    Aphrodite Macbain: Hi Cat
    Catrinamonblue Resident: HI Aph :)
    Aphrodite Macbain: How are things?
Catrinamonblue Resident: going good... life has a way of moving :)
    Catrinamonblue Resident: how are you?
Aphrodite Macbain: great. Getting ready for the fall
    Aphrodite Macbain: Hi Bruce!
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
    Catrinamonblue Resident: Hi Bruce :)
    Aphrodite Macbain: :-)
    Bruce Mowbray: Howdy do!
    Aphrodite Macbain: Bruce
Bruce Mowbray: I'm still learning the various animations for these cushions.
    Bruce Mowbray: ha ha.
Aphrodite Macbain: they're good, aren't they?

    Becoming a Friend

Aphrodite Macbain: Do you know how someone can join Friends of Being now?
    Bruce Mowbray: Hmmm, good question.
Bruce Mowbray: Let me see... I will check the Friends' profile.
Aphrodite Macbain: Someone is interested in using our theatre but cant rez anything
Bruce Mowbray: kk, I will check.
Aphrodite Macbain: I'd like to offer her membership but can't figure out how
    Aphrodite Macbain: thanks!
Bruce Mowbray: Hmmm.. Perhaps one needs to be invited to join that group... There should be a sign and a join button somewhere.
    Aphrodite Macbain: There isn't....
    Bruce Mowbray nods.
Bruce Mowbray: Are you a member, Aph?
Aphrodite Macbain: Yes - of both
Bruce Mowbray: I don't see your name on the list, sry.
Bruce Mowbray: I will try to send you the joining link.
    Aphrodite Macbain: Odd. I do.."Aph"
Bruce Mowbray: OH! Sorry! Now I see it!
Bruce Mowbray: I was looking for Aphrodite, not for Aph.
    Bruce Mowbray: sry.
    Aphrodite Macbain: :-)
Catrinamonblue Resident: I just checked too :)
    Bruce Mowbray: :)
Aphrodite Macbain: Ah there is an invite button on this so I can invite her
Catrinamonblue Resident: I'm in there too :)
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, Cat is also a member. Yes, see if inviting her works. We can then work on setting up a sign for joining Friends of Being.
Aphrodite Macbain: I wonder whether Friends have permission to rez objects
Bruce Mowbray: Bruce Mowbray: Nope, I don't think so.
    Aphrodite Macbain: Hmmm
Aphrodite Macbain: We would have to make someone a Guardian I guess
Bruce Mowbray: I can rez stuff, but I think that's because I'm a guardian... Don't know for sure, though.
Bruce Mowbray: I currently have "Friends" activated.
Aphrodite Macbain: I have asked the WG if they would look into this
    Bruce Mowbray: Good.
Catrinamonblue Resident: That's prob the best idea Aph as they will have the ways to find out :)
Bruce Mowbray: Yeppers. I can rez stuff -- even though I am currently activated under Friends of Being - not under playasbeing.
Aphrodite Macbain: I can rez stuff as a Friend but maybe it also knows me as a Guardian
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, Aph. I have that same situation.
Aphrodite Macbain: Did either of you go to the 7 AM meeting?
Catrinamonblue Resident: I wasn't able to, was at work
Bruce Mowbray: Not I. I attend a meditation group every morning at 7.
    Aphrodite Macbain: k
Bruce Mowbray: Eden conducted it, I understand.
    Aphrodite Macbain: Yes
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
    Bruce Mowbray: Were you there?
Aphrodite Macbain: I was curious about how it went
Aphrodite Macbain: no. I was asleep!
Bruce Mowbray: Hmmm. Can't help you on that one.
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Aphrodite Macbain: I'll look at the wiki
Bruce Mowbray: I was also asleep at 7 a.m. -- local time, though.
    Bruce Mowbray nods, good idea.
Aphrodite Macbain: I thought it might be nice to have a "follow up" discussion at the 1pm session when appropriate

    Aphrodite Macbain: Hi Qt
    Bruce Mowbray: Heya, Qt!
    Catrinamonblue Resident: Hi Qt :)
    Aphrodite Macbain: Welcome
Qt Core: Hi Aph, Bruce, Cat
Aphrodite Macbain: Did you go to Eden's session this morning Qt?
Catrinamonblue Resident: it's so relaxing to listen to the water.... :) I really like that
Aphrodite Macbain: Yes- interesting how certain sounds influence our emotions

