Adams Rubble: Good morning Riddle :)
Riddle Sideways: Morning Adams
Adams Rubble: How is your deck?
Riddle Sideways: thanks for the good cushion
Riddle Sideways: yesterday ws fun watching
Riddle Sideways: in a half hour the big cement truck and the cement pumper equipment filled all the holes and tubes that took 2.5 day to dug and set
Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: and Jimmy Hoffa disappeared from view
Riddle Sideways: yep, gone
Riddle Sideways: ㋡
Adams Rubble: How long does it need to set before copnstruction?
Riddle Sideways: thought that was going to be longer, but they said they start today
Riddle Sideways: less than a full day
Adams Rubble: wow
Riddle Sideways: there was some animal hole almost under the house foundation that got filled with the extra concrete too
Adams Rubble: L)
Adams Rubble: :)
Riddle Sideways: ok, so everyday you change to yet another nice outfit
Riddle Sideways: how do you pick what to wear?
Adams Rubble shrugs
Riddle Sideways: do know about how well organized your inventory is
Riddle Sideways: and the special outfits for holidays
Riddle Sideways: so, just today's mood
Riddle Sideways: or alphabetical
Adams Rubble: yes
Adams Rubble: mood
Riddle Sideways: that was such a good session Tuesday.
Riddle Sideways: probably ok not to be so deep today
Riddle Sideways: ㋡
Adams Rubble: yes. it is hard to replicate
Riddle Sideways: did appreciate the appearances
--BELL--
Adams Rubble: things slow down often after some reaizations
Adams Rubble: Hello Qt :)
Riddle Sideways: yes
Riddle Sideways: Hi QT
Qt Core: Hi Riddle, Adams
Riddle Sideways: weather here is the morning fog that will burn off
Riddle Sideways: virus here is spiking
Riddle Sideways: work crew will be here soon
Riddle Sideways: that is the report ㋡
Adams Rubble: virus is slowing here but we are not opened up
Qt Core: i'm amazed by it slowing down in spite pf all the people not wearing or wearing badly the still mandatory outside masks
Adams Rubble: it seems to be a virus that does what it wants
Riddle Sideways: funny how that is
Adams Rubble: we still have much to learn
Riddle Sideways: bbl, take care
Qt Core: bye
Adams Rubble: bye
Adams Rubble: Riddle is having work done on his house
Qt Core: ok
Qt Core: i almost like, at the now reopened restaurant the increased space between tables, even if that will mean less table for the owner and so lesser service or higher prices to us
Adams Rubble: I have been reading Thomas a Kempis' Imitation of Christ at Pema's suggestion
Adams Rubble: yes, about the restuarants--some tables are way too close
Adams Rubble: one of the things I came across in the book was the suggestion to appreciate the Love of the giver of a gift rather than the gift
Adams Rubble: It is such wonderful advice
Qt Core: even if it was not intended as a gift and even has a cost ?
Adams Rubble: hmmm
Adams Rubble: I don't know that that would apply
Adams Rubble: the cost makes no difference
Adams Rubble: by focusing on the gift itself we may be disappointed
Adams Rubble: focusing on the Love of the giver changes the perspective
--BELL--
Adams Rubble: Good that your restaurants are opening
Qt Core: thinking about the various medical equipes that came here in the deepes moments of this crisis, both from other areas of italy and from other countries, i remember having heard about them coming from albania, russia, norway, cuba, surely i missed some too
Adams Rubble: I miss the days when our country used to work with the world
Qt Core: the cons of the big pros of the american dream are becoming heavier and heavier
Adams Rubble: right wing governments are dangerous no matter which country
Adams Rubble: It will be a big test this Novmber
Adams Rubble: fighting for the survival of our democracy
Qt Core: the thing i find unreal, almost incredible is all the issue with voting, like in having to register, not voting on saturday/sunday, polling station being moved or just rare...
--BELL--
Adams Rubble: It is called racism
Qt Core: especially the weekday voting is "economic racism"
Adams Rubble: the reactionary right can not win an election without suppressing the vote
Riddle Sideways: back, was hearing about Russia's voting now
Qt Core: that's nice too, Putin in power until 2036, if his health would support him
Adams Rubble: wb
Riddle Sideways: simple vote of Yes/No on 200+ referrendoms
Riddle Sideways: one choice
Qt Core: but then the alternative would have been a puppet or a new entity to control everything and him on it
Qt Core: wow, and i got issue when they gave me 13 referendums cards ;-)
Riddle Sideways: again, May you live in Exciting times.
Riddle Sideways: yes, we have a 13+ selection ballot once
Riddle Sideways: but Russia has a one single Yes/No checkbox on All/None
Qt Core: all on one paper sheet ? here are a separate sheets for each referendums
Riddle Sideways: a lot of paper used
Qt Core: one would wonder what terrible things would be there beside the main question
Riddle Sideways: have been a poll worker the last few years. Lots of fun day. No idea what this year will be like
Qt Core: i spent some time at the poll stations as a kidm when my parents were involved in politics, they were usually there as "list rapresentants
Qt Core: as in delegates of the parties hjere to check that all was going right
--BELL--
Riddle Sideways: ah
Qt Core: strangely enough is one of my clearer memory of doing something outside home with them
Riddle Sideways: hmmm, only family vacations were Mom and Dad both together with us
Adams Rubble: I need to go. Have some appts this afternoon
Adams Rubble: I will get the log when you finish :)
Adams Rubble: Best to both of you
Qt Core: bye Adams, be safe
Adams Rubble: you too Qt
Riddle Sideways: by Adams
Riddle Sideways: well, should go too.
Qt Core: bye ;-)
Riddle Sideways: can't help the workers, but will watch as entertainment
Qt Core: and stay safe and have fun ;-)
Riddle Sideways: take care and be safe
