    Raindrops

Eden Haiku: Good morning Riddle :)

Riddle Sideways: Sorry to be late, was not sure computer was going to run at all

Riddle Sideways: it seems sleepy this morning

    Riddle Sideways: *seemed

Eden Haiku: Almost came here in a baby doll. Had bought some Viola doll dress. It was night wear, I had to change :))

    Riddle Sideways:

    Riddle Sideways: not need change

Eden Haiku: Back to classic clothing :)

Eden Haiku: It felt really weird :(

Riddle Sideways: yep, all about feel

Eden Haiku: You went from purple shirt to black and white after a while. So we are harmonized :)

Riddle Sideways: reminded that shirt was not changed today :(

Riddle Sideways: knew you would notice

Riddle Sideways: so bad to wear the same shirt for days

Eden Haiku: Didn't really remember last week shirt :)

Riddle Sideways: just in case you did

    Eden Haiku: smiles

    —BELL--

Riddle Sideways: had small sprinkling of rain last night

Riddle Sideways: could almost hear it on roof

Riddle Sideways: too many noises in bedroom

Eden Haiku: soothing sound, especially when it's much needed was it?

Riddle Sideways: lay there trying to figure out how to shhhhhh cats, audible players, clocks

Eden Haiku: ah, I see :)

    Riddle Sideways: yes, been weeks

Riddle Sideways: wanted to hear the drops

Riddle Sideways: held breath so it was not too loud

    Fear of fires

Eden Haiku: Good. Are Californians scared of fires as soon as it gets warmer now?

Riddle Sideways: then got how silly that was

    Eden Haiku: ;)

Riddle Sideways: yes, everybody getting scared

Riddle Sideways: many meetings about 'when' not 'if' fire comes

Eden Haiku: I imagine. You had huge fires last summer and the one before I think?

Riddle Sideways: see, this side of the valley only has one bridge road to get out

    Eden Haiku: Oh, that's terrifying!

Riddle Sideways: if fire (or other) blocks that road

    Eden Haiku: Then what?

Riddle Sideways: yes, many are just going into terrified fear

Riddle Sideways: so have a meeting

    Eden Haiku: How to escape?

    Eden Haiku: Build fire walls?

    Riddle Sideways: clear all fuel

Riddle Sideways: need to cut down the trees, scrape away all growth

Eden Haiku: Rake your garden like the other one would say? Like they do in Finland. But seriously?

Riddle Sideways: yep, nature has to be removed

Eden Haiku: Cut the trees? That's so sad.... Only in emergency I suppose?

Eden Haiku: How do you feel about cutting your lavender and your trees Riddle?

Riddle Sideways: not so good feeling

    Eden Haiku: I'm sure...

Riddle Sideways: like living in wild lands, wilderness

Eden Haiku: Are there other solutions?

Eden Haiku: This discussion feels so unreal...

Eden Haiku: Can't believe you have to envision cutting the trees around you…

Riddle Sideways: Power company spokesperson (the going bankrupt because of law suits over starting last year's fires) showed how all fuel needs to be cleared completely away from 'Their' poles and wires

Eden Haiku: Listened to a podcast about fires in Portugal. Fires run very fast and at the blink of an eye devastate villages along their path...

Riddle Sideways: and the county/state road person outlined what it takes to plan a new road/bridge/path over the river

Riddle Sideways: went on and on for 10 minutes

Eden Haiku: Oh! their poles and wires, I see...

Riddle Sideways: most of audience was asleep at 5 min

Riddle Sideways: but we got the point

Eden Haiku: A new road/bridge sounds better...

Riddle Sideways: it would be 20 years (hopefully) before a new road would be there

    Eden Haiku: Twenty years!

Eden Haiku: A bit too late I suppose....

Riddle Sideways: that would be fast for 10+ agencies to act

Riddle Sideways: almost enough of this

    Riddle Sideways: except to say

    Eden Haiku: listening

Riddle Sideways: that both neighbors have cleared their land

    —BELL--

Riddle Sideways: and are looking over the fences

Riddle Sideways: seeing the grass greener on this side

Eden Haiku: Oh, so no more trees on their property?

    Riddle Sideways: no, was over-exaggeration.

Eden Haiku: Giving you the bad eye for not having cleared the lavender yet?

Riddle Sideways: their trees have no low limbs

    Riddle Sideways: yep, bad eye

Eden Haiku: I see. No ground food for the fires...