Qt Core: No, i was in Expo for my 9th time ;-)
    Aphrodite Macbain: :-)
Aphrodite Macbain: what did you see today?
    Bruce Mowbray: Yayyy!
Qt Core: cool temp but strong sun, got a little sunburned i think
    Bruce Mowbray: uh oh.
Aphrodite Macbain: Expo is the International exposition that moves from country to country
    Aphrodite Macbain: Seattle had one
Aphrodite Macbain: Vancouver had one in 1986
Bruce Mowbray: I went to the Seattle and New York world's fairs.
Qt Core: let's see, Malesya, China, Uruguay, Enel (main Italian electricity producer and distributor), Save The Children, Laos, Bangladesh, Cambogia
    Aphrodite Macbain: wow

Bruce Mowbray: Has anyone heard from Calvino? I'm concerned about whether he might have been affected by the bombing in Bangkok.
    Aphrodite Macbain: No, nothing.... :-(
    Qt Core: !
    Bruce Mowbray: Me neither.
    Catrinamonblue Resident: bombing? :(
Bruce Mowbray: I think I will email him.
    Aphrodite Macbain: Hi Zen!
    Catrinamonblue Resident: Hi Zen
    Qt Core: Hi Zen
    Bruce Mowbray: Heya, Zen.
    Zen Arado: Hi all
Aphrodite Macbain: Come and get your pants wet!

    World Expo

Qt Core: oh, and Argentina, where there was a spectacular drum show
    Bruce Mowbray: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-33963280
Aphrodite Macbain: what are your favourite exhibits so far?
Qt Core: Belgium and Corea (but i haven't seen yet the big guns that seem to be Japan, Italy, Kazakstan
Aphrodite Macbain: Kazakstan! (Reads the news article on the bombing in Bangkok)....how horrible!
Bruce Mowbray: The Tree of Life is quite cool.
Aphrodite Macbain: The Tree of Life? which country made that?
Bruce Mowbray listens for answer from Qt.
Qt Core: Italy, is it the equivalent of the Seattle tower/Eiffel tower, the big weird thing ;-)
Bruce Mowbray: It's really beautiful after dark.
Bruce Mowbray: Very graceful and colorful, indeed.
Zen Arado: weir is a small waterfall?
Aphrodite Macbain: you are floating Bruce!
    Zen Arado: ah ok
Qt Core: in this album i have some pic of it at night: https://picasaweb.google.com/1104762...po2015Mission7
    Bruce Mowbray: ty.
    Zen Arado: manmade waterfall
    Qt Core: (the last ones)
Aphrodite Macbain: Like a fountain! Beautiful
    Bruce Mowbray: Gorgeous photos, Qt.
Bruce Mowbray: Thanks for sharing them with us.
    Catrinamonblue Resident: lovely :)
Aphrodite Macbain: I like the Korean stuff a lot
Qt Core: "obviously" there is loud music too during the show ;-)
    Aphrodite Macbain: :-)
Aphrodite Macbain: during the fountain show?
    Qt Core: yes
Qt Core: the corean one is one of my favorite, as many seem too commercial/turistic
    Aphrodite Macbain: nods
Aphrodite Macbain: black and white simplicity
Qt Core: Corea adverts its traditional way of eating as a possible solution to health and sustainability of food
    Aphrodite Macbain: South Korea?
Bruce Mowbray: The theme of the Expo is 'food"....
    Qt Core: yes
Aphrodite Macbain: North Korea has a new time zone!
Bruce Mowbray: with emphasis on feeding everyone in a sustainable way.
Zen Arado: la Corée du Sud...the French spell it with a C too
    Aphrodite Macbain: nods
Bruce Mowbray ponders making his hermitage a new time zone.
    Catrinamonblue Resident: )
Zen Arado: they don't want to be like the Japanese
Aphrodite Macbain: apparently they are re-claiming it
Bruce Mowbray wonders when folks will grow up and wake up. . . This is the 21st Century, Mr. Dictator
    Aphrodite Macbain: lol
Qt Core: today i was shocked by learning in the Cambodia pavilion that just measuring exactly how deep rice field are they save 24% of water and rice consumes a lot of water

