    Bruce Mowbray: Heya, Qt.
    Qt Core: Hi Bruce
Bruce Mowbray: How are you doing today?
Qt Core: quite good even if for the first time in years I'm sad about the end of summer leave
    Qt Core: you ?
    Bruce Mowbray: Ahhh. Quite understandable.
     Bruce Mowbray: I'm excellent...
    Qt Core: :-)
Bruce Mowbray: Most of my animations don't work with these cushions.
Bruce Mowbray: but their sounds do.
    Bruce Mowbray:
    Bruce Mowbray:
Bruce Mowbray: Well, that one worked.
    Bruce Mowbray: Yikes!
    Bruce Mowbray: Bowing also works.
Bruce Mowbray: So, you have been on summer leave for a while?
Qt Core: three weeks, and i will probably have another week in early/mid October
    Bruce Mowbray: Wonderful.
Qt Core: for a few reasons i have accumulated a few hundreds hours of paid leave
Bruce Mowbray: I've been retired for almost a decade, so having vacations and leave time seem to have lost their splendor.
Bruce Mowbray: You must have been working a lot of overtime hours.
Qt Core: no, just don't take them often so they add up
    Bruce Mowbray: Ahhh.

    --BELL--

Bruce Mowbray: So, I gather from your not wanting to return to work that you have enjoyed your vacation.
Qt Core: yes, mostly thanks to expo
    Bruce Mowbray nods.
Bruce Mowbray: As you are probably aware, we have a movement over here called "Black Lives Matter...."
Bruce Mowbray: It seems to be giving rise to new movements,
Qt Core: no, never heard that name
Bruce Mowbray: like "ALL Lives Matter."
Bruce Mowbray: Just a sec. I will show you...
    Bruce Mowbray: https://www.google.com/search?q=Blac...sQwwn&dpr=1.75
Bruce Mowbray: or maybe, "Each Life Matters."
Bruce Mowbray: It is having ramifications in areas that were unexpected... like in health care and death penalty.
    Qt Core: ah, ok
Bruce Mowbray: The usual pro-liberal causes, of course.
Bruce Mowbray: in which I have long been entrenched.
Qt Core: as i mostly get my news by radio, such a visual thing would be missed
    Bruce Mowbray: yes, I understand.
Bruce Mowbray: I'm going to make some new t-shirts for Bruce.
Bruce Mowbray: with slogans like "All lives matter."
Bruce Mowbray: or something like that.
Bruce Mowbray: Issues like minimum wage being a "living wage" come to the front...
Bruce Mowbray: and issues like paid leave for health care, maternity leave, etc.
Bruce Mowbray: not to mention capital punishment, and many others.
Bruce Mowbray: I thought these matters might have been settled in the 18th Century, but apparently not.
Bruce Mowbray: "Liberty, Equality, Fraternity" -- that sort of thing.
Bruce Mowbray: I seem to be having trouble typing today.
    Qt Core: np
Bruce Mowbray: I've listening to a discussion about Alfred North Whitehead today --- whilst trying to write a program in Java.