Riddle Sideways: plus, wild Thistle has spread through the neighborhood

Eden Haiku: Will you have to cut low limbs and some shrubs?

Riddle Sideways: and spent Saturday pulling it

Eden Haiku: Lots of work and sadness involved...

Riddle Sideways: yep, probably need mountain climbing ropes to do the back hill

Eden Haiku: So sorry to hear that Riddle :)

Eden Haiku: Oh! You have to clear the slopes as well, wow!

Riddle Sideways: well, wanted to be all 'poor Me'

Riddle Sideways: so you feel better

    Riddle Sideways: about your situation

    Riddle Sideways: :))

Eden Haiku: This seems like a conversation from some science-fiction future...

    Riddle Sideways: not that weird

A change of subject (or not)

Riddle Sideways: watched some Netflix series last night

    Eden Haiku: smiles

Riddle Sideways: that was all sci-fi robotty weird show

    Eden Haiku: Which?

    Riddle Sideways: like Twilight zone

    Eden Haiku: ah:)

Riddle Sideways: hate to tell you, so you would watch it

    Riddle Sideways: howdee Adams

Eden Haiku: Good morning Adams :)

Adams Rubble: Good morning Eden and Riddle :)

Eden Haiku: We have been talking about actions Riddle and his neighbors have to take to prevent fires...

Riddle Sideways: the need for Smokey the Bear to hang out here

Riddle Sideways: hope Adams brought a change of subject

    Eden Haiku: I have one!

    Riddle Sideways: good

Eden Haiku: It snowed in France, Belgium, Slovenia and Switzerland this week end.

Eden Haiku: How is that for leaving behind the climate urgency?

    Riddle Sideways: looks at calendar

    Riddle Sideways: snow?

    Eden Haiku: laughs

    Eden Haiku: yes, snow!

Adams Rubble: flooding issues around here where building has gone on in low lying areas

Adams Rubble: climate change affecting us all more and more

Riddle Sideways: naively thinks Switzerland snows all year

Adams Rubble tries her best yodel

Adams Rubble: making clocks and chocolate while the snow falls outside

    Riddle Sideways: yep, that image

Eden Haiku: Here, we have been having Spring for the last two days: sunny and 19 Celsius (65F), This "normal" weather suddenly seems suspicious...

Adams Rubble: ohhh, and gold piling up in the vaults

    Adams Rubble: brb

Riddle Sideways: and teenagers around the world screaming about the world being left them

Zen Arado: 's current display-name is "Zen".

    —BELL--

Eden Haiku: Went to an Yves Rocher boutique last week. It's a shampoo/soaps things like company which has been environment-friendly for 25 years or so. The ladies at the shop had handwritten stickers on their uniforms that they filled themselves and that said what each of them did to prevent climate crisis.

    Eden Haiku: hi Zen, welcome!

    Riddle Sideways: hey, Zen

    Zen Arado: Hi all

Riddle Sideways: not seen ya at this time in a long time

Zen Arado: keep forgetting to come

    Riddle Sideways: welcome

Riddle Sideways: wondering about your weather there, Zen

    Riddle Sideways: Europe got snow

    Zen Arado: cold

    Zen Arado: North wind

Eden Haiku: One of the ladies at the shop had written that she took public transportation, another one that she was vegan, a third one she composted. It was nice because we started a conversation about climate urgency right there in the store as I was buying shampoo and hair oil.

    Adams Rubble: Hello Zen :)

    Zen Arado: Hi Adams :)

Eden Haiku: We have been talking about issues we are all facing about climate emergency Zen :)

Riddle Sideways: hope it was Carbon Footprint free shampoo

    Zen Arado: yes

    Zen Arado: very important

Zen Arado: I agree with Extinction Rebellion cause

Eden Haiku: No animals testing, no bee byproducts, organics products.

Zen Arado: but wonder how many ordinary people care two hoots

    Riddle Sideways: not sure

Zen Arado: not sure what I mean by 'ordinary'

Zen Arado: but you know what I mean?

Riddle Sideways: the Important rich white Men care about Not having change

Eden Haiku: Extinction Rebellion is getting more and more attention but we feel rather powerless don't we?