    Using our new theatre

Aphrodite Macbain: I was wondering whether you might like to discuss ideas for the theatre today
Aphrodite Macbain: the kinds of things we could use it for
Catrinamonblue Resident: I wish I had time to help out in that way.
Aphrodite Macbain: Ideas are helpful! Maybe Bruce and I can perform a ballet with Vespas
Catrinamonblue Resident: RL is so busy/full that I very rarely get to be in SL anymore.
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Bruce Mowbray hopes Zen's shoe leather doesn't shrink.
Qt Core: simple things not to scare people away from i say (liked the poetry thing and felt a little sad for not having been struck by inspiration for it)
Bruce Mowbray: I also enjoyed the 'poetry thing.'
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
Aphrodite Macbain: I enjoyed your presentation Qt. I think it might be nice to invite other avis in other sims to use it
Bruce Mowbray: Confession: I just reworked poems I'd written decades ago.
Catrinamonblue Resident: :) that's ok Bruce :) if we do another poetry reading that will be what I will most likely do :)
    Aphrodite Macbain: :-)
    Bruce Mowbray: :)
Aphrodite Macbain: they were wonderful Bruce
Catrinamonblue Resident: I did enjoy it Bruce :)
Bruce Mowbray: Interesting for me to note how the poetry had changed (in me) during those intervening years.
Aphrodite Macbain: I love to hear poetry repeated- each time you hear new things
    Catrinamonblue Resident: :)
    Bruce Mowbray: For sure, Aph.
Aphrodite Macbain: How has it changed Bruce?
Bruce Mowbray: Subtle meanings of words, and sounds, etc.
Zen Arado: I have gone completely away from writing
    Aphrodite Macbain: nods
Aphrodite Macbain: Have you Zen? Why?
Bruce Mowbray: Please do come back to it, Zen.
Zen Arado: remember a period of writing many poems
Zen Arado: it suddenly dried up
    Bruce Mowbray: hmmmm, sad.
    Aphrodite Macbain: It happens
    Bruce Mowbray: yeppers, it does.
Catrinamonblue Resident: I have found with my writing that I have times when nothing will come....
Zen Arado: don't know why I do anything
Aphrodite Macbain: sometimes you need something to re-motivate you
Bruce Mowbray: It's called "Priming the pump."
Catrinamonblue Resident: and then times when it will,
Aphrodite Macbain: I loved the painting you put on Facebook
Zen Arado: feel I need a break or something
    Catrinamonblue Resident: nods :)
Aphrodite Macbain: a new perspective... new information to chew over or be inspired by.....
Bruce Mowbray: Sometimes reading someone else's poem (or prose) will inspire you to write a poem of your own.
Zen Arado: I wrote about a 100 songs last 2 years

    Bruce Mowbray: WOWWWW!
    Bruce Mowbray: 100 songs!
    Aphrodite Macbain: Amazing Zen.
Zen Arado: some not very good
    Catrinamonblue Resident: oh wow Zen
Catrinamonblue Resident: my best writing seems to happen in the moments of deepest pain
Aphrodite Macbain: What happened to them Zen?
    Zen Arado: well not lyrics
Zen Arado: just melodies with vocal hooks mostly
Aphrodite Macbain: Maybe work with someone to add the lyrics
Zen Arado: never did get around to actual songwriting
Aphrodite Macbain: work with Bruce or Cat!
    Bruce Mowbray: Ha ha!
Zen Arado: would need a singer then too
Zen Arado: I have over 60 on Soundcloud
Aphrodite Macbain: It would be fun to have a collaborative venture: music, poetry (lyrics) dancing.... or work with Eden...
Zen Arado: took a lot of them off again
Bruce Mowbray: Did anyone see the 1981 Concert in Central Park by Simon and Garfunkel? Now there is genius in music and lyrics!
Bruce Mowbray: (I will find the link....)
Aphrodite Macbain: yes- and close harmony!
    Bruce Mowbray: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PATJlOwcIkM
Zen Arado: Paul Simon is a great song writer
Aphrodite Macbain: It would be fun to work together as a group- each contributing their own talents
    Aphrodite Macbain: Thanks Bruce
    Bruce Mowbray: yw.
Catrinamonblue Resident: slips away... sorry guys.... I have a group of teenagers making movies at my place today :)
Aphrodite Macbain: Maybe you could write a score for 2 Vespas and a poet!
Aphrodite Macbain: Zen ....Maybe you could write a score for 2 vespas and a poet!
Bruce Mowbray: bye for now, Cat. Be well.
Catrinamonblue Resident: talk with you all another time :)
    Qt Core: have fun ;-)
    Zen Arado: bye Cat
    Aphrodite Macbain: bye cat
Bruce Mowbray: I wish these animations allowed me to wave, etc.
Aphrodite Macbain: you need an AO

