    Adams Rubble is online.

    Adams Rubble: Hello Eos :)

    Eos Amaterasu: Hi Adams

    Adams Rubble: Happy Tuesday evening

Adams Rubble: I hope you are well

Eos Amaterasu: Thank u. Hope yours is going well

    Eos Amaterasu: Clouding up here

    Adams Rubble: yes, thank you

Eos Amaterasu: will block the Perseid meteor shower tmw night

Adams Rubble: we had rain all day today

    --BELL--

PaB Bell: Thank you. Please continue to be mindful.

Adams Rubble: meditations to start us off :)

    Eos Amaterasu: Good idea!

Eos Amaterasu: I had a perception about our Central Library

Eos Amaterasu: It's 5 stories high, with some of the floors at odd angles (so not just a brick)

Eos Amaterasu: with lots of windows

Eos Amaterasu: so you can see in from the street

Adams Rubble: I seem to remember you posting a picture

Eos Amaterasu: see people moving around, sitting, etc

Eos Amaterasu: which makes it feel very much that it's a living room that's part of city life

Eos Amaterasu: brilliant architecture, I think

    Adams Rubble: :)

Adams Rubble: There is a big delay in my postings tonight

    Eos Amaterasu: hmm, internet weather

Adams Rubble: cloudy between here and california I guess

    Eos Amaterasu: ah

Eos Amaterasu: Any "topics" coming up for u?

Adams Rubble: I am just finishing sitting in on an art history class on Chinese painting

    Adams Rubble: lots of painters

Eos Amaterasu: is the logger working here?

Adams Rubble: It did for me. Did you touch the rim?

    Eos Amaterasu: ah

    Adams Rubble: the ropy thingy

PaB Listener Master: Recording has started!

PaB Listener Master: Eos Amaterasu has just claimed the session and will receive link to the log after the session is done. This replaces any previous claim.

Adams Rubble: odd that it says recording is just starting
Eos Amaterasu: It wasn't in Record mode
Eos Amaterasu: but I savedthe convo
Adams Rubble: I thought it started recording as soon as someone arrived

Eos Amaterasu: I like Chinese painting
Eos Amaterasu: or whatever intersection I've had with that
Adams Rubble: lots of landscapes with mountains and water :)
Adams Rubble: hard to remember which is which
    Eos Amaterasu: yeah
Eos Amaterasu: humankind in the wild
Eos Amaterasu: actually, that's another perception I had while inside the library
Eos Amaterasu: I was hearing glimpses of voices, of children, that sounded like birds or animals in the woods
    Adams Rubble: :)
Eos Amaterasu: what a great effect: to have a building feel like being in the woods!
    Adams Rubble: yes!
Eos Amaterasu: maybe that's another aspect of what a "pavilion" can contain, or hold, or express
    Adams Rubble nods
    Adams Rubble: I like simple

    --BELL--

Eos Amaterasu: I think it was in the Smokey the Bear Sutra that Gary Snyder talked of a wildlife preserve where the wildlife is man
    [No, it's not there... ]
    Adams Rubble listens
Eos Amaterasu: That library experience made me realize that that was possible
Eos Amaterasu: What is the "natural" (ie, wild) state of us?
Adams Rubble: I think whatever we are :)
Eos Amaterasu: there we are :-)
Adams Rubble: I have thought of my place in thwe woods sometimes when i am there
    Adams Rubble: seeing myself walk
Adams Rubble: that was a result of some exercise Pema used to have us do
Adams Rubble: whenever I am at that place I think of it
Adams Rubble: The two-legged mammal walks
Eos Amaterasu: Can you describe the exercise?
Adams Rubble: it is funny, it was a hile ago and I forget what I was supposed to do and remember the result; maybe a Being seeing one
Adams Rubble: I know Pema wanted me to get some place and I am not sure whther I ever got there
    Eos Amaterasu: :-)
    Adams Rubble: Woods seeing me
Eos Amaterasu: me seeing, Being seeing?
    Adams Rubble: possibly; probably
Eos Amaterasu: yeah, there's that feeling of things around you radiating awareness as much as you
Eos Amaterasu: kind of an equality
Adams Rubble: it does limit some of the I-ness
Adams Rubble: merging into the landscape
    Eos Amaterasu: eye see
Adams Rubble: realizing the snakes are ssing me; the frogs are seeing me; the birds are seeing me; the trees are seeing me
Adams Rubble: funny typo; the snakes are seeing me
    Eos Amaterasu: :-)
Eos Amaterasu: your fingers know better
    Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: the people in the libbrary are seeing you
Eos Amaterasu: I think that's part of some religious traditions, that you are seen by God, so to speak, so stress of centralized me seeing equalizes, vaporizes
Adams Rubble: I have felt that
Eos Amaterasu: like if you're in a gap, you've fallen into the nine seconds, what is the basis for your action, your direction?
Adams Rubble: yes, looking at oneself
Eos Amaterasu: "not I, but Christ lives in me" (hope I got that right)
Adams Rubble: It sounds right :)
Adams Rubble: lives in my heart
Adams Rubble: back to the 9 seconds: what am I doing? why am I doing it?