    --BELL--

Bruce Mowbray: I appreciate Whitehead's "process" thinking...
Bruce Mowbray: how there are no "things" as such - just processes.
    Bruce Mowbray: events.
Qt Core: i've heard you mentioning it and even read his wiki page, but i don't know him
Bruce Mowbray: To suggest that there are specific things with attributes is an abstraction from "field theory" and "process"
Bruce Mowbray: It's a refreshing sort of thinking..
Bruce Mowbray: sort of like fresh air blowing through a stuffy room.
Bruce Mowbray: or a flowing stream...
Bruce Mowbray: Puts me in the mind of sharks...
Bruce Mowbray: who can only survive if in motion.
Bruce Mowbray: Since the time of Descartes, humans assume that they can best be understood as static minds separate from static bodies.
Bruce Mowbray: I much prefer the shark way of being.
Bruce Mowbray: Also, my typist bought some skiwalker poles on Thursday. Have you heard of those?
Qt Core: it is making me think about real number, defined as the one that cut the number line between less than and bigger then, with the defining epsilon always smaller
    Bruce Mowbray: Hmmmm.
    Bruce Mowbray: ??
    Bruce Mowbray: http://skiwalking.com/
    Qt Core: 2<3<4 2.5<3<3.5 2.75 <3 < 3.225 and so on
Bruce Mowbray: Since my typist walks a mile every morning and evening, he decided to invest in a pair of those.
    Bruce Mowbray: ahhhh.
Qt Core: are those "almost" like tennis rackets to put under your boots ?
Bruce Mowbray: They are really ski poles for walking on land... and on roads.
    Bruce Mowbray: in all seasons.
Qt Core: ahhh, Nordic walk then
    Bruce Mowbray: Yes, Nordic walking!
Bruce Mowbray: My barber has a pair and loves them, so he recommended them to me on Thursday when I got a haircut.
Qt Core: I've seen people using them even at the nearby park
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, I understand they are quite popular in Europe.
Bruce Mowbray: I ordered mine Thursday evening and they have already been shipped to me... should arrive here on Monday or Tuesday.
Qt Core: they would lessen the weight on knees i presume
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, they are supposed to be good for all sorts of things.
Bruce Mowbray: posture, knees, hips, and generally good for the cardio-vascular system too.
Bruce Mowbray: There are training courses on-line for how to use them properly.
Bruce Mowbray: I was surprised to learn that one does NOT grip the handles...
Bruce Mowbray: only lets the handles rest lightly in the hands,
    Qt Core: that is surprising
Bruce Mowbray: Apparently one wears a special sort of gloves that one uses to pull the poles along.
Bruce Mowbray: not using the hands for gripping.
Bruce Mowbray: so basically the wrists rest in the gloves.
Bruce Mowbray: It's not like pushing yourself along with skis on snow.
Bruce Mowbray: or even supporting your weight with the poles.
Bruce Mowbray: "Keep the fingers loose and relaxed! Don’t statically grip the poles – let the straps do the work."

Qt Core: it seems that it does it kob mostly forcing a good posture, then
    Bruce Mowbray: http://skiwalking.com/getStarted.asp

    --BELL--

Bruce Mowbray: Yes, the poles keep your arms elevated...
Bruce Mowbray: But I have not tried it yet.
Bruce Mowbray: Should know more about it a week from now.
Qt Core: can i ask you how popular/good is New Holland as an agricultural machine maker (It is an Expo sponsor and has its own pavilion that i visited, nice things to be seen, but are they good ?)
Bruce Mowbray: New Holland is an excellent farm machinery manufacturer.
Bruce Mowbray: I know several farmers who have their equipment.
Bruce Mowbray: The nearest town to where I live is also called New Holland -- but there is no connection with the company.
Qt Core: the biggest machine they showed was a 20 tons (net weight) harvester
Bruce Mowbray: The three most popular farm implement manufacturers over here are John Deere, International Harvester, and New Holland -- although there are also several popular foreign brands.
Bruce Mowbray: 20 tons seems reasonable.
Bruce Mowbray: My farmer plants 36 rows of corn simultaneously -- and can plant a 250 acre field in one day.
    Bruce Mowbray: by himself.
Qt Core: there were added stairs to enter it, wow, it seemed complicated, many buttons and leversand a touch screen full of options too
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, they are highly technical now. Very computerized.
Qt Core: there was even an option to tell the harvester where the gps antenna was installed on it
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, all of our planting here is done with gps.
Bruce Mowbray: They take four different gps readings for each seed planted.
    Qt Core: https://picasaweb.google.com/1104762...po2015Mission9
Qt Core: i've taken a couple pics of them
    Bruce Mowbray: clicks and looks.
Bruce Mowbray: hhmmmm. Can't seem get to that page, sry.
Bruce Mowbray: 'Sorry, that page was not found.'
Qt Core: it had wrong permissions, try again: https://picasaweb.google.com/1104762...po2015Mission9
    Bruce Mowbray: Ahhh! Better!
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, I see the heavy farm machinery now.
Bruce Mowbray: The stairway up to the cabin is cute.
Bruce Mowbray: It's amazing how clean the insides of those things are...
Bruce Mowbray: no dust or dirt..
    Bruce Mowbray: air conditioned.
Bruce Mowbray: Highly technological -- computerized.
Bruce Mowbray: I'm looking for the gallery of pix showing Robbie planting...
    Qt Core: ?
    Bruce Mowbray: Here it is:

Bruce Mowbray: Look how clean everything is!

    pab_planting_1.png
Qt Core: most of that equipment would not like dirt
Bruce Mowbray: That is the largest planter made: 36 rows at once.
Bruce Mowbray: Well, I need to be going for my evening walk now.
    Bruce Mowbray: Be well, Qt!
    Qt Core: have fun, bye!
    Bruce Mowbray: Enjoy!
