Is
Riddle Sideways: might maybe get 13 years out of exploring Is
Adams Rubble: "Is" is more dynamic while Being seems more static
Adams Rubble: the world is in motion
Adams Rubble: we are evolving
Adams Rubble: our molecules are changing every day
Adams Rubble: our thoughts are firing away
Riddle Sideways: Starting at the End. Works for either (and many other) words
Adams Rubble shudders. The end is close to was
Riddle Sideways: the thoughts are flying
Adams Rubble: but Is goes on
Adams Rubble: even we become "was"
--BELL--
Riddle Sideways: Long Live Is
Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: am stuck with "The Great and Powerful Is"!. that is Oz, sir
Adams Rubble: Oz seems so small when i think of Is
Adams Rubble: I see billions and billions of Carl Sagens
Riddle Sideways: Once saw one of the Carl Sagans give a lecture
Adams Rubble: ahh Cornell
Adams Rubble: lecture without the music by Van gelen
Riddle Sideways: and yet as more powerful telescopes are built and used there are even more Carl Sagans out there
Riddle Sideways: yes
Adams Rubble: what do you remember about the lecture?
Riddle Sideways: ha, the funny moment at the end, the last question. he and all of us thought the question was a ringer from one of his students paid to end the show on that question
Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble listens
Riddle Sideways: otherwise it was like his TV show with slides
Riddle Sideways: it happened to be in the same huge symphony hall that Chem 107 was in. Where that chem prof once kept us awake by lecturing on making LSD
Adams Rubble: yikes
Adams Rubble: shades of John lennon
Adams Rubble: I am going to have to leave on the hour to get ready to go out
Adams Rubble: hate to leave
Riddle Sideways: nothing makes (700) students pay attention in a class about stringing long chain molecules together like making LSD
Riddle Sideways: Be Careful going Out
Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: wear good boots
--BELL--
Riddle Sideways: one slip and fall ...
Adams Rubble: have a very good day and yes I am wearing my boots already :)
Adams Rubble: Looking forward to Thursday and continuing
Riddle Sideways: right, will do the homework
Riddle Sideways: ahead
Riddle Sideways: this time
Adams Rubble: Is
Riddle Sideways: by Is
Adams Rubble: bye for now