    Zen Arado: won't mention T word :)

    Riddle Sideways: good

Riddle Sideways: back to the Switzerland gold piling from before

Zen Arado: I was watching a french film about climate change on YouTube last night

    Zen Arado: really good

Riddle Sideways: and practiced your French

    Zen Arado: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4LToxHsxJso

Zen Arado: yes get most of it with french subtitles

    Zen Arado: good practice

Eden Haiku: There was a new report issued recently (IPBES) stating that 25% of the species are threatened with extinction, global wild mammal biomass is down by 82%, 87% of wetlands lost and so on...

Eden Haiku: Oh, the video is blocked here, sadly Zen...

Riddle Sideways: and the need to deforest this little half acre homestead

Zen Arado: L'Homme, destructeur de la Terre

    Zen Arado: oh sorry

Riddle Sideways: no French vids for you

Adams Rubble wonders why videos are blocked in Canada

Zen Arado: it gives history oft he oil barons

Eden Haiku: Thanks to Eliza who tweeted about it on Twitter, that's the first thing I read this morning . Waving to Eliza through the log :)

    Zen Arado: JD Rockefeller etc

Riddle Sideways: now there was a great rich white guy

Adams Rubble is reading the logs now instead of Eliza but waves back

Riddle Sideways: the new censor might need to edit some of this

Eden Haiku: I guess videos are blocked because the ads have to be local. Will search the title, it must be available somewhere with ads targeted just for me like cars, usually. I don't even own a car. Algorithms aren't so clever.

    A fairly small footprint

Zen Arado: my footprint is fairly small

    —BELL-

Zen Arado: no car, no flights

Zen Arado: but forced on me :)

Eden Haiku: yes Zen, that's a good point :)

    Eden Haiku: Virtuous :)

Zen Arado: electric wheelchairs pretty efficient transport

Eden Haiku: Can you venture into the streets by yourself Zen?

    Zen Arado: oh yes

    Eden Haiku: Oh, that's nice!

Zen Arado: never go much farther than a mile though

Zen Arado: I do shopping myself

    Zen Arado: groceries etc

Eden Haiku: That's great! Lots of little shops in your area?

Zen Arado: it's cold in winter

    Zen Arado: yes

Zen Arado: big supermarket 200 yards away

Eden Haiku: Europe is so much more human friendly :)

    Zen Arado: medium sized anyway

Zen Arado: big Tesco store about 1/2 mile away too

Zen Arado: and lots of restaurants

Eden Haiku: Are people friendly Zen?

Zen Arado: I organized things that way

    Eden Haiku: Helpful?

    Zen Arado: yes

Zen Arado: Irish people talk to strangers

    Zen Arado: yes usually

Eden Haiku: Must be great to be able to greet neighbors and shop workers as you go about your errands :)

Zen Arado: we get lots of tourists in my small town because of Norman castle

    Eden Haiku: Ah yes :)

Zen Arado: they have a GoThrones bus tour calls in

    Eden Haiku: I see :)

Zen Arado: lots of it filmed in N.Ireland

Eden Haiku: oh really? I don't watch Games of Thrones but I see so many ads :)

    Zen Arado: me neither :)

Eden Haiku: Do you see the shooting crews at work sometimes?

    Zen Arado: ha yes

Riddle Sideways: which parts do they film there? the Ice or the Castles

Zen Arado: there was a crew in my local Sainsburys cafe one morning as I was having breakfast

Riddle Sideways: just kidding, probably the shore line

Zen Arado: local quarry is used a lot

Zen Arado: don't know if they use the castle

Zen Arado: North coast they use I think

Riddle Sideways: the series needs lots of castles

Eden Haiku: They probably do as I guess they have battling fore thrones :)

Zen Arado: it's quite built up around the castle

Zen Arado: maybe they can edit that?

Zen Arado: it was built in 1180

Eden Haiku: They need a good cinematographer to edit out the electric poles and so on :)

Riddle Sideways: yes, post-production people use white-out to edit out the modern stuff

Zen Arado: it has walls 6 feet thick

Riddle Sideways: imagines the building of that

Zen Arado: not pretty was for military purposes

Zen Arado: fortify and protect Belfast Lough

Adams Rubble: I must go. Busy morning here. Have a good rest of the day/night :)

    Adams Rubble waves

Eden Haiku: We went from fear of fires in California, snow in Europe, floods on East Coast, Extinction Rebellion cause to Game of Thrones in North Ireland :)
