The Guardian for this meeting was Wol.

    Qt Core: Hi Wol.
    Wol Euler: hello qt!
Wol Euler: how's the weather there? Still raining?
Qt Core: yes, sometimes the sun comes out for a few hours making it hot, humid and sticky...
    Wol Euler: ha yes
Qt Core: (relatively hot, just mid/high '20, but as we aren't used to it yet...)
Wol Euler: low to medium 20s here, but really humid so it feels a lot warmer than it is
Qt Core: your side of Europe ?
Wol Euler: often cloudy, bits of rain
Wol Euler: I haven't heard how the water level on the Rhine is
Qt Core: sadly the same weather expected for the place my sister is spending a week at the sea :-(
    Wol Euler: ah well ...

    --BELL--

Wol Euler: I gather you are staying in Milan while she's away?
Qt Core: yes, the institution she goes organize this every year, book a few hotels room and on rotation bring there most of them
    Wol Euler: oh nice
Wol Euler: a good break for everyone involved
Qt Core: yes, and she really love the sea and to swim... but nothing will make her go to a vacation with me ;-)
    Wol Euler: heheheh
    Wol Euler: well then
Wol Euler: best for all :)
Qt Core: she started swimming when 6 months old, and (many years after that) won some regional and national swimming titles in special olympics style games
    Wol Euler: wow
Wol Euler: this will be very good for her, then
    Wol Euler: very appropriate
Qt Core: in those years there was a problems... if she wanted to swim the caretakers weren't able tto reach her to make her exit water ;-)
    Wol Euler nods.
    Wol Euler: I see

    --BELL--

Qt Core: (while i mostly swim brick style)
    Wol Euler: heheh

Qt Core: i lately found online the pdf version of a 1470 manuscript my amateur astronomer club helped organizing a little exhibit about (giving a little scientific background): http://bibliotecaestense.benicultura...lfa.x.2.14.pdf
    Wol Euler looks
Wol Euler: sun orbiting around the earth, eh?
    Qt Core: in 1470...
    Wol Euler: mmhmm
Wol Euler: standard wisdom for the time
Qt Core: it seems it is the last "major" work before modern printing
Wol Euler: every sane person knew that
Wol Euler: how was it made? Wood cuts?
Wol Euler: it doesn't look crisp enough for copper plate engraving
Qt Core: no, it is miniate
Qt Core: miniated on parchment as for the italian wikipedia article: https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/De_Sphaera)
Wol Euler: so it's basically handpainted
Qt Core: we were just lately told they are bringing the exhibit to spain, wonder if some of us *not me probably) will have to go there
Wol Euler: it would be a good excuse :)
    Qt Core: yes

    --BELL--

Qt Core: have you ever thought about walking on waters after being invited to do it by someone called Christo (not so blasphemous as it may sound): http://www.thefloatingpiers.com/
    Wol Euler: hmmmm
    Wol Euler: wow!
    Wol Euler: I'm sold :)
Qt Core: it is a bit more than an hour by car from me, planning to at least go listen him this week at the local library... and probably going there with the library organized bus
Wol Euler: amazing. Do go, and please tell us about it
Qt Core: then i may go there another time by night as it will be open (and free) 24/7
Wol Euler: I can't go, the timing is impossible :(
Wol Euler: unless ... next weekend ...
    Wol Euler: hmmmmm
Wol Euler: so if I got to Milan, there is a 13€ day pass on Trenord
Qt Core: the only issues i see are no booking, so expect queues, no parking in the area, so bus or train are best, no handrail i a swin poorly
Wol Euler: yes, there will be crowding. He says the platforms slope ...
Qt Core: i checked some trenord options, the price ranges from 10.5 to 2.5 euros depending on how much changes you accept
Wol Euler: sixteen metres wide. No problem there :)
Wol Euler: but people will surely fall in, and kids will push each other in
Qt Core: it is said that that people will walk in the innermost 8 meters divided from people coming and going
Qt Core: and the guy suggest doing it barefoot
    Wol Euler smiles.
Wol Euler: well, not sure about that
Wol Euler: but I am fascinated
Wol Euler: I do want to see it
Wol Euler: thank you for that, Qt, I would have missed it entirely if we hadn't met tody
Wol Euler: I hope I can figure out some time to go
Qt Core: tell me if you do, we may arrange something :-)
    Wol Euler: good idea!
Wol Euler: are you in the google group? I think I have your email from that
    Qt Core: yes
    Wol Euler: okay
Wol Euler: I'll have a look at that this afternoon and let you know

    --BELL--

Wol Euler: it would have to be in the first four days or so for me, I am flying to Canada on the 22nd
Qt Core: the biggest issues may be weather, if only summers would remember its supposed schedule...
Qt Core: give or take a few s here and there
    Wol Euler: yes
Wol Euler: but you do what you have to do :)
Qt Core: ok, even without a sister around i still have things to do, time to go
    Wol Euler: same here
Wol Euler: enjoy the weekend, Qt
    Qt Core: you too, bye