    --BELL--

    Adams Rubble: looking outward
Eos Amaterasu: like that scene in the Godfather where Marlon Brando thrashes around in the garden with a grandchild
Eos Amaterasu: no direction home or away movements
Eos Amaterasu: just before he dies
    Eos Amaterasu: :-)
Adams Rubble trying to remember the scene--will look it up
Eos Amaterasu: thrashes as in plays
    Eos Amaterasu: spontaneously
    Adams Rubble: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4IRYpjj2_gw
Adams Rubble: It is on Youtube :)
Adams Rubble hums the Godfather music
Eos Amaterasu: it's the bug spray that kills him :-)
Adams Rubble: It has been nice; it is time for me to retire
Adams Rubble: I hope you have a very nice evening
    Adams Rubble: night
Eos Amaterasu: ok, thanks for dropping by
    Eos Amaterasu: enjoy the night
Adams Rubble: Always good to see you :)
Eos Amaterasu: may the night enjoy you
Adams Rubble: bye for now :)
    Adams Rubble: :)
Eos Amaterasu: interesting word, to en-joy

    Eos Amaterasu: ah, hello stevenaia
    stevenaia Michinaga: greetings Eos
    Eos Amaterasu: Adams just left
stevenaia Michinaga: sorry I missed her, it's been while
stevenaia Michinaga: how have you be3n?
Eos Amaterasu: must be raining in your parts
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, but that has passed for now
Eos Amaterasu: it's coming here :-)
stevenaia Michinaga: might be in Adam's neighborhood now
Eos Amaterasu: will cloud up view of Perseid meteors
stevenaia Michinaga: I see, how unfortunate, I had many nice August nights looking up
stevenaia Michinaga: nice to be in touch with the sky above when the chance presents it
Eos Amaterasu: "but the stars, they don’t need a reason to shine,
they are bright in every season you can find
    ."
    - Jill Barber, "Saskatoon"
stevenaia Michinaga: my sister-in-law lives where there are no nearby cities and night sky is amazing
    Eos Amaterasu: special
stevenaia Michinaga: she takes a walk every night
    Eos Amaterasu: hmmm
stevenaia Michinaga: when I visit, I go

    --BELL--

stevenaia Michinaga: the stars are bright like how deafening the insects are
stevenaia Michinaga: when that is all you hear
    Eos Amaterasu: sky crickets
    stevenaia Michinaga: :) yes
Eos Amaterasu: I've had some great experiences walking into the middle of a field of crickets
Eos Amaterasu: like being in gamelan jam session
stevenaia Michinaga: so that;s where he got it from
    Eos Amaterasu: ?
stevenaia Michinaga: a gamelan jam session
    Eos Amaterasu: monkey chant
stevenaia Michinaga: unless I am confuese
Eos Amaterasu: or like the Maori thing (was it?) that the schoolkids in New Zealand did for their teacher who had just died
stevenaia Michinaga: what is their ritual?
    Eos Amaterasu: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M6Qtc_zlGhc
    Eos Amaterasu: haka
    stevenaia Michinaga: https://vimeo.com/370386
    Eos Amaterasu: ah
Eos Amaterasu: the star dust beating its pulses through us
    stevenaia Michinaga: haka is amazing
Eos Amaterasu: like the Monkey Chant to some extent
Eos Amaterasu: "the sound of naked sangha", Chogyam Trungpa called it
Eos Amaterasu: I like the casual omni-participatory quality of Balinese/Javanese music
Eos Amaterasu: like being in New Orleans :-)
stevenaia Michinaga: not familair with that in particular
stevenaia Michinaga: but will search for some
Eos Amaterasu: (like the Gamelan Jam Session)
Eos Amaterasu: when they do shadow puppet plays, there's a screen to project the shadows onto
Eos Amaterasu: and a gamelan orchestra, but the audience can be on either side of the screen
    Eos Amaterasu: and wander around
Eos Amaterasu: being on either side of the screen is a great concept
stevenaia Michinaga: am having a low internt, the music will not play :(
    stevenaia Michinaga: *slow
    Eos Amaterasu: hmmm
Eos Amaterasu: adams was having internet weather also
stevenaia Michinaga: I suspect backing up while on SL doesn't help
stevenaia Michinaga: as it searches through 1.3 m+ files to select the new ones

    --BELL--

Eos Amaterasu: Well, think I will depart into the night
Eos Amaterasu: Thanks for dropping by, stevenaia
stevenaia Michinaga: good dreams my firend
    stevenaia Michinaga: friend
    Eos Amaterasu: you too :-)
    Eos Amaterasu: ciao ciao