    Technical difficulties

Zen Arado: I have latest Firestorm
Zen Arado: still can't work out how to delete old files
    Bruce Mowbray: ha ha.
    Aphrodite Macbain: Old files?
    Aphrodite Macbain: where?
    Zen Arado: don't ask me
    Aphrodite Macbain: um ok
Zen Arado: you are supposed to delete old files and do a clean install
Aphrodite Macbain: ah for a clean install
Aphrodite Macbain: it's not hard once you find the files :-)
Zen Arado: but I can't find them
Zen Arado: the instructions don't work
    Aphrodite Macbain: It's always tedious
    Bruce Mowbray nods, agrees.
Aphrodite Macbain: at least the SL viewer doesn't ask you to
Aphrodite Macbain: You just need to find all your program files - they are all together
Aphrodite Macbain: and delete the old one
Zen Arado: "Launch the viewer but do not log in. Click the Viewer menu at the top, choose Preferences, then Network & Files, then Directories."
Zen Arado: I haven't got 'Network and Files
    Aphrodite Macbain: not under Preferences?
    Zen Arado: nope
    Aphrodite Macbain: :/
Aphrodite Macbain: you can always use Firestorm Help
Aphrodite Macbain: they are on line and user friendly
Bruce Mowbray: I also need to be moving along.... Thank you, Aph, Zen, and Qt. Carpe Diem!
    Aphrodite Macbain: Bye Bruce!
    Qt Core: bye Bruce
    Zen Arado: byee Bruce
    Zen Arado: bye all
    Aphrodite Macbain: byee Zen
Zen Arado: just checked again and now I have Network and Files
    Zen Arado: weird
    Aphrodite Macbain: nods
    Qt Core: ;-)
Zen Arado: will try next time
    Zen Arado: byee
Aphrodite Macbain: well, now you can remove yr old file!
    Aphrodite Macbain: Byee

Aphrodite Macbain: I wish I could see the expo!
Qt Core: Last week i went to see these arras (tapestries): https://www.google.it/search?q=arazz...IVhbcUCh0lXAa-
Aphrodite Macbain: I gather there are lots of kinds of food
    Aphrodite Macbain: from different countries
    Aphrodite Macbain: thanks!
Qt Core: yes, almost any country has a little or not so little or even more than one restaurant
Aphrodite Macbain: Where are those image from? Are they tapestries?
    Qt Core: yes
    Aphrodite Macbain: Wow
Qt Core: the bigger ones are 6x8 meters
    Aphrodite Macbain: amazing
    Aphrodite Macbain: Hey druthie
Qt Core: they were made in Florence by Dutch arras makers for Cosimo de Medici
    Qt Core: late XVI century
Aphrodite Macbain: They are in very good condition
    Qt Core: just restored
Aphrodite Macbain: we're looking at tapestries druth
Aphrodite Macbain: they are on display at the exposition
Qt Core: and for the first time in a couple century together
    https://www.google.it/search?q=arazz...IVhbcUCh0lXAa-
Qt Core: as they were thought
Aphrodite Macbain: as they were conceived?
    Qt Core: yes
Aphrodite Macbain: who owns them now?
Qt Core: they were in Palazzo della Signoria in Florence then when the Italy capital moved from Florence (yes we had Florence as capital for a few years) to Rome, half of them were moved to Rome
    Qt Core: public i think
    Aphrodite Macbain: nods
Aphrodite Macbain: Maybe I'll see them when I'm in Rome next year
Aphrodite Macbain: How are things druthie?
Qt Core: they will be in Rome for a few months i think, then they will go back to Florence where they real home is
druth Vlodovic: so are they painted on or woven in?
Aphrodite Macbain: (There are too many things to see in Rome!)
    Qt Core: woven in
    Aphrodite Macbain: amazing
Qt Core: copied from same size painting/drawing made especially for this
Aphrodite Macbain: There are some tapestries by Rafael in the Vatican worth seeing too
Aphrodite Macbain: so many things to see, so little time
druth Vlodovic: it is too bad the aboriginals in Canada didn't work in stone
    Aphrodite Macbain: :-)
Aphrodite Macbain: they probably made stone tools
druth Vlodovic: we seem to have very little history here simply due to time and lack of good storage

Aphrodite Macbain: and so much was made of material that disintegrates easily
Qt Core: the same day i went to see another exhibit, about food & art (connected to the expo organization) where there were some Monet, Picasso, Boccioni and others
Aphrodite Macbain: begins to feel green with envy
druth Vlodovic: how was the food?
Qt Core: i sometimes i feel an idiot for not having started before to go visit all the art and history Milan has to offer... just a few subway station away
Aphrodite Macbain: If it was Italian it was good!
Aphrodite Macbain: You can still see most of it, no?
Aphrodite Macbain: You are lucky to live in Italy

Aphrodite Macbain: I'm off to visit my rabbits. Bye for now
druth Vlodovic: human nature, we like to travel first, then look at things
Qt Core: bye Aph, have fun
druth Vlodovic: guess, I'll go see the bunnies, have fun qt
    Qt Core: bye
