The Guardian for this meeting was Wol Euler...
Wol Euler: hello Qt
Qt Core: Hi Wol
Wol Euler: skating season has started!
Qt Core: yes ice rings are sprouting around both in SL and in RL
Wol Euler nods.
Wol Euler: still too warm for ice here though. We had one night of frost and a little snow, then it warmed up again
Qt Core: as i was never able to skate, not even with the old fashioned four wheels ones i probably will never try ice skating
Qt Core: we are down at 5/8 C at day, and just a couple morning of ice on the windshields
Wol Euler: it'll come soon enough
Qt Core: forecasts speak about snow between chrostmas and new year
Wol Euler nods.
Wol Euler: (have a seat, I'm just standing for the skating animations :)
Wol Euler smiles.
--BELL--
Qt Core: around here we are having a 4 day weekend as 8 is a national holiday (Feast of the Immaculate Conception) and 7 is St, Ambrogio, Milan patron saint
Qt Core: and this couple days sign the start of christmas madness
Wol Euler nods.
Wol Euler: well, it'll be over in less than three weeks :) look on the bright side
Qt Core: you mostly start buying gifts, deciding the xmas dinner/lunch menu, putting up the tree or the nativity scene
Qt Core: as i exchanged the desk we usually used for the nativity scene for a couple big armchairs i'm having trouble deciding where to put it up (my sister love to set it up, with dinosaurs and all)
Wol Euler grins.
Qt Core: some of the pieces are almost as old as myself... and some are broken... for at least the same length of time ;-)
Wol Euler: traditions :)
Wol Euler: my sister has a particular piece of Christmas wrapping paper that has been used since she was about six years old, which came from a neighbour. Every year my mother uses it to wrap something for her
Qt Core: that would olso mean she is one of the careful unwrapper sect ;-)
Wol Euler: in that case, yes
Wol Euler: otherwise she grabs and rips
Wol Euler: I can't remember what that paper wrapped, why it was so special
Wol Euler: I wonder whether she can :)
Qt Core: maybe it was the paper itself
Qt Core: i already bought, unwrapped and put in use my xmas gift (a new screen for my pc) ;-)
Wol Euler: ah :)
Qt Core: now i only lack some books, can't have christmas gift pile without paper books in it
Wol Euler: I bought myself a present yesterday, a copy of the "Nibelungenlied" from around 1200 AD, in two languages (Mittelhochdeutsch and modern German)
Wol Euler: agreed
Qt Core: if that means something like old/medieval german... how much is readable for modern people ?
Wol Euler: actually MHD is not as different as I expected it to be
Wol Euler: if you read it out loud and listen to yourself, it sounds a lot like the mountain/farming accent you still here in Bavaria
--BELL--
Qt Core: like old italian sounds like old tuscan and sicilian dialects, two of the main source of older works
Qt Core: that said i need to go as RL calls
Qt Core: Bye Wol, have fun
Wol Euler: you too!
Wol Euler: take care
